The PR team at Eliot Group was spinning like tops, working nonstop, and looking visibly anxious.
Just yesterday, they followed Logan’s orders and posted those photos online. But now, barely a day later, he was telling them.
to take them all down.
As soon as the photos were removed, they immediately started working on a PR plan to suppress public opinion.
But this time, for some reason, the buzz was spreading far faster than they expected.
The whole PR department was in chaos, with everyone voicing their frustrations.
Honestly, they’d had a bad feeling about posting those photos from the start, but when Logan gave the order, they had no choice but to go along with it.
And now, just one day later, not only did they have to pull everything down, but the internet was exploding with rumors and criticism. Everyone in the department was scrambling to keep up, running around like headless chickens.
But what could they do? The boss screws up, and it’s always the grunts like them who have to clean up the mess.
The PR department was already thick with tension, but if anything, the atmosphere in the conference room upstairs was even heavier.
The veteran directors glared at Logan sitting at the head of the table. Their faces practically screamed disapproval, and they weren’t even trying to hide it anymore.
“What exactly is going on here? Didn’t you say you had a way to turn public opinion around? Is this really the solution you came up with?”
“Logan, do you even realize what you’re doing?”
“This whole month, the company keeps getting dragged into trouble because of your issues at home.”
“As the head of Eliot Group, can’t you be a bit more careful with your private life?”
“Look at the mess we’re in now. Does this look good to you? Have you even checked the comments online? People are tearing us apart. As a shareholder, I feel utterly embarrassed, as if I’m getting scolded right along with you.”
“Logan, everyone is tearing us apart online. Have you even thought about how you’re going to handle this, or are you just going to let it slide again?”
“You said you’d take care of the Westridge project, and we’ve been waiting, but we haven’t seen you do anything about it. And now we’ve got another mess on our hands.”
“We can’t keep waiting around forever. This time, you owe us an explanation. So, what’s your plan to fix all this?”
Amid all the grilling, one voice stood out, harsh and unforgiving
“Logan, if you can’t do this job right, then step aside and let someone competent take over. Stop hogging the seat and doing things that make us all look ridiculous,” the director snapped.
Logan looked downright grim, but when the director threw out that line, he finally snapped.
He slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet, his eyes sweeping over everyone in the room with a cold, piercing glare.
Logan said, “You’ve all been dying to say that, haven’t you?

Chapter 117
“Every single one of you is just waiting to take my spot, right?
“Did I not say I’d take care of it? What, you can’t wait a single second?
“Barely any time has passed, and you’re already jumping at the chance?
“If you think you can take my seat, go ahead. Let’s see if any of you actually have what it takes!”

Logan spat out the words through clenched teeth, turned on his heel, and shoved the office door so hard it banged loudly. echoing through the room.
At first, everyone in the office was genuinely intimidated by Logan’s outburst. But as soon as he stormed out, they realized he hadn’t given them any real answers at all. The moment he was gone, they started whispering and gossiping like crazy.
They weren’t even trying to be discreet, so every single word of their chatter hit Logan’s ears, clear as day.
Logan stomped back into his office, pissed off and seething. He slammed the door so hard it rattled the walls, making it clear to anyone nearby just how furious he was.
He’d barely sat down when there was a knock at the door.
“Who is it?” Logan said through gritted teeth.
Andrew, startled by the tone, managed to say, “Mr. Eliot, it’s me.”
“What do you want?” Logan snapped, clearly fed up. He really didn’t want to deal with anyone right now.
Andrew could tell from Logan’s voice that he was in a foul mood.
But when he glanced down at the court summons in his hand, he knew he couldn’t put it off any longer. Swallowing his nerves, he said, “Mr. Eliot, there’s a court summons. It was sent straight to the company.”
As soon as Andrew said that, Logan’s expression darkened even more. He clenched his fists, but still managed to say, “Come in.”
“Yes, sir,” Andrew said, his voice shaky as he nervously pushed open the door.
He walked up to Logan and carefully avoided making any sudden moves. Then, he handed over the court summons with both hands.
Logan glared at the envelope sitting on his desk, his frustration reaching a boiling point. He ripped open the plastic seal with barely contained anger.
He’d already figured Eliana was suing for divorce, but actually seeing the papers in front of him hit differently. A surge of annoyance he couldn’t put into words flooded his chest.
They’d been married for six years, and Eliana had always been obedient and gentle around him. Whatever he said went, and even when he lost his temper and snapped at her, she’d just accept it, no complaints.
But now, out of nowhere, it was like she’d turned into a whole new person. Logan couldn’t wrap his head around how she’d suddenly changed, insisting on a divorce as if it were the only thing that mattered.
Logan leaned back heavily in his chair, glaring at the court summons on his desk, seething with irritation.
“You can go now,” Logan said quietly, pinching the bridge of his nose and shutting his eyes, his voice muffled and heavy with frustration.
“Yes, sir,” Andrew said, not daring to stick around. He bolted out of the office,

Looking back on the past month, he honestly couldn’t understand how things had gotten so out of control. He thought, ‘How would I manage to make such a mess of my life?‘
Thinking it over, all this mess really started with Eliana. Because he never really cared about her.
He figured she was harmless and totally underestimated her. So, he just gave her the Westridge land and the whole project without even thinking twice.
Later, because he was convinced Eliana would never actually divorce him, when Aurora said Eliana was pregnant, he didn’t even question it and just believed her right away.
Looking back, he realized he only believed it because it was the only explanation he could cling to.
He just couldn’t accept that Eliana really wanted a divorce, so when Aurora said Eliana was pregnant and using the baby as an excuse, that was something he could actually wrap his head around.
At the end of the day, he just couldn’t accept that Eliana really wanted to leave him.
But in the end, it was his blind confidence and empty pride that came back to bite him, leaving him with nothing but regret.
Staring at the court summons in front of him, Logan knew Eliana was dead serious this time. He thought, ‘But why? Was she really doing this just for Isabella?‘
Even with those thoughts swirling in his mind, Logan just couldn’t bring himself to accept it. After hesitating for ages, he picked up his phone once again and dialed Eliana’s number.
