Damien’s Pov
Lady Elara, had been in this kingdom long enough to know how
important she was to me. Saying I couldn’t keep my promises like my
father was wrong, I was nothing like my father.
I was more like my mother, or better still had some traits of Elara as
she had a huge part in my growing up also. She has come into my life
at the right time when I needed her.
Elara was like a big sister even when I still insisted she treated me
with supremacy. She had spent over thirty years in Valthrun. After her
coven was destroyed in Kyraxx, Elara came running for help from my
father, who was king at that time.
Valthrun was suffering grief in that period, especially my father. My mother, Queen Ginavelle had just died, but that wasn’t why Draken was suffering. King Draken had always been a bad king and his people
had no choice but to give in to his authority.
However, Ginavelle ruled differently and most of the people went to her when they had pressing matters. Draken then forbade Ginavelle to attend to kingdom matters and be locked in her chambers most of
the time.

Chapter 106-
Years after, Ginavelle fell sick and told Draken about it. He refused to
attend appropriately to her and in the end, my mother died, cursing
her husband Draken with her blood.
The curse on King Draken caused him plagues like boils and leprosy
all over his body and he could barely speak. Elara had come during
that moment to cry to the King of Valthrun to save her coven from
Kyraxx.
My father at that point had asked what he would get in return if he
helped her coven. He asked if she could heal him of the curse laid on
him by his dead wife and she said she could do it. He was very
delighted.
Elara did as Draken said, healing his curse. Draken asked her to tell
her story and she explained that she had been in the kingdom of
Kyraxx for a while now. The King had to her and her coven promising
to give them a safe space in his kingdom, however, during all their
stay Elara never practiced black magic to the King’s awareness.
But when the King who selfishly wanted power had requested some
black magic from her. She had willingly given him all his help, but in turn, he used it against all the witches, clearing their existence. Elara and her coven fought hard but only she could escape, half were killed
and half were held hostage.
Elara escaped to Valthrun and met Draken then and he had not only

promised her safety in his kingdom but promised her revenge on
Kyraxx and all these years, he never fulfilled any of it. Instead, he
used Elara for all sorts of things.
However, Elara remained kind. She acted like a big sister to me
whenever she visited the castle and she was the only witch the
vampires accepted with open arms.
She had a lot of patience and was a great leader too.
She lost trust in Draken, but I was not like my father. I wasn’t going
to waste any time fighting Kyraxx with her. I just needed to find Freda
first.
But she was hesitant and it hurt that she wouldn’t be helping till I
listened to her request.
I thought long about it before I finally decided. We were going to help
Elara first and then when she gave me a clue about where Freda was, I
would be able to find her easily.
Moreover, we made an oath, an oath with a witch wasn’t something to
be taken lightly. I didn’t just want to lose my life over such a very little thing. We had sworn on death and pitched an oath we’re not to
be joked with.

Chapter 106
We needed troops if we wanted to invade Kyraxx and Elara’s coven out of the place. I would need to inform the nobles about the plan, so
preparations are made instantly and we can leave.
However, a part of me was still thinking I could find Freda on my own, without Elara’s help. This was not coming from a place of betrayal to Elara but was coming from a sense of urgency to me. Was my mate
safe? That was all that bothered me.
As I Isid on the be, Freda, filling my thoughts, a knock came on the door and after ushering the voice in, Christie came in.
“King Damien, your food at the diner is getting stale, please come
eat.” She said,
I sat up on the bed as my gaze reached hers. Food wasn’t my remedy at this point. It was meaningless to me, nothing taste right without
Freda being here.
“Do you not miss her?” I asked Christie, whose eyes turned watery.
“My king, of course, I miss her. How could I not?”
“Then why do you expect me to eat?”
“It is only for strength King Damien. I know you are going to find her

soon and you need a lot of strength for the quest.”
“Where could dye have gone? You’re her maid. How could she not
have mentioned it to you?”
“I’m sorry, King Damien. I didn’t take note of such conversation because I thought Queen Freda loved it here.” She said,
“I thought so too” I muttered under my breath. Christie wasn’t to be blamed, but I still couldn’t stop being mad that there was no clue.
Winston and the rest of the wolves were still very much upset about
their daughter’s disappearance. He had even sent some wolves to check back at the kingdom but none of them had given a meaningful
report.
“You can leave. I’ll hear from you soon.” I told Christie, who nodded
and got out.
