Chapter 108
Chapter 108
Eliana looked at Isabella and suddenly felt a pang of complicated emotion.
“This must be what it feels like to be pushed into a dead end, Elia thought, watching Isabella. She couldn’t help but remember who she used to be in her previous life.
‘No matter who it is, getting too dependent on Logan always ends up miserable, Eliana mused.
Back in her previous life, with Eliana acting as a buffer between them, things were actually better.

But this time, after Eliana firmly pulled herself away, Logan’s attitude toward Isabella flipped so much in just a month. Honestly, it was pretty scary.
Eliana let out a long breath and looked at Isabella. “I don’t mean anything by this, and there’s no need to get so emotional. I’m just here to find out why.”
“I’m already about to divorce Logan. Why did you still try to run ne over with your car?” Eliana asked. “We don’t have any personal grudges, do we? I’ve already backed off. Why are you still being so aggressive?”
But as soon as Eliana finished speaking, Isabella couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Eliana, do you even believe the crap you’re saying?” Isabella sneered. “Everyone knows you’ve been clinging to Logan, never willing to let go.
“For six whole years, no matter how Logan treated you, no matter how Hannah and the rest acted, you just stuck around the Eliot family, shameless as ever.”
“And now you say you’re divorcing Logan? Who’s actually going to believe that?” Isabella scoffed.
“Did you really think you could keep it a secret? You thought we didn’t know you were pregnant, and you were just going to use the baby to make Logan cave, huh? Like I’d ever let that happen,” Isabella sneered.
“It’s not like I wanted you dead. I just wanted you to lose the baby. Who knew someone would actually step in for you, even there?” Isabella said coldly.
“Guess I didn’t cover all my bases. That’s on me,” Isabella added, her voice bitter.
“Isabella, are you crazy or what?” Eliana couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
That day at the hospital, Eliana got checked right in front of everyone, and Isabella saw it all.
She knew Eliana wasn’t pregnant, yet she was still spouting this crap.
Isabella caught Eliana’s meaning instantly and just snapped, “What else do you want from me? You just want to call me a joke, right?
“I wrecked my life over a baby that wasn’t even real. I sent all that dirt to Logan and Aurora just to ruin you, and that fool Aurora actually took it straight to you to settle the score.
“You just want to rub it in, show me how pathetic I am, don’t you? You’re just here to laugh at me, aren’t you?”
Isabella got more and more worked up, her voice rising with every word, until the cop on duty finally told her to calm down. That was when she suddenly deflated, slumping back into her chair.
That one reminder seemed to snap her back to reality, making her finally see just how screwed she really was.
Eliana looked at Isabella one last time, said nothing more, then stood up, nodded a quick thanks to the officer, and walked

Seeing Isabella in that state, Eliana finally felt a weight lift off her chest. She was truly able to let go of everything from her previous life.
She and Isabella might have had different personalities and made different choices, but at the core, they were the same.
Eliana had poured her heart out for Logan before, and now Isabella had gone so far as to break the law for him. In the end, it all came down to the choices they made for themselves.
And everyone had to face the consequences of their own decisions.
Whether it was her old self or Isabella now, the outcome was always the same.
It was weird. Ever since she got her second shot at life, that knot of resentment had been stuck in her chest.
But now, it finally loosened up. As she walked out, even her steps felt lighter, almost like she was floating.
Just as Eliana was about to step out, Isabella suddenly called after her.
“Eliana, you know, I actually kind of respect you,” Isabella said. “I never thought you’d really go through with divorcing Logan.
“Seriously, I thought you were just bluffing. You’ve got real courage, way more than I ever did.”
Eliana heard the faint bitterness in Isabella’s words and let out a quiet, almost imperceptible sigh.
‘If Isabella knew I paid for all this with my life, she probably wouldn’t think I was so brave, Eliana thought to herself.
As that thought crossed her mind, Eliana couldn’t help but lift her hand and gently press it to her chest.
The pain of that steel bar running through her in her previous life was still as clear as day in her memory.
That kind of unbearable agony, mixed with total helplessness and despair, she’d do anything to avoid ever feeling that way again.
When she saw Eliana walk up, instinctively holding her chest, Nathan’s face instantly filled with concern.
Nathan rushed over and reached out to support her. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
Eliana realized he’d gotten the wrong idea and quickly shook her head, trying to reassure him. “I’m fine. Why are you still here?”
Hearing her question, Nathan couldn’t help but feel like he’d been worrying for nothing.
“I was just worried about you,” Nathan muttered, turning to walk away.
Eliana didn’t get it at first, but when she saw the cops nearby all grinning at her, she finally realized what was going on,
Feeling a bit awkward with all of them looking at her like that, Eliana mumbled a quick goodbye and hurried out.
She quickly caught up to Nathan and called out, “Hey, what was that supposed to mean? Since when did I become an ungrateful brat?”
Nathan stopped and gave her a deadpan look. “Yeah, that’s true. You never think you are ungrateful.”
With that, Nathan headed for his car.
Noticing Eliana still rooted to the spot, he grumbled, “Get in already. You took a cab here, didn’t you? Come on, I’ll drive you

back.”
“I can just take a cab back,” Eliana shot back, just as annoyed.
Nathan huffed and climbed into the car, clearly annoyed.

Once he was inside, he saw Eliana actually heading for a cab. He slammed on the horn and shouted, “Get in the car!”
“Richard wants to talk to you. Otherwise, you really think I’d bother giving you a ride?” Nathan grumbled.
When Richard came up, Eliana’s whole vibe shifted; she got a lot more serious.
Irene had just warned her about the mess those online photos had stirred up, and Richard was gearing up to handle her divorce.
With all this drama blowing up, it was only natural he’d want to have a word with her right now.
Thinking about it, Eliana let out a sigh and dragged her feet over to Nathan’s car, yanked open the back door, and got ready to hop in.
“Sit up front, Eliana. Don’t make it look like I’m your personal driver,” Nathan shot back.
“Such a pain,” Eliana grumbled, but she still walked around to the front, opened the passenger door, and got in.
Once she was settled and buckled up, Nathan finally started the car and pulled away.
