I instantly yanked my hand away, violently shaking my wrist.

So disgusting, utterly disgusting!

He touched* me!

“Trevor, your shamelessness truly knows no bounds. What makes you think I’d ever want you back? In my eyes, you’re just trash. You never loved me. You only loved my power and status. You used them to get so many things you never deserved, and now that they’re gone, you regret it? You pathetic, despicable worm!”

If this were before, Trevor might have been able to pretend he didn’t care.

But now, he crawled to my feet like a dog, begging:

“Daisy! It was that *bitch* who tricked me! It was all her! I genuinely love you, I know you can’t bear to let me go, and you’re only with Julian to make me jealous! Come back to me, please?!”

SMACK!

The crisp sound of a slap echoed.

But this time, it wasn’t me. It was Julian.

“After all these years, you’re still just as disgusting. If I’d known you’d never change, I

would’ve snatched Daisy away from you much earlier, even if it meant she’d hate me forever! Why shouldn’t the better man take what’s rightfully his?”

Why *couldn’t* the later one win out?

Because the ‘former’ (Julian) fought and snatched me for himself.

Trevor wanted to explode, but he looked at Julian, who now exuded an undeniable aura of power.

He bit back his anger for a long moment before finally sputtering:

“You… you dared to hit me!”

Julian smirked:

“Want another one? Sorry, but I don’t have a fetish for hitting trash.”

Trevor’s face cycled through shades of red and white, but in the end, he didn’t dare to

retort.

He tucked his tail between his legs and slunk away.

Even as he left, he kept glancing back, taking three steps then turning, foolishly hoping

I’d call out to him.

Idiot.

“Disgusting.”

Julian muttered under his breath, like a child.

I couldn’t help but smile:

“If you hate him that much, I’ll put up a sign around here: ‘No Trevors or dogs allowed.”

Julian didn’t find the suggestion childish at all. He thought for a moment, then replied

seriously:

“No, that won’t work. Dogs are still cute. Dogs can stay.”

My smile widened.
