With that thought, Logan sent a message with the bar’s location and a photo of Eliana.
Almost immediately, he got a reply: [Understood.]
Logan stared at the message, coldness in his eyes. He slowly looked up, his gaze landing on Eliana once more.
Logan clenched his fists tightly, watching Eliana for a long moment before turning and walking out.
At this point, Eliana had already put her run–in with Logan out of her mind.

‘Logan turned out to be even worse than I thought,‘ Eliana mused, ‘but I doubt he’d actually go so far as to hurt me. With that, she decided not to dwell on it.
Even though she was having fun, Eliana made sure not to get wasted. After all, they were in a bar, and she couldn’t shake off a lingering sense of unease.
When she felt the alcohol starting to hit her, Eliana quickly grabbed Irene’s arm. Eliana said, “Let’s head out. If we keep drinking, we’ll get too drunk. Just the two of us here, it’s not safe.”
Irene still wanted to party a bit longer, but she knew Eliana had a point. She nodded, “Okay, let’s go home.”
With that, they just packed up their stuff and headed out.
Since both of them had been drinking, Irene went ahead and called for a designated driver.
When the driver showed up, Irene told him to take Eliana home first, then drop her off afterwards. The driver nodded.
Once they were in the car, the two of them just chatted away in the back seat, totally oblivious to the driver watching them closely through the rearview mirror.
After confirming that Eliana was his target, a faint smile appeared on his lips as he kept driving, not missing a beat.
But instead of following the GPS, he purposely took them down some secluded roads.
Even though she’d had a few drinks, Eliana still recognized the way home.
So after they’d been driving for a short while, Eliana sensed something was off. She furrowed her brows anxiously and spoke up, “Why aren’t you following the GPS? Just stick to the route, don’t take these weird side roads.”
Realizing Eliana had caught on, the driver didn’t hesitate. He snatched a packet of powder from beside him and flung it into the back seat.
Panic filled Eliana’s eyes as she threw up her arm to block it, but the powder was impossible to stop. She ended up breathing in a bunch of it.
She desperately tried to open the window, but as soon as her hand touched the door, her mind went fuzzy, and she slumped
over, unconscious.
Irene wasn’t any luckier.
Irene had had more to drink than Eliana, so she was out before she even knew what hit her.
Once both girls had passed out, the driver finally let a sinister smile creep across his face.

He pulled over, whipped out his phone, and kept comparing the photo to Eliana’s face, just to be sure. Satisfied, he hauled Irene out and left her on the side of the road, then sped away with Eliana, still knocked out in the back seat.
Irene was out cold by the side of the road for a long time before someone finally spotted her and took her to the hospital, where she eventually woke up.
When Irene finally came to, she was still groggy and had no idea where she was or what had happened.
She sat on the hospital bed, massaging her head for a long time. It wasn’t until the person who’d brought her in said they’d found her passed out on the roadside that it finally hit her, and she started frantically searching for her phone.
“Has anyone seen my phone? I need to call the cops, my friend’s in trouble, I just know it!” Irene blurted out, her voice trembling with panic.
Seeing how desperate Irene was, the people around her didn’t hesitate and quickly handed her the phone they’d found next to her yesterday.
“Miss, don’t get too worked up,” someone said.
She continued, “We only saw you out there, but that doesn’t mean your friend is definitely in trouble. Why not try calling her first? Maybe she just got too drunk and lost track of you. You don’t want to make a false report, right?”
Irene was panicking, but she realized she was right. She hurried to call Eliana.
No one picked up, and just as Irene was about to call the police, she saw that her phone was blowing up with missed calls from Sarah.
She figured Sarah must be worried because Eliana hadn’t come home yet.
Not sure how to explain things to Sarah, Irene didn’t dare call her back. Instead, she just called the police and told them what happened last night, as best as she could.
“Yeah, that driver was definitely sketchy. He tossed some powder at us and the next thing I knew, we were out cold,” Irene said, her hands trembling as she spoke.
“But I wasn’t hurt or anything. He just left me on the roadside. My phone and cash are all here, so it’s obvious they were after Eliana, and only her,” Irene added, her voice shaky with fear.
“She literally just got divorced yesterday, and things blew up with her ex. Now this? Something’s seriously wrong here. Please, you have to investigate. If you wait, it might be too late,” Irene begged, her voice cracking with desperation.
Even after the officer promised to look into it, Irene still felt uneasy, her nerves stretched tight.
But she had no way to dig deeper herself, worrying alone wouldn’t solve anything.
Right now, the only person who had the power to help, and would be freaking out just like me, was Nathan, Irene thought.
With that in mind, she called up Nathan right away.
Nathan was in the middle of an overseas conference call when Irene’s name popped up on his phone. His brow furrowed, his first instinct was to decline the call.
But after a split second of hesitation, he answered anyway.
Every time Irene called, it was always about Eliana. So, of course, Nathan’s first thought was that this had something to do
with Eliana.

As soon as the call connected, before Nathan could even get a word out, Irene’s voice burst through, choked with sobs. “Nathan, please, you have to find out where they took Eliana! She’s missing, I can’t find her anywhere!”
Irene’s voice shaking, Irene told Nathan everything that happened last night, recounting the whole nightmare in a rush.
“He was still driving my car when he dumped me, but I don’t know if he switched vehicles after that. Is there any way you can find Eliana fast?” Irene pleaded, her voice trembling.
“This was a targeted kidnapping. They’re going to do something terrible to Eliana. I just know it,” she cried, panic rising in her voice.
“Nathan, you’re the only one who can help. Please, I’m begging you, save Eliana!” Irene sobbed.
When Irene’s words hit him, Nathan’s expression turned grim. He didn’t hesitate to end the conference call, his voice low and serious. “Don’t worry, I’ll start looking right away.”
He didn’t waste a single second. Nathan immediately called his team, telling them to check every street camera along the route and try to locate Eliana’s phone signal.
