Allen strode forward quickly.
In a fluster, Shawn stammered, “This is a misunderstanding…”
Allen raised his foot and kicked Shawn in the chest.
Shawn felt his ribs break, a piercing pain.
Some liquid surged up from his throat. He opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Allen crouched down, looked at Matilda, and a flash of pain flickered in the depths of his eyes.

He picked up the vase on the table and smashed it to the ground.
Picking up a sharp piece of debris, he slashed it down Shawn’s nose to his philtrum.
The skin and flesh were torn apart, dripping with blood.
When Brandon arrived, he saw large patches of blood on the carpet.

Allen wiped his hands clean and picked up the unconscious Matilda.
Brandon’s mind went blank for a moment.
He wondered, ‘Did the male reporter do something to Matilda?’
Matilda seemed to be stuck in a nightmare, unable to wake up, and her head kept moving.

Brandon had no idea what he was calling out.
He walked forward nervously, trying to snatch Matilda from Allen.

There was a guilty look on Brandon’s face.
It was he who burdened Matilda with a bad reputation, so that no one dared to employ her, which led to her encountering this kind of thing.

Matilda was asleep, looking gentle, soft, and graceful as a breeze.
Brandon couldn’t help but hold her closer.
The curiosity driven by hormones disappeared in the first year of his marriage.
He only wanted a gentle, docile, and harmless Matilda.

Matilda had been asleep for three hours and had not yet woken up.
Greg and Shelby arrived at Saints International Hospital.

Brandon frowned. “Mr. Stuart from the Ecology Department?”
Greg answered, “Yes. The chairman won’t let you handle this matter. He said that the factory is under the supervision of the Ecology Department, and it’s not worth planting a bomb for your wife.”
Brandon weighed the pros and cons in his mind.
If Ridge Stuart wanted to stir trouble, he could shut down the factory for rectification in minutes, which would be a waste of manpower and money.

Brandon said to Greg, “Go and choose a set of jewelry, no more than three million dollars.”

Allen took off his watch and walked out.
The gloomy sky was like a heavy, hanging bell, as if it could fall and swallow all living things at any moment.

When Matilda woke up, she found herself in the hospital.
Tessa was watching over her.
It took her a few seconds to realize what was going on.
But her memory stopped at the time of the interview.
She asked, confused. “How did I end up in the hospital?”
Matilda’s head was still dizzy, and she propped herself up on the bed with her elbows, trying to sit up.
Suddenly, she felt a pain in her waist.

She lifted her hospital gown to check and found a bluish bruise on her waist.
Matilda couldn’t remember how she got hurt.
As her eyes moved, she saw Brandon and Shelby in the ward.
Matilda immediately pointed to the door and told them to get out.
Shelby added fuel to the fire. “Matilda, Brandon brought you to the hospital. Why don’t you appreciate it?”
Brandon stopped her. “Shelby, stop talking.”
He then said to Matilda, “Get some rest.”
Shelby went out with Brandon.

She sighed and said, “How could this happen to Matilda? She is so competitive. If she knew the truth, would she do something drastic?”
Brandon stopped and looked at Shelby. “Why would you say that?”
Shelby bit her lip, looking conflicted and embarrassed.
“Matilda was unconscious at the time, and she injured her back when she woke up. And Shawn was also disheveled. He might have done something to Matilda…”
Brandon’s eyes darkened.
When he went in, Shawn wasn’t wearing pants.
Allen was the first to arrive at the scene, so he must know the truth.
Brandon went to find Allen, wanting to know if Shawn had violated Matilda.
