Chapter 13
Chapter 13
Victoria stood in the cold wind wearing nothing but a thin white blouse, her face pale: “I waited for you at home for hours and you never came. I had to ask your assistant to find out you were leaving the country.”
“You’re going to find Claire?” Victoria frowned. “She quit because she wanted to-after working so many years, it’s normal to want a break. Why do you have to track her down?”
Ethan’s voice turned cold: “No reason. She needs to stay by my side.”
Victoria was stunned.
This was the first time Ethan had ever spoken to her in this tone.
‘But…”
You’re not feeling well, don’t stand out here in the wind,” Ethan cut her off, turning to his driver. “Take Ms. Hayes home.”
‘I’m not going home!” Victoria suddenly grabbed his arm. “If you’re determined to go, then I’m coming with you!”
Ethan’s brow furrowed and he was about to refuse, but Victoria had already climbed into the car.
rime was running short-he was afraid if he waited any longer, Claire would move somewhere else again. He reluctantly got in after
her.
Let’s go,” he commanded the driver curtly.
On the private jet, Victoria stared at the cabin filled with luxury gift boxes, speechless with shock: “All of this… is for Claire?”
Mm.” Ethan didn’t look up from studying Claire’s travel itinerary. “I upset her. I need gifts to win her back.”
Victoria clenched her fists, her nails digging deep into her palms.
After takeoff, she clutched her stomach and said softly: “Ethan, my stomach still really hurts…”
than kept his eyes glued to his tablet: “Deal with it.”
Could we maybe have the plane-”
No.” He cut her off directly. “Not until I find her.”
Victoria’s face went white as she finally fell silent.
hroughout the flight, Ethan never stopped tracking Claire’s movements, terrified she’d disappear again.
After twelve hours of flying, the plane finally landed in Geneva.
But when Ethan and his entourage rushed to Claire’s hotel, the front desk delivered news that made him furious:
Ms. Morrison? She checked out yesterday.”
Ethan slammed his fist on the marble counter, making the desk clerk jump back.
He immediately called his assistant: “Find her! She’s gone again-find out where she is now!”

Ten minutes later, his assistant reported nervously: “Mr. Blackwood… Claire flew to Iceland this morning…”
Ethan turned and headed straight back outside, boarding the private jet again as he commanded: “We’re going to Iceland. Now!”
Victoria jogged to keep up: “Ethan, we just got off the plane, maybe we should rest first…”
“If you’re tired, go home yourself.” Ethan didn’t even look back. “I have to find her.”
Victoria bit her lip, her eyes filling with tears, but she could only drag her exhausted body after Ethan once more.
She didn’t understand how the man who’d been devoted to her just yesterday could transform into someone completely different the moment he heard Claire had left.
Another dozen hours of grueling flight time.
When the plane landed in Iceland, Victoria was pale and weak-kneed.
But Ethan didn’t spare her a glance, heading straight to Claire’s booked hotel as soon as they landed.
Ms. Morrison? She checked out this morning,” the front desk clerk answered politely. “I believe she said something about going to Norway to see the Northern Lights.”
Ethan’s expression turned thunderously dark.
Without a word, he spun around and headed back outside: “Flying to Norway!”
