The setting sun’s rays streamed through the glass dome of the exhibition hall, illuminating Emily as she intently studied the exhibits. His wolf urged him, “What are you waiting for! She’s your true mate! You’ve waited thirteen years!”
William suddenly spoke.”Speaking of which, we can sign the contract.”
Emily paused, then quickly opened her bag.
The contract in the folder was pristine.
“Mr. Brown truly keeps his word.”
William took the contract and pen.”Ms. Davis always keeps the contract with her. That dedication is rare.

Emily was amused by his analogy. “It’s just a habit to be fully prepared. You’re being too kind.”
“Then I’m curious.”
William suddenly put down his pen, his gaze locking with hers.”Someone like Ms. Davis, why did you suddenly leave Hidemoon Pack and the Royal Pack?”
His words made the air freeze.
Emily stared at the contract clauses.
Simon’s indifferent voice saying “divorce” flashed through her mind.
She lowered her eyes.”Hidemoon Pack and the Royal Pack weren’t making me happy, so I decided to try something new.”
“Is that avoidance?”
William’s voice held a teasing tone, but it softened when he saw her gloomy expression.
“Actually, people should be like the steel structures in the exhibition. They need to be pieced together to continue.
Getting away from unhappy people and things, moving forward, that’s the way to live.”
Emily looked up sharply.
She thought his words made sense.
As she remembered more, the unhappiness increased.
Countless sleepless nights because of Simon, only she was trapped in place.
No one had told her then that turning around and leaving was also an option.
“You’re right.”
She heard herself and her wolf say in unison, her throat tightening.
Watching William sign his name, Emily finally relaxed.
That night, Zoe’s scream almost shattered her phone’s speaker.”Emily, you’re amazing! Even the most difficult alpha, William Brown, is captivated by your charm!”
Emily leaned against her headboard, gazing at the night view outside the floor-to-ceiling window.
‘He’s not that strange. I actually find him quite interesting.”
After hanging up, the room fell silent.
Emily tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
Every word William had said echoed in her mind.
She got up and opened the curtains; the city lights were as brilliant as a galaxy.
Perhaps, as William said, life shouldn’t be trapped in the past.
