Chapter 118
As soon as Logan called, Eliana hung up on him.
His face grew even darker, but he gritted his teeth and called her again.
He kept calling, but every single time, Eliana hung up on him.
Logan wasn’t about to give up. Jaw tight, he dialed again.
But this time, when he called, he realized she’d blocked his number.
Logan couldn’t help but laugh in frustration, both annoyed and incredulous at her.
He honestly never expected that the woman who’d cared for him so attentively for six years could be so utterly decisive and heartless once she made up her mind.
She said she wanted a divorce, and even after he humbled himself and tried to win her back, she wouldn’t give in at all. Now, she wouldn’t even answer his calls.
But the only person who could get him out of this mess was Eliana. She held all the cards.
If Eliana was really just mad about Isabella, there’s no way things would’ve blown up like this between them.
Logan was at his wits‘ end.
The board members had already spelled it out for him today. If they could stir up trouble right in front of him, it was only a matter of time before they did the same to his father.
If things kept going like this, he might actually lose his spot at the top.
With all that weighing on his mind, Logan couldn’t sit still anymore. He jumped to his feet and walked out in a hurry.
His problems with Eliana were just marital drama stuff that they could sort out in private, no matter how bad it got.
But the company mess was a whole different ballgame.
Thinking this, Logan hopped in his car and headed straight to the Lyons Group, intent on cornering Eliana at her office.
Eliana had just gotten back from Irene’s place. The moment she stepped out of her car, she saw Logan’s car pull up nearby.
Her face fell instantly. Not wasting a single second, Eliana made a beeline for the elevator as soon as she spotted Logan.
But right as the elevator doors were about to close, Logan reached out and blocked them, then strode inside without hesitation.
Eliana shot him a frown, but Logan was already standing in the doorway. As soon as he stepped in, he hit the close button, giving her zero chance to escape.
Good thing they were at the Lyons Group. Eliana knew Logan wouldn’t dare try anything crazy here, so she kept her cool and calmed down fast.
Logan didn’t say a thing, and Eliana kept quiet, too.
It wasn’t until the elevator was about to pass the regular floors and head up to the management floor that Eliana finally spoke, “Sorry, Mr. Eliot, but as you know, the next floor is for management only. Not just anyone can go up there.
“May I ask what business brings you to the Lyons Group today?”

Logan finally looked at her and said, “Can we talk?”

“There’s no point,” Eliana replied coolly. “I don’t want to work with the Eliot Group, and I don’t want to be with you anymore. Whether it’s business or personal, there’s nothing left for us to talk about.
“So, Mr. Eliot, you should go now.”
With that, Eliana pressed the button for the last public floor. As soon as the doors slid open, she turned to Logan and said, “This is your stop, Mr. Eliot.”
Maybe after seeing Eliana shut him out so many times lately, Logan found himself more tired than angry. He let out a frustrated sigh and said, “Eliana, I just don’t understand. How did we end up like this?
“I know I messed up before, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot. But do we really have to go all the way to divorce?
“If this is about Isabella, I admit I should’ve handled things better. I didn’t think about your feelings enough. But I promise you, there’s never been anything going on between Isabella and me.
“The only reason I kept helping her is because of what happened five years ago overseas. You know she saved my life. When she came back here with nobody else to rely on, I couldn’t just turn my back on her.
“But when she crossed the line and almost hurt you, I didn’t protect her, did I? She is locked up now, isn’t she? Doesn’t that prove where I stand?
“We’ve been together all these years, and Samuel is already five. Why are you so set on ending our marriage? I thought giving you some space would help, but you went ahead and filed for divorce anyway. Can you tell me why?”
Eliana looked at him, the chill in her eyes only deepening.
Everything he said sounded so ridiculous to Eliana that she almost wanted to laugh out loud.
Back then, she used to pour out all her complaints and argue with him, but now, she couldn’t even be bothered.
She just didn’t have the energy to waste on him anymore.
As Logan finished, Eliana’s impatience was written all over her face. She could barely hide how fed up she was.
She said coldly, “Are you finished? Then get out.”
Logan’s face darkened, and he gritted his teeth. “Are you seriously not listening to a single word I say?
“So it’s not about Isabella, is it? It’s because of Nathan, isn’t it?”
Seeing him clench his jaw and spit out those words, Eliana just felt even more determined to divorce him.
She fixed Logan with a serious look. “Logan, if you’ve got any evidence, bring it up in court. If you don’t, then don’t go around slandering people when you’ve got nothing to back it up
“If you still have no clue why I want a divorce, you’re just making me want this divorce even more.”
“Mr. Eliot, I’m letting you keep some dignity. Leave on your own or I’ll call security,” Eliana took a deep breath and said seriously.
Logan’s face went dark with anger, but in the end, he could only swallow his pride and walk out.
As he walked out, Eliana stepped up and hit the elevator button, she shot Logan a cold look and said, “By the way, Mr. Eliot. try acting with a little integrity next time.
“Stop with the shady moves and quit doing things that are downright disgraceful. Otherwise, you’ll just end up shooting

yourself in the foot.”
Without another word, Eliana hit the close button, shutting the doors in his face.

Eliana could already imagine Logan fuming outside the elevator, but honestly, she wasn’t about to waste another thought on him.
She hadn’t said anything wrong, but spoke the truth. Now that his feelings were no longer her concern, Eliana felt lighter. than ever, as if a weight had finally been lifted off her shoulders.
Meanwhile, Logan made his way back to the underground garage, his face dark and grim.
The more he replayed Eliana’s cold attitude in his mind, the angrier he got; the fury in his eyes only burned hotter with every passing second.
‘Guess playing nice with her is a waste of time. If she insists on pushing me to the edge, then whatever happens next. She brought it on herself,‘ Logan thought.
