Chapter 123
Freda’s pov
I usually hated this class. It was exhausting, and old–fashioned,
though I learned a lot from it.
The lecturer stood in front of the class, he was an old man that I
found extremely creepy and wouldn’t be surprised if he was also a
tb
supernatural. It wasn’t just me who found him creepy because
whenever he walked into the hall I always heard complaints from
some of the girls who sat close to me.
“Today I have nothing to teach, I just want to entertain questions, I
remember asking the class to go home and read on their textbooks
and come back with questions,” he said.
I completely forgot about that. I was so busy making memories with
my mother that I remembered I had a task to do. I quickly tried to
scan through my book to see if there was something out of the
ordinary I could ask when I heard him call a girl from the back seat. I
turned around and saw her, she was slim and beautiful, she had dark
long hair that looked soft, I was very sure it was soft.
“What is your question?” the lecturer asked and she opened her
textbook. I tried to see if it was the same textbook I had opened.

Chapter 123
“Sir, I was reading like you had asked us to, and I read about a
mythical kingdom called Valthrun, it was the kingdom…”
“Vampires and they have been fighting against the werewolf kingdom
for a long time, yeah what is your question on that” he asked. I was
frozen in my seat, how did they know about Valthrun, and why was it
in a book?
I would never believe that it was on the map, on the human map.
They must know something about us but are too terrified to cross the
borders.
“Do you believe it’s real, do you think there is another world other
than ours?” She asked with a glint of mischief in her eyes that made
me feel like she knew something.
“Let me tell you a secret. I hear that most of these mythical textbooks
were written by creatures other than humans, and they walk amongst
us humans, not everyone sitting in this class is human,” he said looking around, my heart was beating fast, I knew they couldn’t tell
that I wasn’t fully human but I was scared nevertheless.
The class was quiet as they listened to him go on and on about
Valthrun, and half of the things he said were what Elara had told me
about Valthrun.

Chapter 123
The girl was still standing on her feet and it felt like it was just her and the Lecturer that was having a conversation, they talked about
Valthrun like they knew it and had been there.
I wanted to know what they knew, I obviously could not ask the
lecturer but I could ask the girl. I made up my mind to ask her after
the class, she knew something, maybe she was one of the vampires,
did Damien send her after me?
I wondered if it didn’t look like a coincidence that right after my
dream I was being reminded of Valthrun. I paid attention to the rest
of the class which was more like an argument after a few students
added their insights on things, and I was completely out of it and was
grateful when the class came to an end.
It was time to find out what the girl knew as I followed her out of the
class.
If she was sent by Damien, well, I would be happy still. I missed him
and the sound of him watching after me still sounded exciting to my
ears a little bit.
“Hey, you.” I stopped her. She frowned as she turned to look at me.
“New girl?” She brushed her face all over each

“Yeah, new, girl,” I responded. She didn’t know my name. Maybe it
wasn’t Damien who sent her after all or she was just pretending.
“Tell me everything you know about Valthrun,” I said like this was a
police investigation.
She chuckled a bit. “And that’s why there’s a textbook. Please read.”
She tried walking out of my face but I dragged her again.
“You sound like you’ve been there. Tell me, at you one of those
people?”
“I am fascinated that you think I would want to be a monster.” she
leaned closer to me, her eyes glaring. “Do I scare you?”
I moved back, pretending as if she scared me. “Yes you scare me, I
responded.
“Well, let’s keep it that way. I am a werewolf, you can see me as that
from now on.”
I was triggered to laugh but I kept my cool. If she was a werewolf, I
guess she would have recognized I was a hybrid and even insulted me
with it like they always do.
Without saying any more words, I walked away from her She wasn’t

sent by Damien. I didn’t think so, she didn’t look anything like a
vampire, didn’t smell like one.
I was so stupid, why would I think Damien was still searching for me
at this point? He must have found out by now that I had hurt him
deliberately, choosing to escape was my idea and he must have been
very mad at me.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he vowed never to look for me. I deserved it,
I was indecisive, I didn’t know what I wanted, and he wasn’t my top
priority.
Any man would be hurt by that. As much as I missed him, I still
hadn’t decided if going back was the safest or best option. Now I was
in school, now I saw what school looked and felt like. It made me feel
fulfilled, and seeing my mother also made me whole, but somehow,
the bond and love of a mate was different.
I wanted to apologize if I ever saw Damien again. I wanted to tell him
I was sorry, for not rubbing minds with him and telling him my plans,
for deciding too quickly that he didn’t give me enough happiness.
