Once Logan agreed, the person on the other end laughed and hung up.

Logan didn’t dare waste any time. He quickly went to the bank to withdraw 90 thousand, stuffed it into a backpack, and then drove toward the meeting place they had named.
On the way, Logan didn’t overthink it. He just figured he was paying to keep things quiet.
When he arrived at the destination and saw how deserted the place was, he still didn’t think much of it.
As far as he was concerned, there was no bad blood between him and these people, so he figured they were only after the
money.
With that in mind, after parking his car, Logan got out and called the guy.
‘I’m here. Where are you guys?” Logan asked.
As soon as Logan spoke, the person on the other end chuckled. “Didn’t expect you to actually keep your word, Mr. Eliot.”
We’re here too,” the guy replied.
As soon as the guy finished speaking, Logan saw a van pull up right in front of him.
Soon, a group of guys got out and headed straight for him.
Why’d you bring so many people?” Logan frowned, looking at the guy in front of him.
But he didn’t dwell on it. He just handed over the backpack. “Here’s the 90 thousand dollars in cash you wanted, not a cent nissing. And I want you to keep this buried. Don’t breathe a word to anyone, got it?”
The guy grinned as he took the backpack from Logan.
Mr. Eliot, you really are generous. You just hand it over like that,” the guy said.
Logan felt a twinge of unease at the guy’s mocking laugh, but he still frowned and said, “As long as you keep your word.”
But before Logan could finish, the guy just tossed the backpack aside.
Showing up means you’re owning up to what you did, huh, Mr. Eliot?” the guy sneered.
By the way, someone sent us to see how you’d react, Mr. Eliot,” the guy added.
If you hadn’t come, we couldn’t have done anything to you. We’ve got our own code, we don’t mess with the wrong people,” the guy said.
‘But now that you’re here, it looks like we guessed right about you,” the guy said.
“Nothing personal, Mr. Eliot, but someone paid us 900 thousand dollars to get back at you for Ms. Lyons, the guy added
As he spoke, the guy shot a look at his crew, and they immediately closed in, surrounding Logan,
It was only then that Logan realized they were here for him.
Unease flooded Logan, and he tried to protest, but the guy didn’t give him a chance.

One of them smashed a fist into Logan’s face, knocking him sideways.
Then the whole crew descended on him, fists and boots raining down as they beat him mercilessly.

Logan’s threats and cries of struggle were completely drowned out by them. In the end, he could only curl up, covering his head, trying to shield himself from the blows.
But no matter how he tried to cover up or dodge, it didn’t matter, the blows just kept coming, merciless and unforgiving.
After a while, Logan was so battered and numb he started to wonder if they really meant to beat him to death.
But just as he was about to black out, they finally stopped.
The leader crouched down in front of Logan, his voice cold and serious. “This is just a warning, Logan. Eliana Lyons is someone you should never mess with. Understand?”
“Having her was a blessing, but you blew it,” the leader said.
“Now that you’re divorced, just don’t go near her again,” the leader warned.
“Take your loss like a man. Don’t get bitter just because your ex is doing better than you. If you keep this up, you’ll only end up screwing yourself over,” the leader added.
As the guy spoke, Logan almost saw a reflection of Nathan in his face.
Logan’s chest tightened. So Nathan really did send these guys after him.
Nathan must’ve figured out Logan was behind Eliana’s kidnapping, so he sent this whole crew for payback.
Once he realized this, the emotions in Logan’s eyes became all the more obvious.
He and Nathan had now become sworn enemies for good.
If he ever got the chance, he’d make sure Nathan was ruined for good.
But right now, he didn’t dare let even a trace of those feelings show.
He was completely rattled after that beating, so no matter what they said, he just nodded meekly, not daring to utter a single word
The guys around him, finally getting to look down on Logan in his misery, started jeering. “Isn’t this the famous Mr. Elion? Now look at him, pathetic as a beaten dog.”
“Seriously, we used to only see this guy on TV, and now he’s just a kicked–out mutt. What a joke,‘ another snickered.
“He was whining and begging for mercy when we were beating him. I thought these big–shot CEOs were supposed to be different, but turns out they’re just like everyone else,” someone else sneered.
“More than that, he’s downright small–minded Didn’t you hear? He tried to get back at his ex–wife just because she’s living better than he is after the divorce. That’s why he went to all this trouble,” another guy scoffed.
“Honestly, he’s not even as good as an average guy, someone else added.
The mocking and jeering kept coming from all around, and Logan clenched his lists tightly, but he kept his mouth shut.
Logan made a silent vow, if he ever got the chance, he’d make sure these guys paid for this,

The leader watched as Logan huddled there, not moving a muscle. Then he walked over, picked up the, and grinned. ‘Since you’re so generous, Mr. Eliot, we’ll just take this as our payment for the trouble.”
“Hell yeah, beating you was hard work. My fists are all messed up. You better pay up for that,” one of the guys snickered.
As they laughed and joked, one of them even had his eye on Logan’s car and just hopped right in.
The car and the van drove off, one after the other.
Logan heard his car being driven off, and a cold dread settled in his gut.
He tried to prop himself up for a look, but he’d been beaten so badly it took everything he had just to sit up.
Watching both vehicles disappear, panic hit him hard. He started scrambling for his phone, hoping to call for help.
But after searching around, he realized that his phone had been knocked away during the fight and had been run over by a car. It was already completely broken.
He dragged himself over and picked up the phone, but seeing the busted screen, hopelessness washed over him.
With his car gone and his phone gone, no one knew where he was anymore, which meant he had no choice but to walk all the way back from here.
