Before his words had even finished, he was met with another slap. Natalie ground her teeth and snapped, “Leon, get lost! Do you think everyone is as shameless as you are?”
“Mr. Zach and I are merely shareholders, okay? am now a shareholder at Vector Tech. Why on earth would I go back to be an insignificant clerk for you?”
Thinking about how much she had done for Leon, only to receive his suspicion in return, she felt utterly cold.
Right after explaining, Natalie regretted it a little. Why did I waste my breath on that scumbag?
It was totally unnecessary.
Given her position, would she really stoop to pleasing a man with her body?

Hearing Natalie’s explanation, Leon suddenly realized something and immediately switched to a flattering expression.
He pulled Natalie closer and spoke in a gentle, conciliatory tone. “Natalie, I shouldn’t have misunderstood you. I’m sorry, but that was only because I love you so much! Will you come back to me? You want shares, right? I can give them to you. You can have as many as you
want.”
He believed that as long as Natalie returned to the company, Sand Corp would definitely support them, and the problems that had been plaguing him for days would be solved instantly.
And given how much Natalie loved him, she would surely agree. He was confident about that.
After all, she always fell for it when he lowered his attitude; it was a tactic that had always worked.
To his surprise, Natalie pulled away from Leon, curling her lip into a cold smile. “Now you think about giving me perks? Your company is on the verge of collapse, isn’t it? Didn’t you say I was incompetent and that all the credit belonged to you? Well, then you can go back and run that pathetic company yourself!”
In the past, she might have believed Leon. No matter what his friends said about her, she could look the other way.

Leon was about to say more when the phone in his pocket rang.
The call was from someone saved as “Susan.” He glanced at Natalie, then turned to answer it.
Susan’s tearful voice came through the line. “I was in a car accident! I’m in so much pain! Please hurry up and come help me.”
Leon’s face darkened, and he spoke softly, “Okay you stay put, don’t move. I’ll be right there.”
He hung up. Before Leon could speak, Natalie’s knuckles were white, and she mocked him. “Hurry up and go! Your crush needs you urgently, so stop coming after me. Otherwise, I’m calling security next time.”
Sure enough, a man’s mouth is a liar’s disguise. One second he’s trying desperately to coax her, and the next he’s rushing off because of a call from his crush.
He’s so phony.
That pathetic man. He’s trying to hold onto her while refusing to let go of his crush. What a complete jerk.
Natalie doesn’t need a pathetic man like that.
Leon was angered by Natalie, but the thought of Susan’s car accident made him impatient. “Can’t you be a little understanding? Susan was in a car accident, and I need to go see her. If you had any sense, you wouldn’t be causing a scene right now. Natalie, you need to spend the next few days thinking carefully about what you did wrong!”
With that, he turned and left in quick strides, not hesitating at all.
Natalie found it hilarious. What did I do wrong?
My mistake was causing a rift with my family for a roten person like him, and hurting my parents and brother.
I was so blinded by love, stubbornly giving up too much for Leon.
Thankfully, it’s not too late to fix everything. How could I possibly go back to him?
I’m not that pathetic.
The realization that his crush was still more important to Leon sent a pang of bitterness

Tracy walked toward her and patted her shoulder. “It’s a good thing you saw this guy’s true colors early. It’s much better than finding out after you’ve married him and had kids, isn’t it? You’ll feel sad for a while, but we have to move forward. Look at me, I was forced into a corner, and I still made it through.”
She gave Natalie a hug, offering comfort and strength, letting Natalie know through her actions that she would always be there for her.
Natalie collected her thoughts, then raised her hand and pushed Tracy away dismissively. “That’s disgusting. Don’t worry, a good horse doesn’t graze on its old pasture. I’m not going back.”
Tracy smiled at her. “That’s good.”

The two got into the elevator and went their separate ways. Back at her desk, Tracy quickly immersed herself in her work.
It was as if the unpleasantness of the morning hadn’t even happened; no one seemed to care about the interlude.
At ten o’clock, Tracy received a call from an unfamiliar number. She answered it.
The voice of a middle-aged man came through the line. “Ms. Xander, hello! I am your proxy lawyer, Grayson. The evidence collected is sufficient to have Ms. Gaunt detained for several days. Please let me know if you have any special requirements.”
Tracy glanced at the dense code on her computer screen, momentarily distracted.
Grayson must be the proxy lawyer Sean found for me. I heard he’s a star lawyer at Johnson Corp.
Sean is truly going above and beyond to help me because of his uncle’s life-saving kindness.
Thinking this, Tracy smiled and replied, “Hello, Grayson! I don’t have any special requests. Just follow legal procedures and do whatever is necessary.”
I feel a little thrill at the thought of Renee being detained for a few days. Why is that?
She remembered the care she had given Renee when she first married into the family. She had often tutored her late into the night just so Renee could get into a good university.

But later, she didn’t know when it started, but Renee stopped calling her ‘sister-in-law, and they interacted less and less. Renee only came over when she wanted Tracy to cook for her, and her attitude was terrible; she clearly treated Tracy as the family’s maid.
It wasn’t just Renee; the rest of the Gaunt family treated her the same way, not even bothering to pretend anymore.
They all looked down on her, seeing her existence as a burden to Chandler.
Given that relationship, she truly couldn’t think of a single reason to let Renee off the hook.
There was a moment of silence on the other end, then the lawyer said, “Understood, Ms. Xander. I will proceed with normal procedure. Just remember to be present for the court hearing on the sixteenth.”
After hanging up. Tracy was momentarily stunned. The Gaunt family is going to explode when

No wonder Chandler kept trying to negotiate terms with her he must be afraid of Renee going to jail and getting a criminal record.
