Chapter 3
The next day, I got woken up by Lily’s cat pissing all over my face.
While I was asleep, Lily’s cat decided to use me as its personal bathroom. I woke up disgusted and instinctively swatted the damn thing away.
“What the fuck!”
I was about to rush to the bathroom to wash my face when Gabriel kicked me across the room and shoved my head into that ice bucket.
“Princess using you as her toilet should be an honor, you ungrateful bitch. Instead of saying thank you, you dare to hit her?”
Princess was Lily’s spoiled cat.
The ice water made my face go completely numb. I couldn’t even move my facial muscles anymore, just screamed out of control.
“Gabriel, what the hell of you!”
“Oh my God, my poor Princess! Look, she’s missing fur where you hit her. Autumn, you’re such a monster!”
Lily picked up Princess lovingly, stroking her fur.
Princess glared at me with pure hatred, letting out low, threatening growls.
Gabriel grabbed my hair and threw me right in front of the cat, snapping his fingers.
“Princess, attack! Make the bitch pay!”
On command, Princess launched herself from Lily’s arms straight at me.
Her claws were razor-sharp and she was vicious – those unclipped nails tore bloody gashes all over my body in seconds.
I rolled around on the ground screaming, trying to shield myself with my arms, but those claws seemed laser-guided, slicing into every opening.
Lily was cheering from the sidelines like it was some kind of show.
“Good girl, Princess! That’s my smart baby getting revenge!”
Even worse, my shredded clothes were exposing way too much skin.
All I could do was scream in desperation.
“Gabriel, if I die, you’re gonna regret this!”
“Regret what?”
Gabriel laughed dismissively while pulling Lily closer.
“My only regret is not strangling you sooner instead of wasting time with a slut like you!”
“Meow!”
Princess finished her attack, gracefully jumped off me, and started licking her claws clean.
Lily scooped her up and fed her treats.
“Mommy’s so proud of you, baby!”
I was lying there covered in wounds, caught a glimpse of the wall clock, and suddenly started laughing.

Gabriel was looking at me like I’d lost my mind.
“I’m laughing because your time’s almost up.”
“You’ve got what, a few hours left before you turn thirty?”
He went still for a second, then started cracking up.
“Are you kidding me? I slept with Lily last night – I’m totally fine now. Nice try though!”
“Oh really?”

I slowly pulled myself up off the floor, staring him down.
“Well then, happy early birthday!”

Something in my eyes made him flinch for just a moment – I saw that flash of fear.
But then he recovered and backhanded me hard.
“You almost got me with that bullshit! Good acting!”
“You fooled me my entire last life, but you think I’m gonna fall for your crap again?”
