Chapter 90
Christie’s POV
Like a needle piercing my skin several times, the hurt pricked me
when Freda asked me to leave the room. I wanted to join them in
their conversations, but it seemed I shouldn’t be involved.
I had nothing to do. I’d been assigned to the queen all day, and now
she was asking me to leave. Was it because her best friend was here?
Would this happen very often? Would my closeness with the queen be
discontinued? I didn’t wish that to happen.
Her closeness with Kara seemed to surpass mine. I understood they’d
been best friends for a long time. I just felt left out… empty. What if
Kara stayed for a long time? Would the queen not need my services
any longer?
That was a nightmare. I’d already been cast aside by the rest of the
maids because of my closeness with the queen. If the queen left me
now, they would mock me every day.
I headed to the basement toward my room. As I tried walking into my
room, the doorknob caught my bracelet, and the beads scattered to
the ground.

My heart skipped as I saw the beads roll down the hallway. That was
Elijah’s gift to me, and it meant so much. I began to pick them up
gently but panicked. If I didn’t find them all to make a new one, I
would hurt so badly.
It was what I held onto, to always keep Elijah in my mind–even-
though he never left. The last date–if that was one–was still
plastered in my memory. His closeness, how he smelled. He’d said
we’d do this again, but he never came, which was unusual as he
always visited the castle frequently.
Was it my food? Did he just lie about it tasting nice?
As I followed one of the beads that had rolled down the passage, I
stopped when I heard voices at the cellar.
It was a familiar voice, so I leaned by the wall to see who it was. The
cellar in the basement was hardly visited, so I was curious to know
why anyone would be down there.
“This place is indeed far enough for a private conversation.” A female
voice said.
As I looked closer, it looked like… was that Lady Amelia, Freda’s
stepmother?

“You bragged about your husband’s hearing skills. I doubt he’d hear
your sounds down here.” The masculine voice said.
“Kieran.” A giggle escaped Lady Amelia’s lips, and I gasped softly.
Uncle Kieran was here with Alpha Winston’s wife.
“You play too much. I’m just here to have a conversation with you.”
“Are you not scared of where this might lead?” Kieran grazed his hand
on her shoulder.
“It’s been a week. I understand all you’ve said, but I doubt we can
work.” She removed his hand from hers.
Was Uncle Kieran trying to seduce her? I knew him to be a flirt, but Freda’s family too? To think he’d been trying to talk to Amelia for a
week?
“I guess my influence isn’t enough to convince you.” He said, moving
away from her.
She pulled him back, and they were close enough to feel each other’s
breath. “You even avoid me in front of the others.”
“I never said that. You know Winston dislikes this family. It would be

wrong of me to just be friendly with you.” Her hand trailed his shirt,
down to his navel.
Kieran moved to her neck, kissing it up and down. “Are you certain you don’t want me, Amelia? His tongue scraped her clavicle. “Your husband has become rather thin since he was locked up here. Thanks to me, he was released on time.” His lips reached her chest, and
Amelia moaned. “Does he still satisfy you?”
Lady Amelia’s eyes were closed now, her hand reaching for Uncle Kieran’s back to pull him closer. “He’s been so focused on his daughter’s coronation that he barely has time for me.” Now she’d started pulling his shirt off. “You, by the way, are so handsome, hot,
attractive…”
A moan escaped her lips as Kieran squeezed her breast in his hands.
“With over a hundred years of experience that your husband lacks, I bet you’ll be calling this vampire for services. Come here, Amelia.”
He locked his lips with hers as they kissed aggressively, Lady Amelia’s
sounds filling the cellar.
My eyes widened at what was happening. These two were involved. It
was forbidden. This shouldn’t be happening. There was no way I could
stop them–I would get in trouble for even knowing this. What should

I do?
I peeked further. Kieran had raised Amelia’s dress to her thighs, his
hand rubbing between them as her sounds increased.
“You sound deprived.” Kieran said.
He lifted her onto his waist and set her on a table, pulling the buttons
of her dress to reveal her breasts.
“Holy…” Kieran exclaimed, a smirk on his lips.
Before Lady Amelia could speak, his mouth took in her nipples, and
her sounds said the rest.
I looked away. I should leave before they could sense I was here. This
felt wrong–all of it. Should I reveal this to Freda? Would she get mad
and tell her father about it? Would this cause chaos in the castle and
put me in trouble? How should I handle this information?
“Oh, Amelia!” I heard a loud groan from Uncle Kieran.
As I peeked to look again, Lady Amelia’s mouth had taken him in,
working him like she was desperate. She’d gone to her knees, and in
return, Kieran squeezed her breasts.

“Take me, Kieran.” She uttered.
Pushing her to hold the table, Kieran bent Amelia over, sliding into
her as she let out a cry of pain and pleasure.
