Chapter 93
Freda’s POV
“I will be damned if I didn’t tell you this.” Christie yanked me to the
bed as I tried to dress for the general breakfast we were having.
“Can we discuss this later? I don’t want to be late.” I said, fixing my
hair.
“I cannot keep this anymore, my queen.” She started pacing my room.
“It’s too much for me to handle, or think about, or know. I…”
“Calm down, Christie, goodness!” I snapped her out of her
restlessness. “What’s wrong with you?”
“Please, pledge you won’t have a negative reaction to this news.”
I slapped my palm on my forehead. What news could she give me that
would make me react negatively to her? Worse, had she messed up
something for Agatha and needed me to defend her?
“I won’t.” I responded, “Now hurry up, before Damien scolds us both.”
She swallowed hard, her chest heaving. “Uncle Kieran… Lady Amelia.”

Christie’s countenance had changed to a mix of sadness, confusion,
and fear. “I saw them yesterday. They were… together.”
I wasn’t surprised. A lot of my family members had split off with
others to gossip about the coronation, so if my stepmother was also
friends with Uncle Kieran, it wasn’t a problem. They could gossip all
they wanted.
“Christie, I don’t care.” I stood up from the bed, going toward the
door.
“No, my queen. They were… intimate. Having sex.”
She blurted, and I froze.
“What?”
“I saw it with my own eyes. Lady Amelia was naked, and Uncle Kieran
touched her all over. She did the same, including… I left when he
entered her.”
“WHAT?” My voice echoed in the room.
“Please, don’t let them know I saw them. I’d get in trouble.” Christie
cried.

My vision almost blurred, a sinking feeling in my chest. My father. I
thought of my father. How could she cheat on him?
I’d seen Lily with Theo, and that was just innocent. But Amelia and
Kieran were a literal abomination. Not only had she cheated on my
father, but with someone from the family I was getting crowned into?
“Oh, my goodness!” My face was covered in sweat. “How do I tell
Father?” I panicked.
How long had Amelia been doing this? Worse, would Father believe
me? She’d disrespected my father, and I was furious about this.
“Queen Freda, please.” Christie pulled me back as I opened the door
to my room.
“I just want to have breakfast, Christie. It’s nothing.” I exhaled, trying
to assure her I would protect her position. No one would take it
lightly knowing she’d been sneaking around watching people. “As
long as what you speak of is the truth.”
“It is, my lady. It is.”
My walking speed increased as I walked down the stairs into the main
dining room where Damien had asked everyone to eat breakfast. I was
disorganized after hearing such news. How long had this been

happening between them? If Christie hadn’t seen them, they would
have continued this under our roof without suspicion.
“Freda.” Damien’s voice cut through my thoughts as he extended his
hand, offering me a seat.
With a quick smile, I took it, sitting beside him.
My eyes darted toward the offenders immediately. To my surprise,
Uncle Kieran and Amelia were sitting close to each other. In perfect
view, Amelia was sitting in the middle of her husband and her lover.
“Is anything the matter?” Damien’s hand covered mine on my lap.
“You look startled.” His eyes traced my gaze, but I looked away before
he could catch it.
“I’m fine, Damien.” I rubbed his hand also.
He gave me a knowing look before addressing the rest of the table, his
deep voice commanding silence.
“Coronation is in two days. I can’t wait for you all to leave so I can be
alone with my queen.” His voice resounded in the dining room,
everyone shifting their focus to him.
My gaze met my father’s, and I looked away for two reasons. I didn’t

want Damien to catch our exchange, as he’d been noticing my father
and I had been close lately. And the other reason–I didn’t want him
to read my expression, knowing I had something to tell Father about
his wife.
“I hope my nobles have treated you very well, and the werewolves and
vampires can have a good long–distance relationship.” Damien said
again.
“Will your father be present at the ceremony?” My father asked.
I knew he was trying to get on Damien’s nerves again. I should warn
him to keep quiet if he doesn’t want to be locked up again.
“I attend my daughter’s coronation, so your father should attend
yours too.”
“That will be left for me to decide, Alpha Winston. And if I wish, I could keep you out of the coronation too. So this becomes mutual.”
Damien growled, sending warnings to my father.
“Can we eat in peace, please?” Amelia cut in.
For some reason, I noticed both of Uncle Kieran’s hands were not on
the table, and Amelia was adjusting herself like she was
uncomfortable.

“Uncle Kieran!” I called out his name. It was an involuntary action. I
didn’t mean to do that.
Everyone’s gaze shifted toward me.
“Why are your hands not on the table, Uncle? You’re not eating
either.”
Swiftly, he removed his hand, licking his fingers before taking a
chicken from his plate. “I’m sorry, my dear Freda. I feel special that
you’ve been watching me.”
Amelia’s eyes fixed on me, and I shot her a daring glare. Damien held
my hand once more, his brows arched with confusion.
“Do you suggest we have a private moment?” He whispered. “I think
the coronation tension is getting to you.”
My heartbeat raced as Amelia and Kieran gave each other a flirtatious
look, like they’d just been satisfied. I watched my father eat with
innocence, unaware of what was happening right beside him.
