Chapter 108
Damiens pov.
It had been days since the search for Freda commenced, and not a single word or information that could help, I was beginning to think about Elara’s plan, she could help me all I had to do was keep my
promise.
I rose from my seat and made my way out of the throne room when I
stumbled across Uncle William.

“There you are, I have been looking for you, the m-”
“Not now William, I have something rather urgent to attend to,” I said trying to walk past him but he wouldn’t.
“Look, I know how bothered you are about Freda missing but have you stopped to think maybe she doesn’t want to be here and she-”
“She what?” I asked him, I was angry and he could tell from the
change in my eye color. I was in no mood to be spoken to and he knew
- it.
“Nothing, I just do-”

“Get out of my way William, I don’t have time for whatever it is you need me to listen to,” I said and this time he moved away so I could pass, without looking back I headed for Elara.
“Who is it t- Your Highness what brings you here?” she asked and I
made my way towards her.
“I agree to fight the Kyraxx war, the sooner we get on with that the sooner I find Freda,” I said and there was a glint of hope in her eyes,
she needed me to do this.
“Y–you thought well about this?” She asked and I nodded, there was
no time to talk.
“Meet me in the castle in one hour, I need to have a meeting with the nobles and tell them of this impromptu journey to fight a war,” I said and Elara came to me, she stood in front of me and for the first time I noticed how fragile she was.
“Damien we cannot afford to lose this battle,” she said and I smirked.
“I don’t lose Elara, you should know that, and besides I have tons of pent–up anger and frustration, it’s a good way to let it all out. I don’t think you understand but I am not doing this for you, I am doing this for Freda and I will not make a mistake that will cost me my chances of finding her, get suited up and join me” With that I walked away.

I would do anything for Freda even if it’s going into war, it’s just a small price to pay, as I made my way back to the castle I thought about how little the time was to prepare men to follow me on the journey, I needed warriors, and I needed a lot of them.
“Your Highness” I turned around at the sound of Lady Daphne’s voice.
“Good thing you are here, gather the rest of the nobles. I have something to discuss with the lot briefly‘ I said and she nodded. Lady Daphne was the only noble that could relate to how terrible I was feeling about the Freda missing and she has done so well to check up on me on several occasions.
“Is anything the matter…” she leaned closer, worry etched on her face. “You can tell me first I would know how to deliver the message to the
rest.”
“No, I need everyone seated,” I ordered walking to the throne room.
“Is it about Freda? Have you perhaps found out where she is?”
“Lady Daphne, can you do as I say and not ask unnecessary
questions?”
“Yes, my king“. She said, turning back to leave. Taking my place on my throne seat, I waited impatiently for the nobles. Now that I had

rule. Elara can be easy to get rid of if we all put our kind to it.”
Utterly disgusted by Lord Balen’s words, I barked. “Elara had only been kind to us, you choose to pay her back with wickedness?”
He shrugged. “Just saying.”
“My King. Do not worry about that.” Lady Daphne cur in. “We would never do such a thing to Elara. We are ready to fight her battles with
her.”
“Thank you, Daphne,” I said. “This means that I would be going with Elara for a few days for this battle. I would need some men, plenty of men with me actually because of Kyraxx’s population. ”
“Why do you need to go? Who would rule while you’re away?”
“It’s just for a few days, Daphne.” Lord Balen interrupted. “It isn’t like the whole kingdom will be in chaos because he’s not here.”
“You do not need to worry as I won’t be gone for long. Once the revenge is done and Elara gives the I formation about Freda, we get her and I am back in the kingdom with everything being in place.”
