Isabella laughed coldly and ripped off her mask, revealing a twisted, terrifying face.

Only seeing her face made me truly believe that Nathan had no idea about any of this.
Because she looked absolutely horrifying right now.

Isabella stepped closer to me. “You know what? Nathan wants to divorce me because of you! And he said he won’t give me a penny!”
I stared at this woman, completely shocked.
“So you kidnapped him? And cut off his finger? Isabella, how can you be so twisted?”
‘I didn’t have to go this far originally, but you wouldn’t believe he was really kidnapped-you thought he was faking it. So I had no choice but to cut off a piece of him to show you. And look, it worked perfectly-here you are!”

Marcus rushed back just in time, knocking Isabella to the ground.
The lighter fell, sparking the gasoline into a wall of flames.
The fire trapped Nathan and me inside, while Marcus and Isabella were cut off on the outside.

Searing heat waves crashed over us. Ignoring everything else, I rushed to Nathan and started untying his ropes.
“Nathan! Nathan, wake up!”
Finally getting him free, he saw me and smiled.
“Jade… it’s really you. You came to see me, didn’t you? cough cough-”
The thick smoke made him cough violently. Looking at the wall of fire around us, he frowned: “What’s happening? How did I get here? My hand… it hurts so much!”
“Don’t talk!” I gritted my teeth and tried to carry him toward the exit, but the fire was spreading, igniting all the wooden boards in the abandoned factory.
Crackling sounds filled my ears. The flames were so intense I could barely keep my eyes open.
“Jade!”
Marcus shouted from outside the fire circle. Isabella’s voice was even louder.
“None of you are getting out! Hahaha! Burn to death! All of you!”
She broke free from Marcus and ran out of the factory, driving away with the money.
The police still hadn’t arrived. Marcus looked at our figures trapped in the flames, threw his jacket over his shoulders, and charged in
without hesitation.
Jade! Are you okay?”
‘cough cough…” I was holding Nathan, unable to get out.
Seeing Marcus rush in, I panicked.
‘Marcus, are you crazy? Why did you come in here?”
‘Don’t be afraid. I’m here to save you.”
He looked at me with emotions I couldn’t understand.
‘Give me Nathan-I’ll carry him out!”
Nathan had lost too much blood. His face was deathly pale, barely breathing, but he still tried to refuse Marcus’s help.
I don’t need you to carry me. Get out!”
Nathan Pierce! Do you want to die? If you want to die, I’ll leave you here right now to die by yourself!”
I was shaking with rage. Everyone was trying to save him, and he was still worried about his stupid pride.
“Marcus, don’t bother with him. If he wants to die, let him die!”
Seeing my anger, Nathan finally said weakly: “Don’t be angry, Jade. I don’t want to die. I want to be with you…”
“Stop talking! Jade, get out now!”
Marcus handed me his jacket. “Put this on and be careful!”

When I burst out of the fire, Marcus wasn’t behind me.
“Marcus! Marcus!”

The next second, the man emerged from the flames carrying Nathan on his back.
Seeing them both safe, I started crying.
“Thank God you’re okay. Let’s get out of here!”
I’d just taken Nathan from him when Marcus suddenly threw himself at us, pushing us away with all his strength.
“Look out!”
The fire had turned half the sky red. A burning beam crashed down from above, striking Marcus hard across the back.
