He grew angrier as he spoke. “Just because we were taking care of Yvonne and missed Mom’s third anniversary, she’s had it in for us. I don’t know how she latched onto the Johnson family’s golden boy, but Sean was even protecting her tonight. She interfered when we were talking to Vector, almost costing us that partnership, and now she’s completely blocked us from even talking about this one. How can she be so vicious?”
Thinking about tonight, he gritted his teeth, wishing he could tear Tracy apart. Her behavior tonight had really stirred up a lot of hate. Now, she had thoroughly offended both him and his brother. Tracy could forget about ever coming back to the Xander family.
Yvonne tugged on Chase’s arm and said meekly “Chase, do you think Tracy has some misunderstanding about us? Is that why she’s doing all these awful things? When Linda called, I really couldn’t hear clearly. She probably thinks I intentionally didn’t tell you, so she’s angry and lashing out at us. It’s just a small thing. We just need to explain it to her. I’m sure she won’t blame us.”
Tracy only had these few tricks, always backstabbing people. Yvonne wasn’t worried. She was used to countering every move; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to secure her footing in the Xander family.
Listening to the two siblings sing the same tune. Jared wearily rubbed the space between his eyebrows and sank onto the sofa.
He sighed. “Sean wasn’t here to talk business tonight. He came to let Tracy vent.”
Sean had also said they were only able to meet him at all thanks to Tracy, but Jared left that part out. He felt it was unnecessary.
Saying it would only make them think he was incompetent and had to rely on his sister just to see Sean. It was too humiliating.
“What?” Chase stared at Jared in shock. “Are you serious?”
The Johnson family heir was actually helping Tracy vent? That was unbelievable. If that was true, didn’t that mean Tracy’s status had just shot up?
With her vindictive nature, anyone who had crossed her was in for a bad end. Tonight was just a warning, to tell them not to provoke her again, or she would disown them all. If they angered her, they would be the next ones dragged away.
That madwoman was just bullying people with borrowed power, but there wasn’t a single thing they could do about it. Her backer was the Johnson family’s golden boy, after all. Who in all of Northport would dare to disrespect Sean? Anyone who offended him had to be ready to go bankrupt at any moment.

Jared nodded. He didn’t have the energy to analyze Yvonne’s story. Since there was an explanation, he’d just let it go. He wasn’t the type to push an issue when he had the upper hand. His work already had him completely swamped; he didn’t want to be bothered by family drama.
A flash of resentment crossed Yvonne’s eyes, and her hands clenched unconsciously. Tracy had actually latched onto Sean.
But… a man’s interest was just a novelty. A woman like Tracy, who had no romantic charm, would be tossed aside as soon as Sean got bored of her.
Chandler was the perfect example. Tracy loved Chandler so much, but didn’t he fall for someone else?
She would just wait. Wait for the day Tracy was abandoned, a total loser. By then, no one would be left to help her. After all, with her arrogant attitude of bullying others, she had already offended everyone in the Xander family leaving herself no escape route.
So stupid.
Just then, Trevor and Faye returned. They saw everyone in the living room. Trevor sat on the sofa, taking off his jacket. “How did it go with the Johnson family’s golden boy today? Did you set a date to sign the contract?”
Tracy went to the police station with the officers and was questioned along with Quincy.
Quincy sat there quietly, no trace of her earlier arrogance, answering every question the police asked. Tracy was surprised Quincy was so calm; she wondered what Yvonne had said to her before they left.
She took out her phone, showed Officer Jorge the recording, and gave her statement. Everything went surprisingly smoothly.
Officer Jorge gave Quincy a stern warning, telling her that if she ever did this again, she would be detained.
Because of Quincy’s “good behavior,” she wasn’t detained. They just told her she could leave after her family was called to pick her up.
While they were waiting, Quincy sidled up to Tracy and said smugly, “You miscalculated this time, Tracy. I’m not being detained. Are you disappointed?”
Tracy just smiled, completely unbothered. “Quincy, I already got what I wanted. You’re just too stupid to see it.”
