Chapter 119
With that thought, a flash of ruthless determination appeared in Logan’s eyes as he started the car and drove off. Gritting his teeth, Logan was just trying to figure out how to break the deadlock when his phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was Andrew calling, Logan picked up.
“Mr. Eliot, the client for that project we’ve been following up on just got back to us. They said they were moved by our sincerity and are willing to meet up and discuss the details,” Andrew said.
Logan’s tense nerves finally eased a little. “Really? Did they say when?”
“They’re in a hurry. They want to meet this afternoon,” Andrew replied without hesitation.
“That soon? Alright, get a car ready. I’ll be back right away. Make sure everything’s ready. We’re heading over as soon as I get there,” Logan said.
“Yes, sir,” Andrew replied, hanging up and getting to work.
Logan couldn’t help but smile for real this time.
He’d been after this project for ages, digging into every detail. If he could just snag a piece of it, he’d cover the losses from the Westridge deal in no time.
Honestly, Logan hadn’t expected much. He knew this was no ordinary project. The people behind it were industry heavyweights with global influence.
Back then, he was out of options and just took a wild shot, telling Andrew to keep chasing it, hoping for a miracle.
He didn’t have any better moves anyway, so even if they got rejected, it wouldn’t bother him. At worst, he’d just wasted a bit of time.
But to his surprise, the other side actually gave him a chance because

Logan instantly perked up, thinking, ‘I have to go into this meeting at

When Logan pulled up, Andrew was already out front with everything set up and ready.
Logan didn’t waste a second. He jumped out of his car and into the one Andrew had waiting, and they headed straight for the place they’d agreed to meet.
Logan knew the other side was really just calling all the shots and letting him play along for their own convenience, so he just followed their lead on everything, from start to finish.
Honestly, going along with everything the other side wanted was already pretty risky, but Logan was so caught up in trying to seal the deal that he didn’t even see the risks right in front of him.
Not long after Logan’s car pulled away, Nathan got the news.
Seeing Logan take the bait, Nathan’s lips curled into a cold smile and a wave of icy malice surged in his eyes, so intense it almost seemed to spill over.

Logan drove straight to the meeting spot without wasting a moment.
Following their instructions, he went upstairs and pushed open the door. Seeing who was inside, Logan felt a surge of relief. grateful he’d never given up.
The room was filled with top players from different cities. Some were on his level, but a few were people he’d only heard about, never met in person.
Having this many power players in one room for a single project said it all. This was something special.
The moment Logan stepped inside, all eyes in the room turned his way.
He didn’t waste a second, jumping right in. He greeted everyone with genuine enthusiasm.
The ones on his level came up to greet him warmly, as old friends caught up.
The big shots just stayed where they were, giving him a curt nod. Their status said it all.
Logan didn’t mind at all. He knew this was just how the game was played at this level.
The more distant they acted, the more solid this project seemed to Logan.
After Logan took his seat, the big boss at the head of the table started talking quietly with the people next to him, all while sneaking glances at Logan.
Logan couldn’t make out what they were saying, but judging by their looks, they were probably asking what he was doing here.
As the conversation dragged on and their eyes kept landing on him, Logan started to feel uneasy. He almost felt like he should stand up and explain himself.
But just then, the big boss looked convinced, nodded, and the person beside him stood up and walked out.
Once that person left, the big boss finally spoke up, and the project meeting got started for real.
Since Logan was a latecomer, everyone else already had a solid grasp of the project. After a brief review, they dove right into negotiating how the shares would be divided up.
Everyone figured this was easy money, so they were all scheming to snag the biggest slice they could.
Logan was no different.
He was betting everything on this project to make a comeback, so of course, he wanted as big a piece as possible.
So when it came time for everyone to pitch their preferred percentages to the big boss, Logan didn’t hold back. He named a pretty hefty number.
As soon as he threw out his number, everyone couldn’t help but glance his
way.
Someone even teased, “Mr. Eliot, you really do have deep pockets. Got guts, too.”
Logan could hear sarcasm in their voices, but he just chuckled and played along, hoping to smooth things over and get past the awkward moment.

He’d expected them to knock his number down a notch, but to his shock, they just handed him the exact percentage he’d asked for, no haggling, no pushback.
Seeing the jealous looks on everyone’s faces, Logan was riding high. When the meeting wrapped up, he made a beeline for the one who’d given him the green light to join and thanked the personally, again and again.
The guy raised his hand, brushing off Logan’s thanks. “Mr. Eliot, no need for all the gratitude. The bigger the slice you get, the bigger the risk you shoulder. So it’s only fair.”
Logan still didn’t catch what was really being said, just kept nodding along, totally oblivious.
Seeing that Logan was still clueless, the guy finally laid it out for him. “Mr. Eliot, you’ve been running Eliot Group for years. You know the drill, and I don’t need to spell it out.
“This project’s huge, and it’ll take a hefty upfront investment. We’re all putting in cash based on our shares. Take a good look at the contract and get your money lined up for your share.”
