Chapter 5
Lily spun around in terror.
“Gabriel, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me like this!”
“Everything hurts… my whole body…”
Gabriel let out agonized groans, his eyes bulging grotesquely as his skin stretched tight, every vein visible beneath the surface.
“Quick! Get a doctor!”
I was so weak I could barely stand, stumbling against the wall multiple times then crawling downstairs.
Completely exhausted, I collapsed on the couch just as doctors rushed in with Charles and Beatrice.
They completely ignored me, rushing to Gabriel’s side.
“Gabriel, what’s happening to you!”
Beatrice then whipped around and slapped Lily hard across the face, her eyes wild with rage.
“You said you were a virgin with the rare bloodline! Why is this happening!”
Charles was shaking as he stared at Gabriel’s condition, panic in his eyes.
“It’s over… Gabriel’s curse is activating!”
Lily went pale, her lips trembling.
“How is this… I can’t believe this is actually real!”
She’d thought it was just their excuse for demanding a virgin – she never imagined people could actually die from this!
The doctor examined Gabriel thoroughly but couldn’t find anything wrong, breaking into a cold sweat from anxiety.
“Please, doctor, you have to save my son! He’s our only heir – without him, our entire family is over!”
The doctor shook his head, completely baffled.
“All his vitals are normal, but his breathing keeps getting weaker. We’ve given him adrenaline, but that’s just buying time.”
Just then, Gabriel spoke weakly from the bed.
“Mom… go get Autumn. She definitely knows how to save me.”
The truth was, I wasn’t just a virgin with the rare bloodline – I was also skilled in traditional medicine.
In my past life, Gabriel didn’t just use my body to extend his life – he also depended on my medical knowledge to keep him healthy.
Even someone as stupid as him could figure out who could actually help him now.
Beatrice looked at me lying half-dead on the couch and dropped to her knees.
“Autumn, please, I’m begging you. If you save his life, I’ll give you anything you want!”
I kept my eyes closed, trying to recover, and shook my head.
“There’s no way. My body’s been tortured so badly, I don’t have the strength to help him right now.”
Gabriel was shaking his head frantically.
“No, Autumn, you know medicine – there has to be something you can do, right? Please, just help me this once, and you’ll be the only daughter-in-law in this family. You can do whatever you want to Lily!”
Lily stared at him in disbelief, screaming.
“Gabriel, after everything I’ve done for you, how can you treat me like this!”
Charles kicked her hard in the stomach, his voice shaking.
“You’ve got some nerve! We investigated everything on the way here – you’ve been pregnant before, you’re not a virgin with any special bloodline! The Blackwood family won’t let this slide!”
Gabriel crawled from the bed to my side, grabbing my hand with trembling fingers, begging quietly.

“I know I was wrong not to trust you. Just save me, and I’ll treat you right for the rest of my life. I’ll never let anyone hurt you again…”
Suddenly the front door burst open. ++

“What did he call you? Aren’t you… aren’t you my girlfriend?”
Lucas Blackwood walked up to me and put a healing pill in my mouth.
After swallowing it, my body started visibly recovering at an incredible speed.
I stood up, looking down at the man crawling on the ground begging, and spoke coldly.
“Isn’t Lily your wife? You two already slept together – haven’t you figured that out yet?”
“Lucas Blackwood?”
Beatrice finally recognized the man standing next to me – the Blackwood family’s illegitimate son.
