The way he addressed Eliana made Nathan visibly happier, and he instantly warmed up to the client in front of him.
He stepped forward, his tone polite. He said, “Sorry for the embarrassment, Mr. Campbell.”
Mr. Campbell waved his hand. “Mr. Turner, you’re way too polite. Honestly, I’m just glad you don’t treat me like a stranger. I’m actually happy about it.”
He added, “When everyone was saying you were single, I never believed it. Someone as outstanding and capable as you? No way you’d be single. I bet people have been lining up for you since day one.”
He grinned. “So, Mr. Turner, are you secretly married?”
“Nope, I really was single before. Just started seeing someone recently,” Nathan said casually, not bothered at all.
Mr. Campbell looked a little embarrassed and quickly cleared his throat. He said, “Sorry about that, Mr. Turner. I honestly had no idea.”
“It’s fine. Let’s get down to business,” Nathan said.
As he spoke, Nathan glanced at Bobby and gave him a few quick instructions. Bobby nodded immediately, said a quick goodbye to the client, and then turned to leave.
Only then did Nathan lead the client forward.
Upon hearing Nathan’s instructions, the client could instantly tell how much Nathan cared for Eliana. He started laying on the flattery thick, saying all the right things to win Nathan over.
A faint smile tugged at Nathan’s lips. He didn’t say much, but he still led the client inside.
Meanwhile, as soon as Eliana and Irene stepped out, they spotted Bobby waiting around the corner.
“Bobby?” Eliana looked surprised. “Did you need something?”
‘Mr. Turner sent me over. He said I should stick with you today. If you want to grab a bite, I’ll make the reservation.
“If you’re going shopping, I’ll get you coffee, carry your bags, and of course, pay for everything,” Bobby said, looking dead
serious.
Bobby looked at Eliana, his expression completely straight–faced as he spoke.
For Bobby, helping Nathan win Eliana over was now one of his top priorities, maybe even the most important thing on his to–do list.
Irene blinked in surprise, then burst out laughing. “No way, Eliana, seriously? Nathan’s been single for over ten years, and now he’s suddenly so smooth?”
She added, “I guess I was worrying about him for nothing. I kept thinking that, after all these years, he’d forgotten how even to pursue someone.
“But clearly, he doesn’t need me worrying about him at all.”
But to Eliana, Bobby’s dead–serious tone just made the whole thing feel weirdly hilarious.
She looked at Bobby and said seriously, “Please thank Mr. Turner for his kindness, but really, it’s not necessary. I want to

hang out and shop with my friend, and having you with us would make things a little awkward.”
Bobby didn’t look surprised at all, like he’d seen this coming from a mile away.

He nodded again, then handed Eliana a card. “Mr. Turner figured you’d say that. If you didn’t want me following you around, he asked me to give you this card. And he also wanted me to tell you something.”
Eliana tried to keep her calm and looked at Bobby. She said, “Go ahead.”
“Mr. Turner said if you ever want someone to support you, it has to be him. He’s not only able to, but he actually wants to,” Bobby said.
With that, Bobby quickly said goodbye to Eliana and hurried off.
Irene was laughing so hard she could barely stand up.
Eliana gave Irene a look and pinched her arm. Eliana said, “Irene, quit laughing at me!
“I only said that to help you ditch that loser. How was I supposed to know Nathan would overhear, and now he won’t let it go?”
“But seriously, you’re not allowed to laugh at me, okay?” Eliana insisted.
The more Eliana tried to shut her down, the harder Irene cracked up, clutching her stomach.
“Alright, alright, I won’t laugh, I won’t laugh…” Irene promised, but she was still giggling uncontrollably.
Irene kept insisting she wouldn’t laugh, but she couldn’t stop giggling.
“But for real, the way he gets jealous is honestly hilarious. He’s totally into you, you know? You really scared him with that one line to someone else,” Irene said, finally getting a bit more serious.
Irene’s eyes softened as she added, “Honestly, seeing you guys so happy just makes me happy too, Eliana.”
Irene went on, “I’ve always had this feeling you two would get back together. Maybe it’s just me, but you guys were so perfect back in school. Honestly, seeing you two together is the only thing that ever made me believe in love again.
*Seriously, I’m just so glad you guys found your way back to each other, Eliana. Thanks for restoring my faith in love.”
Irene said, half–joking, half–serious. Her gaze zeroed in on the black card in Eliana’s hand and said, “Whoa, a black card? You gonna use it, Eliana?”
Eliana caught Irene’s look and couldn’t help but laugh. “Should I use it to buy you dinner?”
Irene nodded like crazy and said, “Then let’s skip this place. Let’s hit that revolving restaurant across the street. I’ve wanted to eat there forever, but I’ve never been able to justify the splurge.
“I was gonna wait until your company took off so I could make you treat me, but forget it, let’s just let Nathan pay for everything tonight.”
Irene grinned, “Seriously, he owes me a meal. If I hadn’t been running interference for you two, you wouldn’t have gotten back together this fast.
“So if he managed to win you back, I deserve at least half the credit. And if you two ever tie the knot, I’d better be sitting in
the front row.”

Eliana let out a helpless laugh, her eyes full of affection. She said, “When I get married, you’re definitely my maid of honor. You’ll have the best seat in the house, no question.”
Irene instantly hugged Eliana’s arm. “If I’m still single, I’m your maid of honor for sure. But what if I beat you to it and get married first?”
Eliana just smiled, not bothered by Irene’s usual antics, and said warmly, “Let’s go. Revolving restaurant, here we come!”
Eliana thought, ‘Back when I was stuck living with the Eliots, I barely had a cent to my name. So every time we went out, Irene was the one footing the bill. Eventually, Irene just got used to picking up the tab.
“The Eliot family had money to burn, but nobody ever thought that someone just staying home with the kids might actually need cash. So no one ever bothered to give me any.
‘I was stubborn. I refused to ask for money, so for ages, I was basically broke.
‘But things are different now.
‘Ever since I left Logan, I’m finally financially independent. Dinner was nothing. I could easily treat Irene myself, even without using Nathan’s card.
‘But Irene still hadn’t caught up. She was always trying to save me money, even without thinking about it.
‘I was touched by her thoughtfulness, so I didn’t say anything. I just grabbed Irene’s hand and led her straight to the revolving restaurant.’
