When Logan showed up, those “homeless guys” just stuck to the story even harder and wouldn’t budge.
In the end, with no solid evidence and Logan bailing them out, the whole thing was quietly swept under the rug.
As they walked out, Eliana gave Logan a cold look and turned away from him, her eyes full of icy indifference.
“Eliana, can’t you just let me finish?” Logan said, his face dark and his voice low.
“I have nothing to say to someone who can’t tell right from wrong” Eliana turned and headed straight for her car.
As she opened the car door, she saw Logan still standing a little ways off, watching her. Eliana turned back, her voice sharp, “Logan, I’ve never seen anyone distort the truth like you do.
“I’ll take the hit this time, but you better tell her to be careful. If she tries this again, I’ll make sure she gets a taste of her own medicine.
“Since you all prefer playing dirty instead of handling things legally, fine, I can play that game too.”
With that, Eliana yanked open the car door, got in, and drove off
Hannah, who had been focused on taking care of Samuel, saw Logan’s silent reaction to Eliana’s words and couldn’t hold back her annoyance. “When did you become so soft? You’re just going to let her insult you like that?”
Logan took a deep breath and turned to Hannah. “She’s pregnant.”
Those words hit like a ton of bricks, leaving both Hannah and Isabella completely stunned.
Isabella couldn’t hide the panic and jealousy in her eyes.
‘If Eliana keeps this baby, Logan and Eliana will always be connected. So what was the point of all my scheming these past few days?‘ Isabella wondered, frustration bubbling up inside her.
Hannah, recovering from the shock, immediately spoke out. “Even if she’s pregnant, you can’t just spoil her. If you keep giving in like this, she’ll only get worse.”
Logan nodded, but inside, his thoughts were all tangled up. He had a strong feeling that Eliana was dead serious this time.
But right now, what worried him most was Samuel’s eyesight, so all he could do was take the kid to get his eyes checked.
Once they were in the car, Hannah suddenly remembered that Isabella had taken Samuel to such a desolate place. “Seriously, Isabella? What were you thinking, taking the kid somewhere so remote?
“Thank goodness it was Eliana who ran into those homeless guys and not you. What would have happened if it was you and Samuel out there, and something went wrong?
“Samuel is the Eliot family’s treasure. You can’t take risks like this anymore, got it?” Hannah said.
Isabella nodded quickly. “I know, Hannah. I won’t do it again. Honestly, I didn’t mean to take Samuel somewhere so remote.
“I just thought he was getting a little too timid with Ms. Lyons always looking after him, so I wanted to toughen him up a bit. I figured if he learned to be braver, he wouldn’t get bullied so easily.
“I never thought things would turn out like this. Don’t worry, I promise I won’t do it again.”
After Isabella finished talking, Hannah let it go, but Logan’s brow furrowed as he listened.

He had already seen the messages Isabella had sent Eliana and knew she couldn’t be completely innocent in this.
He’d wanted to find a chance to ask her what was really going on but hearing her still take digs at Eliana, Logan’s expression grew even colder, annoyance simmering beneath the surface.
But with Samuel’s eyesight weighing on his mind, he had no choice but to set his frustration aside for now; right now, nothing was more important than getting Samuel to the hospital
As Logan headed straight for the hospital, Hannah couldn’t help but grumble that he was making a mountain out of a molchill.
She got out of the car with Samuel in her arms and said, “Logan, when did you get so easy for her to manipulate? Do you really just believe whatever she says now?
“I think she was just trying to scare us with all that talk. How could Samuel’s eyesight suddenly go bad in such a short time?
“She just can’t stand not having the kid around, so she’s deliberately looking for trouble. And you actually fell for it and let her drag you into all this.”
Logan took Samuel from Hannah’s arms. “Getting him checked out won’t hurt, will it?” With that, he headed straight in, carrying Samuel.
Hannah was left speechless for a moment, but after a sigh of resignation, she followed him inside.
She wanted to hear for herself what the doctor had to say to determine whether it was really as serious as Eliana claimed.
Hannah believed that, after the doctor’s visit, Logan had come to believe Eliana was just blowing things out of proportion.
But it didn’t take long for Hannah to get proven completely wrong.
When the doctor finished speaking, Hannah stared in shock and disbelief. “That’s impossible. His eyesight has always been perfectly fine.
“How could he suddenly have such severe nearsightedness that he needs surgery? You’re obviously exaggerating.”
Isabella immediately chimed in, echoing Hannah’s disbelief.
‘If Samuel’s eyes really got this bad just because Eliana wasn’t looking after him for a while, then Logan would think Eliana was even more irreplaceable,’ Isabella thought, jealousy burning in her chest.
Isabella snapped, unable to hold back her suspicion. “Did Eliana bribe you to exaggerate how serious this is?”
As soon as Isabella blurted that out, the doctor’s eyes went wide with shock, then quickly darkened with anger.
He fixed his gaze on Logan, speaking firmly. “Mr. Eliot, I’ve been in this profession for years. I don’t joke about my patients‘ health, and I definitely don’t blow things out of proportion.
“Mr. Samuel’s condition is genuinely serious. If you folks don’t trust me, all this suspicion flying around, I honestly don’t dare take on the surgery.”
You should go find another specialist. With
This doctor had been working at Eliot Hospital for years, and Logan had always trusted both his integrity and skills.
Logan did his best to smooth things over, then spoke earnestly, “It’s not that we how his vision could deteriorate so much in just a few weeks.”

“Mr. Samuel’s always had a real tendency to get nearsighted. Every time his mom brought him in for a check–up, I kept reminding her: no sweets, plenty of time outside in the sun, and make sure he’s using his eyes the right way.
“Have you guys actually been sticking to all that lately?” the doctor asked, looking at them seriously.

As the doctor spoke, Logan suddenly remembered all the sweets Isabella would always bring for Samuel whenever she came
over.
Eliana had always been super strict about this kind of thing, which only made Samuel have zero willpower whenever he finally got his hands on something sweet.
Thinking about the trash can overflowing with candy wrappers he’d seen that day, Logan couldn’t help but glance over at Isabella.
