Chapter 46

The compound was tucked away in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by woods and a chain–link fence topped with barbed wire.
Logan’s bike growled as we pulled up, and the sound echoed through the trees. We’d doubled back a few times and taken so many winding backroads to get here, I had no clue how far we were from the city… or in which direction

I’d never heard of this place, but it felt like stepping into a different world. The air smelled like pine and damp earth, and the hum of cicadas filled the silence.
The compound itself was a sprawling building made of old wood and corrugated steel. It looked like it’d been cobbled together over decades, with additions slapped on as needed.
As we walked toward the place, Viktor stepped out of his SUV. His suit was immaculate, and he looked out of place, like a diamond in a junkyard. He gave us a single nod before turning and heading for the door.
Logan and I followed him. The door was heavy and reinforced, with a small window covered in wire mesh. Viktor pulled it open and the hinges groaned in protest.

Inside, it was dimly lit. The walls were covered in graffiti the club logo, names, slogans. It smelled like stale beer, sweat, and motor oil. Not entirely unlike the clubhouse.
A long wooden table dominated the main room, surrounded by mismatched chairs. The place was empty except for Talon, Jake, and a handful of other club members. They were clustered around the table, and their faces were grim, and they were quietly chatting.
Viktor headed for the table. He didn’t say a word, just slid into one of the empty chairs.
Logan’s grip tightened on my hand, pulling me gently away from the others. “Come on,” he murmured.
I let him lead me toward a narrow hallway that branched off the main room. The air was cooler back here, and the walls were lined with faded photos of the club through the years.
Logan didn’t stop until we were out of earshot, tucked into a shadowed alcove. He turned to face me, searching mine.

“You good?” he asked.
I nodded, but my stomach was in knots.
He smirked, reaching up to brush a strand of hair behind my ear. “You’re rockin‘ this whole ‘badass infiltrator‘ thing, Ace. Don’t let Viktor rattle you.”
“Easy for you to say,” I muttered, leaning into his touch. “You’re not the one Russian mob boss.”

He chuckled, his thumb tracing my jaw. “You’ll be fine. I’ll be right there next to you.”
He backed me up to the wall, and his lips found my neck, sending a shiver down my spine. His hands wandered lower, slipping under the edge of my shirt. His calloused fingers traced the curve of my hip.
“Logan,” I murmured, struggling to think straight. “Shouldn’t we head back to the table?”

He chuckled, his breath warm against my neck. “Nah, we got a few minutes. Still waiting on a bunch of knuckleheads to show up.”
Before I could say anything else, his mouth was on mine, kissing me deep and hungry. I melted into him, my fingers twisting through his hair as he pressed me harder against the wall.
His fingers fumbled with the button of my jeans, and I gasped into his mouth as he slid his hand inside.
“Logan,” I moaned… a little too loud. “What if someone comes down here?”
He nipped at my bottom lip, his voice coming out rough. “Let ‘em watch.”
I laughed breathlessly, but the sound turned into a groan as he slipped two fingers inside me. wall, my eyes rolling back as he worked me over.
His lips trailed down my neck, his teeth grazing my skin as he murmured against it. “Let it all go, Ace…

I couldn’t respond. My words were lost in a moan as his fingers pulled out of me and found my clit. My hips rocked against his hand, desperate for more friction… more of him.
I was teetering on the edge now. He was still working me over, nibbling on my neck, my throat. Then with his free hand, he grabbed one of mine and brought down to his jeans where I could feel his cock throbbing against the zipper.
When I grabbed it, he growled directly into my ear. It was so hot, so feral, that it sent me spiraling over the edge.
I cried out as quietly as I could, grinding hard against his fingers. But then, the sound of boots scuffling against the floor snapped me back to reality.
My eyes flew open to see River appear around the corner.
His eyes flicked between us, and he smirked, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. “Am I interrupting something?”
Logan pulled his hand out of my jeans and stepped back, wiping his fingers on his leg. My face burned, and I quickly buttoned up.
“Nope,” Logan said, casual. “We were just-”
“Discussing strategy,” I interrupted, smoothing my shirt down and glaring at Logan.
Logan glanced at me, his lips quirking into a grin. “Right. Strategy.”
River snorted. “Uh huh. The old hand–down–the–pants strategy. One of my favorites.”
I glared at Logan, feeling myself blush even harder.
“Everyone’s here,” River continued. “Viktor’s gettin‘ antsy.”
I stepped away from the wall. My legs felt like jelly, but I forced myself to follow River toward the main room like nothing happened.
I glanced over my shoulder to see Logan still in the same place. “I’ll be there in a minute,” he said, gesturing toward his very noticeable hard–on.
I hurried into the main room, trying to ignore the lingering heat in my cheeks. Viktor’s sharp eyes were on ine, and I felt like he knew exactly what Logan and I had been up to.
The table was packed now, full of faces I recognized, but I didn’t know most of their names.
I slid into one of the two remaining empty chairs, and Logan appeared in the one next to me, looking far too smug for his

