Matilda asked curiously, “You, one with the mother’s surname, and one with the father’s surname?”
Allen nodded, then shook his head again, as if he had some unspeakable secret.
He simply said to Matilda, “I took my adoptive father’s surname.
“My family matters are quite complicated. I will tell you about them one by one when the time is right.”
“It’s up to you whether you tell me or not,” Matilda replied calmly.
But her fingers were about to dig a hole in the sofa.
The posture made her very uneasy.
Allen turned his body to get closer to her, and his warm breath brushed against her ear.

‘A plumber?’ Shelby was alert.
‘Could it be the same person from Maple Heights who helped me secretly take photos of Matilda?
‘Why would he come looking for me? Has the matter been exposed?’
She was flustered and made up a reason.
She said with a smile, “Maybe it’s the father of my classmate, whom I studied abroad with.
“That classmate’s family isn’t well-off. Maybe they’re in trouble. Brandon, I’ll go and take a look.”

Shelby walked to the entrance of the villa and found that it was indeed the plumber from Maple Heights.
