His Mistress 10

His Mistress 10

Chapter 10

I never expected the usually composed Ryan to suddenly fight free from the guards’ grip.

In front of everyone, he fell to his knees at my feet, trembling as he grabbed the hem of my wedding dress.

“Therese, I was wrong. I really was!”

“I know you hate me and don’t expect you to forgive me right away.”

“I’m only asking for one chance-let me make up for what I’ve done. Please?”

He was crying uncontrollably.

But I just furrowed my brows, annoyed, and kicked him away.

“Ryan, when will you ever stop?”

“I don’t need your apologies. People like you disgust me even just by showing up!”

He collapsed on the floor, despair flooding his eyes.

As I turned to leave, he shamelessly crawled toward me, using both hands and feet.

“Therese, how can you just stop loving me like that?”

“Have you forgotten, when you pulled me out of that pit, you promised that you would never abandon me.”

“Besides, you can’t even have children-who else but me would truly care about you?”

Before he could finish, Calvin kicked him hard, sending him flying.

His face dark with rage, Calvin grabbed Ryan by the collar and slammed a fist into his face.

“If you dare say another word of nonsense, I swear you won’t walk away alive.”

Everyone knew Calvin was a living nightmare-cross him, and there would be no good ending.

thought Ryan would be intimidated.

But instead, he wiped the blood from his mouth, fearless.

Before I could react, they were already grappling fiercely.

Daisy screamed instinctively.

She stumbled forward, desperately trying to pull Ryan back.

“Mr. Parker, please stop! Therese doesn’t love you anymore. No matter how much you cling to her, she won’t come back!”

“She’s with Mr. Calvin now-there’s no way she’ll return to you!”

“For a woman like her, who can’t even have children, what’s there to hold on to?”

“But it’s okay. You still have me. No matter how many children you want, I’m willing to give them to you!”

Her eyes gleamed with cruel pride as she glanced at me.

I couldn’t help but sneer.

How foolish to think the only way to keep a man was by having his children.

Sure enough, Ryan wasn’t moved by her words at all.

He spun around and punched Daisy hard in the stomach, his eyes colder and more merciless than she expected.

“Who the hell needs you to have my children?”

“If you hadn’t begged me to keep those damn kids, I wouldn’t have lost my wife!”

“If you love giving birth so much, I’ll give you plenty more!”

Ignoring Daisy’s screams, he coldly ordered his assistant to drag her away.

Before leaving, he even instructed them to send her to the slums-an area rife with homeless people, where her fate would likely be cruel.

After Daisy was dragged away with her mouth and nose covered, Ryan finally looked at me

again.

With a hoarse voice, he begged, “Therese, I’ll deal with her once and for all. Please, can you give me one more chance?”

Calvin was furious and ready to rush at him again, but I reached out and held him back.

I gently touched the bruises on his face, my eyes full of tenderness.

When I looked up, all that remained was coldness.

“Ryan, you disgust me now. How could I ever give you another chance?”

“You’re right-I might never have children. So what?”

“Calvin and I don’t care. Children are the fruit of love, not the purpose of life.”

“Get out. Never show your face in front of me again. That’s the only way you can make up for what you’ve done.”

No matter how loudly Ryan screamed, I ignored him completely.

Instead, I smiled and linked arms with Calvin, determinedly walking toward my own happiness.

After that day, I never saw Ryan again.

I only heard that he returned to the country alone, raising three children in loneliness.

After we married, Calvin and I didn’t rush to have children.

Unexpectedly, a baby came to us when we least expected.

Calvin was overjoyed to the point of madness and cared for me throughout the entire

pregnancy.

When our daughter was born, he knelt outside the delivery room, praying for us with utmost devotion.

One day after we were discharged, I happened to see news on the domestic channels. Ryan, suffering from severe depression, had attempted suicide multiple times. His family had no choice but to admit him to a psychiatric hospital.

I closed the news coldly.

Looking up, I met Calvin’s eyes-full of warmth and love.

Under the sunlight, he cradled our daughter, playing with her endlessly.

Her joyful laughter echoed in my ears.

At that moment, happiness healed all my wounds.

Suffering was not to be feared-people must always turn toward the light.

And my life was finally beginning to shine brilliantly.
