Chapter 47
“Mr. Eliot,” Tobias was the first to spot Logan. The moment he saw Logan, Tobias breathed a sigh of relief and eagerly walked over to greet him.
Eliana immediately tensed up. This was way too much of a coincidence. She had come here to meet Tobias, and now Logan had shown up too. Watching Tobias eagerly greet Logan, Eliana figured it all out.
Honestly, ever since Tobias kept making excuses, she was pretty sure Logan had something to do with it. Now, that just proved her right.
So Eliana didn’t even bat an eye. She just nodded at Logan, then gestured for Tobias to follow her. “Mr. Watson, this way, please.”
Tobias hadn’t expected Eliana’s cold reaction to Logan’s arrival. His face immediately turned awkward, but he didn’t say anything else. He just forced a smile and followed Eliana to a nearby lounge.
“Mr. Eliot, sorry, I’ll be back in a minute,” Tobias said before leaving.
“Wait a second,” Logan called out just as Tobias was about to leave. “Mr. Watson, sorry, but I need to speak with my wife for a moment. Could you give us a minute?”
“Of course.” Tobias had been waiting for this. He nodded eagerly and hurried off.
“Mr. Watson,” Eliana tried to call out to Tobias, but Logan caught her wrist and led her straight over to an empty private
room.
“Logan, what are you doing? Let go of me,” Eliana demanded, frowning.
She tried to break free, but Logan easily overpowered her. No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t escape, and he pulled her into the room.
The door slammed shut behind them, and the room was dim, with only a faint light coming through the closed windows.
She felt uneasy being alone with Logan in this room, so she tried to move past him and head outside. But before she could get far, Logan pulled her right back.
She ended up right in his arms, annoyance bubbling up inside her. She pushed him away hard.
But before she could get a word out, Logan said, “Have you been drinking? Eliana, how could you even think of drinking?”
“Why shouldn’t I? Logan, can you stop being so unreasonable?” Eliana shot back. “We’re about to get divorced, so keep your distance from me.”
Logan sneered. “As long as we go through all the legal procedures, you’re still my wife, Eliana. Don’t forget that.”
Logan stepped right up to Eliana, gritting his teeth. “I haven’t even asked you yet. We’re not divorced, and you’re already getting cozy with Nathan. What are you trying to do, piss me off
“Or do you think I won’t turn my back on the baby you’re carrying, so you can just do whatever you want?”
Logan was practically seething as he spoke, but Eliana was left totally baffled. She honestly had no idea what Logan was going on about with all this nonsense.
Everything he’d said before was already crazy enough, but when he dropped that last line, Eliana’s attention zeroed in on it.
“Logan, I don’t have time for your nonsense. If something’s wrong with you, go to the hospital. Stop acting paranoid,” Eliana snapped.

Logan let out another cold laugh. “You really think you can keep this under wraps? How long are you planning to hide it? Until it’s too late for an abortion and then you’ll finally tell me?
“Eliana, don’t you think you’ve been crossing the line lately? You really think just because you’re pregnant, you can walk all over me now?”
Eliana was seriously fed up with Logan’s nonsense. Not wanting to waste another second here, Eliana said seriously, “Logan, I don’t have time to put up with your nonsense. I’m not pregnant, okay?
“And honestly, shouldn’t you know better than anyone if I’m pregnant or not?”
Ever since Samuel came along, they’d been sleeping in separate rooms. ‘How could I possibly be pregnant? What, is this supposed to be immaculate conception?‘ Eliana thought, exasperated.
“That night, I was totally wasted…” Logan said.
Her face fell even more as she snapped, “Nothing happened.”
That night, Logan really did stumble into her room drunk. Eliana thought maybe things were finally getting better between them, so she tried to ask him how he really felt about Isabella.
But even though he was that drunk, the moment she mentioned Isabella, he still shot back coldly, asking why she was always going after Isabella.
Even in a moment like that, he still defended Isabella. Eliana just felt like there was nothing left to say to him.
After she kept pressing him, Logan just lost interest and left without another word. So nothing happened at all that night.
But to Logan, her emotional reaction was just proof she was embarrassed and angry.
“Eliana, there was nothing going on between Isabella and I. You’re just blowing things up because you’re jealous. I’ve told you a million times, Isabella is a close friend to me.
“She’s my parents‘ close friend’s daughter. So what if I look out for her? Why can’t you just deal with it? Do you really have to make such a big deal out of this?” Logan said.
Eliana was honestly sick and tired of Logan’s absurd self–assurance.
She stared him down, making sure he caught every word. “Logan, I’m asking for a divorce because I want a divorce. You and your whole family don’t need to turn this into some kind of soap opera.
“When the cooling–off period is over, whoever doesn’t show up at the courthouse is a loser.”
With that, Eliana turned to leave. But just as she reached the door, Logan’s voice called out from behind her.
“Eliana, you sound so sure of yourself. Is it because you think Nathan’s backing you up now? So what’s really going on between you two?
“Or is it that there’s always been something going on between you and Nathan, and that’s why you’re so dead set on getting divorced this time?” Logan pressed.
Logan’s words made Eliana scoff. “Logan, do you really think turning this around on me is clever? Are you seriously telling me you have no clue what Isabella thinks of you?
“Yet you keep her so close, always calling her your close friend. You keep lecturing me about boundaries, but do you even have any yourself?
“We’re getting divorced because I’m done trying to make this work with you. Do you finally get it?”
