Nathan took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down before peaking seriously. But that night at the charity gala, I heard Amara say it herself, and you didn’t deny h
Elians finally took a moment to really think back to that night.
She’d had way too much to drink and couldn’t remember much Aurora must’ve just been making stuff up I was wasted and barely heard a word she said.
“But Nathan. I can promise you I’m not pregnant, so can you stop making such a big deal out of it?
“How can you be so sure? No birth control is foolproof., Nathan insisted.
“What, do you think I can get pregnant out of thin air?” Eliana shot back, exasperated by his disbelief.
But as soon as she said it, her cheeks turned red. She snapped, “Why am I even talking to you about this? Is your arm hurt or
not?
Nathan caught her meaning, and it took him a moment to finally suppress the smirk threatening to break out.
After tamping down his amusement, he replied, “It’s nothing. Just a scratch.”
Something occurred to him, and he looked up at Eliana. “But I might need to rely on you for the next couple of days. I can’t get this arm wet or move it much, so I’ll need a hand with some things I can’t do myself”
Seeing Nathan being so cheeky, Eliana honestly didn’t want to deal with him at all.
But she couldn’t help it. His arm was hurt because of her, so she reluctantly agreed and asked, “If you’re here for business, how many days will you be staying?”
After everything that happened today, Eliana hadn’t gotten to meet with the other party. She explained the situation and rescheduled for tomorrow.
If everything went smoothly tomorrow, she was planning to head straight back. But if Nathan decided to stay here longer, she’d have no choice but to stick around too.
“It won’t be long. Two or three days, tops,” Nathan replied.
Two or three days was plenty. If he tried to push his luck, she’d probably just find someone else to take care of him. He really did know her well.
Sure enough, after Nathan said that, Eliana nodded. Two or three days wouldn’t make much difference. After all, he’d saved her life, so she really should stick around and look after him.
It was already getting late, so Eliana called for the driver and turned to Nathan. “Where are you staying, Mr. Turner? I’ll drop
you off.”
“Haven’t booked one yet. Since you’ll be taking care of me, guess I’ll just stay at your hotel. Makes things easier, Nathan

replied.
Eliana nodded and asked the staff to set up a room right next to hers.
Nathan followed Eliana all the way to the hotel.
Eliana stopped at her own door and pointed to the room just over there. “Mr. Turner, that’s your room.
The rooms were close, but Nathan looked clearly displeased.
He glanced at the room, then turned to Eliana and said seriously “Honestly, wouldn’t it be easier if we just shared a room? It’s a suite anyway. You take one room, and I’ll…”
Before he could finish. Eliana shut the door in his face without hesitation.
As the door slammed shut, Nathan’s grin faltered, his expression freezing in place. “Man, she’s ruthless,” he said to himself.
Nathan let out a resigned sigh, knowing better than to push his luck, and headed back to his own room.
But soon after, Eliana got a call from Nathan on the room phone
“Eliana, can you come over for a minute? I need help with my chair. I can’t manage with one hand, and I can’t even eat,” Nathan called out.
Eliana had been sorting through her notes for tomorrow, but when she heard Nathan, she put her things down and headed over to help.
Nathan’s door was slightly open. Eliana took a breath and walked inside.
Seeing Nathan actually getting ready to eat, Eliana didn’t say a word. She just helped him scoot his chair up to the table. “Go ahead and sit down. Once you’re settled, I’ll help you get comfortable,” Eliana said, genuinely ready to help him with the
chair.
Nathan sighed. “Did you honestly think I called you over just for the chair? Bet you haven’t eaten yet, have you?
“No matter how much you want to nail this deal, you still gotta eat. I ordered enough for two. Come on, sit down and eat with me.”
Eliana had been so wrapped up in work that she hadn’t even noticed she was hungry. Now that Nathan mentioned it, her stomach suddenly growled, and she realized just how hungry she was.
So she didn’t bother being polite. She just pulled out the chair next to him and started eating.
Her mind was still on work, so Eliana had no intention of taking her time with dinner. She just wanted to finish up back to her tasks.
With her mind elsewhere, she barely spared Nathan a glance.

Nathan stared at her for a good while, and when it was clear she had zero intention of paying him any mind, he couldn’t help but feel a little annoyed.
He let out a soft sigh and said, “So, you’re planning to have Sean Bennett take over Tobias’s project, huh?”
Eliana glanced up. “Yeah, how’d you figure that out?”
“Come on, I put money into your project. Of course I care,” Nathan replied, sounding way too casual. “If you make bank, I get paid too, right?”

He leaned back in his chair with a lazy drawl. “I’ve already given ean the heads–up Everything should be set. Just go sign
the contract with him tofistion.”
“Really?” Chana’s eyes lit up with genuine excitement as she ask her voice full of hope. She’d never even thet Sean before. and honestly, she knew next to nothing about him.
She’d been stressing out, worried that if she said or did the wrong thing, the whole deal could fall apart, and that would be a
total disaster.
But now, with Nathan’s reassurance, she could finally relax.
“When have I ever lied to you?” Nathan said with a straight face so, you got some free time now? Can you help me out with something later?”
