When it finally hit him, Logan completely broke down.
He’d just driven all the way out here, so he knew exactly how far he was from both the office and home.
He was covered in injuries, and even driving back would be a struggle, let alone walking.

Hearing Logan’s voice, Hannah snapped awake, sitting up straight. “Logan? What’s wrong? Why are you still out at this hour?”
“Whose phone are you using? Where’s your phone? Why are you calling me from someone else’s phone?” she asked.
Listening to the string of questions from Hannah, Logan frowned slightly and said helplessly. “Mom, I really don’t have time for all these questions right now. I’m giving you the address. Can you hurry over and get me?”
“If you don’t want to get out of bed, just send a driver or someone, anyone. Just pretend you’re coming to rescue me, okay?”
Logan’s whole body was throbbing with pain, and hearing Hannah fuss about stuff that didn’t matter just made him feel even more miserable and wronged inside.
He knew it was wrong to think this way, but right then, he found himself thinking about Eliana.
Back when he was with Eliana, if something happened, all it took was a single call, she wouldn’t even ask why, she’d just show up for him.
But now, not even his own mom would do that for him.
“Logan, why are you getting all upset? I’ll be right there. Did something happen again?” Hannah said.
“Logan, don’t you think you’ve been stirring up so much drama lately?”
“You really can’t keep doing this. Every time Eliana’s not around, everything falls apart. People are starting to say the Eliot family only stayed together because of her.”
“Word’s already getting around, you really need to be careful about this.”
Listening to Hannah ramble on nonstop, Logan truly didn’t want to hear a single extra word.
But he couldn’t risk tuning her out, if she got pissed, she might not show up at all. So he just had to suck it up and listen.
At least, after all her rambling, he finally heard the sound of her car engine starting in the background.
The driver, clearly losing patience, shot Logan a look and asked, “Are you done? Can I have my phone back now?”
Logan hurriedly handed the phone back, mumbling his thanks again and again.
The driver glanced at Logan, hesitated for a second, and then asked, “Are you sure you don’t want me to call the cops or take you to the hospital?”
Logan shook his head quickly.
Right now, there was no way he could risk calling the police, if they started asking questions about what he’d done before. he’d be totally screwed.
If possible, he just hoped Nathan would let him off the hook and consider the matter settled between them
Thinking that, Logan looked at the driver and said seriously. “Thanks so much for helping me, but it’s really just a mix–up. I don’t want to blow things up, so really, no need to call the police

Logan knew it would take Hannah some time to drive from home, but he never expected her to be this slow.

He just squatted there by the roadside like a fool, with every passing car and pedestrian giving him curious looks, making him feel like he was some kind of sideshow attraction.
Thankfully, this area was still pretty remote, so not many people recognized him, at least he could deal with that much.
After what felt like forever, Hannah finally showed up.
‘Logan, what on earth are you doing out here in the middle of nowhere?” Hannah grumbled.
As Hannah got out of the car, she was still grumbling, but when she finally saw what Logan looked like, her eyes widened in shock. “What happened to you? How did you get hurt this badly?”
