Chapter 60
The footage was clearly from the driver’s perspective, and from the very start, the car was targeting Eliana.
After watching several times, Logan could feel a wave of anxiety surging inside him.
He checked the timestamp. It was from yesterday evening. Without hesitation, he immediately got up and headed out of the hospital room.
“Logan, where are you going? Are you heading out to settle the ore with Eliana?” Aurora pressed.
“Just stay here and keep an eye on Samuel, Logan said, brushing off her question.
With that, he walked out and quickly dialed Andrew. “Find out where Eliana went for her business trip yesterday. And track Isabella’s whereabouts too.”
“Yes,” Andrew replied.
Logan’s face grew even more somber as he listened to Andrew on the other end. His voice was rough as he said, “Also, look into what’s really going on between Eliana and Nathan.
“Is there anything going on between them besides just being high school classmates?”
Even after laying out all his instructions, Logan couldn’t shake off the worry for Eliana that weighed heavy in his chest.
He wanted to call and check on her, but just imagining her with Nathan made his jealousy impossible to ignore.
After a long moment of hesitation, he forced himself to swallow his frustration and headed back to the hospital room.
After Samuel woke up, he kept fussing about how uncomfortable his eyes felt, and Logan just zoned out, not really listening to Aurora’s rambling.
Logan was exhausted, dragging the kid around, while Eliana was out with another man. Watching this left Aurora feeling deeply irritated. If Logan wasn’t going to step up, then she’d handle it herself.
With that thought, Aurora turned and walked away.
Logan had been hoping Aurora would watch Samuel while he handled business at the office, but seeing her leave without even a glance at the kid just made him feel even more frustrated.
Honestly, it was because Eliana had always taken care of all the little things at home so perfectly. He never had to worry about any of it, and never noticed how much he couldn’t count on the rest of his family.
But now, everything felt different. Logan let out a quiet sigh and spent ages trying to comfort Samuel until him finally settled down.
Once Samuel finally drifted off, Logan sat by the bed, and he couldn’t stop thinking about how Eliana used to comfort Samuel.
She’d done this every day for five years, and here he was, barely a month in, already feeling overwhelmed.
Logan didn’t know what was wrong with him, but a dull ache settled in his chest out of nowhere. Sitting alone by the bed, watching Samuel sleep, his mind was suddenly crowded with messy memories from their married life.
All those things he’d never really noticed before were now painfully clear in his mind.
Logan was deep in his own head when his phone suddenly buzzed on the table beside him. Startled, he quickly grabbed his phone and rushed out of the room.

As soon as he picked up. Andrew’s voice came through. “Mi Ms. Hewitt

Lcherked. Mrs. Ellot went to Zrazid yesterday, and so did
“Ms. Hewin headed back to Ockgend late last night, and Eliana est got back a short while ago.
“Talso talked to a few people who went to high school with Eliana and Mr. Turner. According to them, Eliana and Mr. Turner dated back then, but it was just a typical school romances, and it didn’t last.
After Mr. Turner went abroad, they completely lost contact. It wasn’t until he returned this time that they reconnected
And apparently, their breakup was pretty messy. Mr. Turner even transferred schools because of it. So I’m not sure if his past issues with our company have anything to do with Eliana.”
Andrew really laid everything out for him, not holding anything back.
As Logan listened, his thoughts were all over the place. He’d always known Nathan’s hostility toward him had something to do with Eliana, but he doubted it was for the reason Andrew thought.
Guys could always read each other. When Nathan was with Eliana, it wasn’t disgust in his eyes. He still wasn’t over her.
“Did something happen to Eliana yesterday? Did she end up at the hospital?” Logan asked, his voice tight with worry.
Andrew hesitated for a split second before answering carefully, “Yeah, she did go to the hospital, but it looks like she’s fine. Nothing serious.”
Andrew could feel the rest of the words almost slipping out, but he caught himself just in time. Since Logan was only asking about Eliana and not Nathan, he knew better than to volunteer any extra details.
Hearing Andrew’s reply, Logan finally felt the tension in his chest ease up, letting out a quiet sigh of relief.
Good, nothing happened. As long as she and the baby she’s carrying are safe, that’s all that matters,‘ Logan reassured himself.
Logan turned to Andrew and said, “Come over to the hospital and watch Samuel for me. I need to step out for a bit.”
“Yes,” Andrew replied, not wasting a second before heading over.
Once Andrew arrived, Logan went to find Isabella.
Isabella was still feeling pretty pleased with herself. She’d just gotten an international delivery, and inside was the jewelry set she was planning to use to fool Hannah.
She knew Hannah would never notice anything was off, so Isabella was practically glowing with pride. She’d made some money and even earned a favor from Hannah.
Walking back with a spring in her step, Isabella’s mood instantly lifted when she spotted Logan waiting at the door.
‘I knew Logan couldn’t stay mad at me forever,‘ Isabella thought smugly. ‘And sure enough, it’s only been two days and he’s already rushing over to see me!‘
With that thought, the smile in her eyes grew even brighter. But as she walked up to Logan, Isabella made sure to look totally unbothered. “Logan, why are you here?”
Logan finally turned to her, his expression giving nothing away. “Where were you yesterday?”
Isabella hadn’t expected Logan to come over and start grilling her right away. A flicker of panic flashed through her.
But she quickly masked her nerves and put on her best innocent face, “I was at home the whole time. What’s up? Why are you suddenly asking me this?”
