Logan wasn’t about to haggle over such a small amount, so he quickly took out his phone and transferred the money.

He’d always known Eliana had gone overseas to look for him, but he’d figured she was too naive and helpless to actually find him before things went south.

‘So is there something I’m missing here?‘ he wondered.
Why could she remember everything so clearly and lay out every detail, while when he’d asked Isabella before, she didn’t know a thing?
‘Was it really Eliana who put herself on the line to save me back then?‘ Logan wondered.
Once that thought hit him, Logan couldn’t stay put, he was getting restless.
He grabbed his phone and dialed Andrew.
‘Find out if Isabella was actually there when that accident happened overseas five years ago,” he said.
“It’s been years, but this time, I need answers. I don’t care what it takes, just make sure you find out the truth,” he insisted.
Hearing how serious Logan sounded, Andrew didn’t dare delay and answered immediately, “Yes, Mr. Eliot. You can count on me, I’ll get to the bottom of it.”
Back then, Andrew was the only one who believed Eliana.

After realizing it was just a mix–up, Eliana breathed a sigh of relief, but she couldn’t shake off a nagging thought, ‘Sorry, but do I know the person on the other end? Why did she keep dragging out the conversation?‘ she wondered.
“Your husband said you two had a fight, but he just really wanted to hear your voice, so he ended up doing something like this,” the front desk explained.
“I know it’s not really my business to get involved in your marriage, but maybe try not to let this happen again,” the front desk added.
Eliana knew that for people who didn’t know the real story, it was tough for outsiders to judge what was really going on.
She didn’t care what others thought, and she wasn’t about to debate right or wrong with a stranger, so Eliana just responded, “Got it, I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again next time.”
But after hanging up, Eliana was still feeling pretty annoyed.
She was honestly about to lose it with Logan’s relentless clinginess.

Eliana picked up, in a good mood. “Hey, you free tonight? Wanna grab dinner and hit the shops?”

“Eliana, you wouldn’t believe how crazy they are. They arranged the whole date without even asking me. I have no way out, if I cancel, they’ll probably storm my office. I’d die of embarrassment, Irene complained.
“So this is a total emergency, you absolutely have to come with me tonight, Irene begged.
After hearing all that, Eliana finally caught on. “So you want me to tag along for your blind date tonight?”
Irene replied right away, “Exactly! That’s what I mean.”
