As soon as Simon boarded the plane, he felt a wave of drowsiness.
But his sleep was restless, punctuated by mumbled words.
I know I was wrong, come back, okay? I’ll claim you publicly, you’re my mate.”
“Emily, where are you?”
His voice was low, indistinct.
The assistant beside him, fearing he would be angered, listened quietly, trying to minimize his
presence.

About thirty minutes later, he suddenly woke up, his head throbbing, as if he had had a very long dream.
But he couldn’t distinguish between dream and reality.
In the dream, he was in a meeting when Emily called, asking what time he would be home tonight, saying she had made his favorite steak.
He glanced at his phone, confirming it was Emily.
He hurried home.
He arrived home at noon. Emily was busy in the kitchen.
Simon reached out to hug her.
His arms found nothing.
Turning back, she was gone.
He woke up from the dream, his eyes already wet.
Looking at his surroundings, he realized he was on a plane.
A deep wave of regret washed over him. If he could do it all over again, he would never let things get to this point.
He would hold her hand tightly, never letting go..
But there was no time machine to give him a second chance.
After getting off the plane, he immediately went to Emily’s address.
He caught sight of a tall, strong man leaning against a car, seemingly waiting for someone.
Simon glanced at him then quickly looked away, but the man, without hesitation, turned to observe Simon.
Simon frowned, but then saw a familiar figure emerge from the villa gate.
Emily was wearing a simple white dress, with light makeup that made her look radiant.
He immediately rushed forward.
“Emily!”
Emily stopped. Simon seemed to have lost a significant amount of weight, with heavy dark circles under his eyes.
He looked haggard.
But her expression remained calm.”What do you want?”
“I was wrong,” Simon grabbed her wrist, his voice trembling.”I was blind before, deceived by Clara! She framed you, fabricated evidence, I’ve already punished her.”
“So? You came to find me?”
“I’ve figured it out. I won’t force someone who doesn’t love me, and I hope you won’t disturb my life again.”
“I love you!”
Simon’s eyes reddened.”Have you forgotten? I publicly claimed you as my mate, and you agreed. You have feelings for me.
I only understand now that I’ve always had feelings for you.”
“Who you have feelings for is none of my business, and I don’t want to know.”

Emily turned towards William, not even glancing at Simon once.
Simon tried to chase after her, but a hand stopped him.
Mera
William had silently arrived, completely blocking Emily.
“Sir, Emily has made it very clear that she doesn’t want you to come looking for her again.”
William’s tone was calm, but his eyes were cold as frost.”A forced relationship is never sweet. I’m sure you understand that better than I do.” Simon’s nails dug into his palm, looking at the challenging smile on William’s lips, anger surged in his chest.
“Who are you? What right do you have to interfere in our business?”
His voice was low, his eyes filled with anger.
William calmly adjusted his cuffs, his gaze sweeping over Emily’s profile in the distance.
“Emily is now the alpha of Moonland Pack. I am Emily’s officially claimed true mate. We’re having our bonding ceremony next month. Do you think I have the right to interfere?”
“So, not only do I have the right, but I also have the obligation to protect her from being disturbed. If I see you again, I’ll call the police for harassing the alpha of Moonland Pack. The Pack’s laws are very strict on this.”
This sentence was like a heavy hammer, hitting Simon hard.
As William’s words echoed, the pain that had plagued Simon for weeks due to the broken mate bond suddenly ceased.
This meant that what William said was true-Emily had truly found her next mate.
He looked at the car in disbelief, Emily sitting in the passenger seat, her face distant.
“Emily!”
“This isn’t true, right?”
His voice unconsciously rose, his face showing an unprecedented panic.
Emily lowered her eyelashes.”Of course it’s true. What? Do you want to come to my bonding ceremony? Simon, I’ll say it one last time, don’t come looking for me again.”
Her voice was terrifyingly calm, yet every word was like a knife, severing Simon’s last hope.
Simon felt his vision blur, his legs weakening.
His wolf watched Emily and William, who were close but not touching, their auras intertwining.
His wolf’s energy was fading, “She’s telling the truth, look at the atmosphere between them. They are true mates, he’s not lying.”
He remembered everything Emily had silently done for him, now a sharp irony.
In his self-righteous coldness, Emily had probably let go a long time ago.
William opened the car door, sat in the driver’s seat, and turned to look at Simon.
He curled his lips into a meaningful smile.
His eyes were full of the victor’s triumph.
“She didn’t publicly reject us, we have a chance!”
The roar of the sports car tore through the quiet street, like a sharp blade severing Simon’s last illusion.
He stood there, watching the car drive further and further away.
Finally disappearing around the corner,
The wind blew the fallen leaves on the roadside, but it couldn’t blow away the bone-chilling coldness in his heart.
Simon’s heart no longer ached, but he would rather have continued feeling the pain forever.
Simon looked at the empty street and suddenly remembered the first time he saw Emily, she had also walked past him quietly.
He hadn’t realized then that the wheels of fate had already begun to turn.
It was all his own doing.
