Chapter 129
Right now, in a warehouse out in the suburbs, Eliana was just coming to.

As soon as she woke up, a stabbing pain exploded in her head. Eliana instinctively held her head, her brows furrowing in pain.
Before Eliana could even gather her thoughts, the person in front of her lashed out with a kick.
Eliana was knocked to the ground, her head banging against the cold concrete. The pain drained all color from her face.
Struggling to lift her gaze, Eliana saw that the person standing in front of her was the same ride–share driver from yesterday.
The instant she recognized him, it dawned on her that she’d been kidnapped, and she was the one they were after.
Fighting through the pain in her head, Eliana forced herself to look around.
The place was an abandoned warehouse, with a few shelves so caked in dust Eliana couldn’t even make out if anything was still sitting on them.
From what Eliana could see, there was only one way in or out, and it was locked tight. Escaping by herself was pretty much impossible.
The only thing Eliana could be even a little grateful for was that there was just one kidnapper. Maybe, just maybe, she could outsmart him.
Eliana’s mind was spinning, but when she finally spoke, her voice trembled with panic. “Who… Who are you? I don’t even know you. Why are you doing this?” Eliana pleaded, her eyes wide with fear.
“Who sent you? How much are they paying you? Whatever it is, I’ll double it. Seriously, I’ll pay you twice as much. We can even put it in writing if you want,” Eliana bargained desperately.
“You won’t have to risk kidnapping me, and you’ll walk away with more cash. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, doesn’t it?” Eliana tried to reason, hoping to sway him.
Eliana was sure she didn’t know this guy at all.
Eliana wasn’t the type to make enemies. Logan was the only exception. Other than him, she never had any real grudges with
anyone.
The second Logan’s name popped into her head, something clicked for Eliana.
She’d run into Irene at the bar, and when she left and called for a ride, the driver turned out to be this guy.
She’d already felt something was off yesterday, which was why she’d hurried Irene out of there. She just never expected that Logan had already set things in motion.
Eliana never imagined Logan could hate her this much, enough to have her kidnapped and tortured like this.
Even though Eliana had already figured it out, she didn’t dare let her suspicious slip.
She had no way of knowing if Logan was somewhere nearby, watching everything that happened. If he realized she’d caught on, he might just kill her to silence her.
Right now, nothing mattered more than making it out of here alive.

Eliana had only just escaped Logan’s grasp, and her life was finally about to turn around. If she died now, it would be the ruelest irony.
Thinking that, Eliana couldn’t help but glance anxiously at the man in front of her, nerves stretched tight as she waited for his reply.
The man listened to Eliana’s shaky offer, eyeing her scared little face. A sly smile tugged at his lips.
Honestly, what you said does sound pretty tempting. If I hadn’t seen how stunning you are, I might’ve actually agreed,” he huckled, sounding almost regretful.
But come on, you’re way too beautiful. A girl like you isn’t something money can just buy,” he grinned, his gaze lingering reedily.
Besides, I heard Nathan Turner is crazy about you. Just imagining getting a taste of the same woman as Mr. Turner? That’s a hrill no amount of cash could ever match,” he said, his smile growing as Eliana’s fear deepened.
As he spoke, the man watched Eliana’s terrified face, and his smirk grew even wider.
He slowly crouched down in front of Eliana, his tone almost casual. “No need to be so scared. Honestly, if you just play along nd treat me right, I might let you off easy. Save yourself some pain.”
saying that, he moved closer, trying to yank at Eliana’s clothes.
Eliana instinctively recoiled, scrambling back from his reach.
But Eliana knew better than to piss him off. Nothing good would come of that.
So after dodging his grab, she choked out, “I don’t know who told you that, but it’s just not true. Mr. Turner and I only work ogether. That’s it. There’s absolutely nothing going on between us.”
Seriously, don’t let yourself get played by someone with an agenda,” Eliana pleaded, her voice shaking.
Eliana kept talking, desperately trying to buy herself more time.
My parents will definitely notice I didn’t come home last night. They’ve probably already called the police. If I can just hang ›n until they get here, I’ll be okay. I have to be,‘ Eliana thought, clinging to hope.
But as soon as she finished speaking, the man grabbed a fistful of her hair and yanked her forward. “I don’t give a damn what’s going on between you and him. If you try to dodge me again, don’t expect any mercy from me.”
If you try to run again, I’ll keep at it until you’re too scared to fight back or can’t even move, you hear me?” he growled, his grip tightening.
His grip was so brutal, it felt like he was about to tear her scalp clean off.
Tears welled up in Eliana’s eyes, and she blurted out, “I heard you, I heard you…”
Seeing that she was finally being obedient, the man loosened his grip a little.
Eliana blurted out, her voice shaking with fear. “Just one more thing, what happened to the girl who was with me yesterday? Did you hurt her?”
Eliana was genuinely worried about Irene’s safety.
Just because she was the target didn’t mean Irene was safe.

Chapter 129
After all, this guy was ruthless. He was capable of anything.
If this guy thought Irene was cute, he might just do something to her just because he felt like it.
The more Eliana thought about it, the more anxious she became.
Eliana thought, ‘If Irene got dragged into this because of me, I’d never forgive myself.’
Right now, all Eliana wanted was to know if Irene was safe.
Seeing Eliana’s terrified face, the guy got a kick out of it. He was clearly enjoying toying with her.

‘She can’t even protect herself, and now she’s worried about her friend? Like she could do anything about it, he sneered to himself.
“But hey, I’ll tell you anyway. Your friend might not be quite as hot as you, but she’s still a looker.
“Once I got her in my car, no way I was gonna let that chance slip by, you get what I mean?” he said, his voice full of twisted
amusement.
“But he doesn’t want her. And there was no cash in it for me, so I wasn’t about to waste my time. I just helped myself,” he added, his tone cold and mocking.
He leaned in, his voice dripping with malice as he looked down at Eliana.
He said, “Right there in the car, with you sitting right next to us, I slept with your friend. After I was done, I even helped her get dressed, then just tossed her out on the side of the road.”
‘Compared to that, don’t you think I’ve actually been pretty decent to you? At least I didn’t just leave you out there, I brought you back here,” he sneered, pride twisted in his voice.
“Your friend? Man, she’s got it rough. By now, someone’s probably found her, barely dressed and totally exposed. I wonder how she’s gonna deal with that,” he said, mocking her.
Then, out of nowhere, his tone turned serious. “Honestly, she’s only suffering because of you.”
