Logan suddenly spoke up, startling Isabella. She quickly let go of Samuel and looked up.
When she saw Logan coming down the stairs, her heart dropped. Still, she forced herself to say, “Logan, I–I just wanted to talk to Samuel for a moment.”
“Isabella, just because I don’t say anything doesn’t mean I don’t know,” Logan said coldly, coming down the stairs to stand before them.
“I’ve already given you enough respect. I hope you’ll stop now,” he added.
With that, Logan bent down and picked Samuel up. Then he looked at Isabella and said, “Unless you really have to, don’t come near Samuel anymore.”
With that, he carried Samuel away without another word.
Isabella stood there, feeling increasingly uneasy. After Logan walked away, her eyes narrowed at Sophie, suspicion clear in her voice. “Did you go tell Logan something about me just staying here?”
Sophie’s brows knitted tightly, annoyed at being blamed out of nowhere. “Ms. Hewitt, don’t go throwing accusations around without proof.”
“Mr. Eliot already said he’s just taking you in for now. You’re only crashing here. Don’t forget your place.”
“Even if Mr. Eliot and Mrs. Eliot are fighting, he’s never thought about having you take her place. Isn’t that enough to show you your real place?” Sophie said.
With that, Sophie obviously didn’t want to argue with her any longer and just turned around to mind her own business.
Isabella never thought she’d get roasted by a maid. She was boiling inside, but had nowhere to let it out. Suddenly, she heard Hannah’s voice coming from outside.
Her expression shifted again and again; right now, Isabella wished she could just crawl into a hole and hide. Isabella was terrified of running into Hannah right now.
If Hannah found out Isabella was still mooching off them, she’d totally lose it.
Her heart was in chaos, but with Sophie and the others watching, Isabella couldn’t just bolt. All she could do was force herself to stay put and act normal.
When Hannah walked in, Isabella forced herself to go greet her. “Hannah,” Isabella said, trying to keep her smile up.
Instead of returning her smile, Hannah’s brows furrowed deeply. “Isabella, what are you doing here?”
With that, Hannah marched right into the house.
“Where’s Logan? And where’s Samuel? Didn’t you say Samuel was discharged? So why aren’t they here?”

Hannah demanded.

Sophie hurried out to greet her. “Hannah, Logan took Samuel out. Please, have a seat. I’ll make you some
coffee.”
Hannah nodded, but her eyes immediately zeroed in on Isabella again. “If Logan and Samuel aren’t home, then what are you still doing here?” she demanded.
Hannah’s question was so direct that Isabella gulped, unable to stop herself from wringing her hands.
Just as Isabella was racking her brain for an excuse, Sophie spoke up first. “Ms. Hewitt’s been crashing here these past few days.
“Mr. Eliot said some folks from abroad are looking for trouble with her, so it’s not safe for her out there. That’s why she’s staying here.”
Before Sophie could even finish, Hannah banged the table hard. “That’s ridiculous!”
Hannah shot Isabella a fierce glare. “You caused all that trouble overseas, and now you’re hiding out at Logan’s place like it’s nothing? Did it ever cross your mind you might be dragging Logan and Samuel into your mess?”
“Isabella, after the Hewitt family fell apart, I did everything I could for you as my close friend’s daughter. But how did you repay me?
“You conned me out of 5 million with fake jewelry, and now you want to ruin my son and grandson, too?” Hannah snapped.
Seeing Hannah this furious, Isabella felt completely cornered and scrambled to explain, “Hannah, those people aren’t as powerful as you think.
“They only dare to threaten me, nothing more. Now that they know I’m staying here, they wouldn’t dare come here again, and there’s no way they’d hurt Logan or Samuel.
“And besides, it was because I saved Logan back then that I got into trouble with them. They think I ruined their plans.”
“Here we go again!” Hannah snapped, her patience shot. She couldn’t even stand Isabella right now. “How many times are you going to keep saying the same thing?
“You keep talking about that so–called favor, but our family’s done more than enough for you over the years. Whatever we owed you, it’s already paid back.
“But you? Didn’t you swear up and down you’d pay me back the 5 million? So, how’s that working out for you? When are you actually going to pay me back?”
Isabella knew this was coming. Hannah was bound to bring it up, and her mind went totally blank.
Isabella tried to come up with something to stall, but seeing how furious Hannah looked, no matter how hard she racked her brain, she just couldn’t think of a single decent excuse.
Just then, Aurora walked in.

Chapter 102
As soon as Aurora stepped inside, she called out, “Hi, Logan.”
“He’s not home,” Hannah said, looking at Aurora. “Couldn’t you have called Logan before coming over? He and Samuel are both out, so we came here for nothing.”
Aurora frowned at Hannah’s words. “Samuel just got out of the hospital. Why is Logan already dragging him out?”
As she spoke, Aurora had someone bring in the gifts she’d brought for Samuel and put them away inside.
As soon as Aurora stepped inside, she spotted Isabella lurking off to the side and snapped, “Seriously, what are you still doing here? Why do you keep bothering Logan?”
“And what about the 5 million you owe my mom? Did you get it back or not? We’ve given you more than enough time to sort this out.
“It’s been forever, don’t tell me you haven’t even tried to talk to those people. Spit it out, where’s the cash?” Aurora demanded.
Isabella’s face fell, looking more and more uncomfortable as Aurora kept pressing her.
“About the money, Logan said he’d help me,” Isabella mumbled.
“Help you? Seriously, Isabella, do you even hear yourself? Logan already gave you a ton of money to start your own studio when you came back from abroad.
“But you just sat around and did nothing, couldn’t even keep it running, and you haven’t made a single dime,” Aurora snapped.
“And that money? Whatever, we’ll let it slide. But now you want Logan to bail you out for the cash you conned out of my mom? How do you even have the nerve to ask for that?” Aurora shot back.
“You embarrassed me and my mom in front of everyone, and we haven’t even made you pay for that yet. If you’re still going to keep dodging and refuse to pay up, then fine, let’s just call the cops.
“No point dragging this out until there’s no evidence left,” Aurora said, her voice cold and sharp.
Aurora was dead serious. She whipped out her phone, ready to dial 911 right then and there.