own good. His hand found mine under the table, squeezing it lightly. I shot him a glare, but he just grinned.
Like he hadn’t just been caught with his hand down my pants.
Jake cleared his throat at the head of the table. “Alright, everyone’s here. Hailey, lay it on us.”
I took a deep breath, glancing around. Everyone’s eyes were on me, and I felt my stomach twist. I wasn’t used to being the center of attention like this, especially not in a room full of outlaws.
But somehow, I wasn’t too nervous. I realized that was probably Logan’s plan all along.
A little orgasm to calm the nerves.
I smirked at him, then squared my shoulders, forcing myself to focus. I could do this.
The words started pouring out of me as I recounted my plan. Viktor listened intently, and when I was finished, he leaned back in his chair with his fingers steepled in front of him.
“So,” I added, making direct eye contact with him, “I could use your help to pinpoint a time and place where I could casually run into him.”
The room was silent for a few seconds, my words hanging in the air.
Then Viktor leaned forward again. “This… is an excellent plan, *kukolka.* In fact, I have already looked into Becker’s… comings and goings. He has a standing appointment at a barber shop. Noon, on the fifth of every month.”
“Tomorrow,” I murmured.
“Yes,” Viktor replied. He glanced at Jake. “Jacob. Do you have sound equipment, or shall I provide?”
Jake looked across the table at an older club member with long gray hair and wire–rimmed glasses. He was scrawny compared to everyone else, and I wondered what his story was. “Ledger. You got somethin‘ we can use, right?”
Ledger nodded, pushing his glasses up his nose. “Yeah, boss. Got a few options. We can get her wired up with something discreet.”
I swallowed hard, feeling the weight of everyone’s eyes on me. “Okay,” I said, steadier than I felt. “So… tomorrow morning. I’ll wander past the barber shop. Accidentally run into him, confront him about Monty, and hopefully… he’ll say something incriminating.
Viktor studied me. “You understand the risks. Yes?”
I nodded. “I do. But it’s the best plan we’ve got.”
Logan’s hand gripped my thigh under the table. I could feel the tension radiating off him, but he didn’t say anything. He knew he couldn’t stop me.
“Alright,” Jake said, breaking the silence. “Any questions?” He glanced around the table. When nobody spoke up, he pulled a gavel out of an inside pocket on his cut, banging it once on the table.
“Ledger,” he added as he stood up. “Get Hailey set up with equipment. Everyone else, keep your heads down. No unnecessary risks. We’re still skatin‘ on thin ice.”
The room murmured in agreement, and people started to disperse. Ledger motioned for me to follow him, and I did. Logan trailed close behind me.
He led us into a small room filled with shelves full of electronics. He pulled a small box off of a shelf. “Let’s get you set up,” he murmured, blowing the dust off the top of the box before opening it.

Inside was a tiny wireless microphone and transmitter. It looked impossibly small, like something out of a spy movie.

“This’ll go in your car,” he explained, handing it to me. “The transmitter clips to your belt or waistband. It’ll record whatever it captures, but it’ll also send it to me. Make sure it stays hidden.”
I nodded, taking the device. It felt cold and heavy, reminding me of the pistol I’d carried into Matt’s house just a few crys

“We’ll be listening from a van nearby. If anything goes wrong, we’ll be there.”
“Okay,” I murmured, my throat dry. “Thanks.”
Ledger gave me a reassuring smile. “You’ve got this, kid. Just stay calm, and don’t let Becker see you sweat.”
I nodded, clutching the equipment to my chest. “I’ll do my best.”
Ledger handed me a small black case to store the device, and when I closed it, the click echoed like the start of a countdown.
Less than twelve hours from now, I’d be standing in front of Becker
