Chapter 90
Rafael was speechless.
Now that’s what I call playing favorites, Rafael grumbled inwardly.
Claudio took care of the lackeys around him, but instead of joining Laura and Linda in their fight, he stayed back with Rafael and Craig.
Honestly, the two of them glanced at each other. “Is it just me, or are we actually being protected by a dude right now?”
Craig nodded. “Yeah, it does feel kinda off.”
Rafael grumbled, “This totally breaks our First Unity Coven tradition.”
Craig shrugged. “Who cares? I made up that tradition in the first place.”
Rafael was speechless.
Laura’s eyes lit up more and more the longer she fought. She was the kind who only got fiercer as the battle went on.
After stuffing herself, she had way too much energy to burn. Now, she just let loose with her sword.
Every slash was absolutely unstoppable.
The Giantforce Sword’s light streaked across the sky like a rainbow, cutting through the clouds and showing off flashes of blinding white.
Laura’s eyes were shining. “Again!”
The two late–stage Gilded Core fighters turned pale. The mountain path ahead was split apart by Laura’s sword, and half the village had already been leveled.
Her energy just wouldn’t quit.
It was like she had endless stamina, never running out of steam.
Meanwhile, Linda just flicked her hand, and streams of mana light spilled out, keeping the three cultivators several feet away. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t get anywhere near her.
From the way the mana shimmered, it looked like she was using charms.
Linda’s gaze stayed cool and collected, like she’d planned every move. When she caught them staring, she just turned and flashed a smile.
The two late–stage Gilded Core cultivators suddenly thought, ‘Something’s seriously wrong here.
“These five are definitely not normal.‘
Travis was still yelling, “Hurry up. Don’t let them drag this out. If more people show up, we’re in real trouble!”
The two cultivators knew he was right. The longer this dragged on, the more things could go wrong. “Mr. Alexander’s formation can hold for a bit longer, but we need to finish this fast,” one of them said.
“Got it,” the other replied.
Gritting their teeth, they threw caution to the wind, letting their aura flare as their bodies burst out in golden light, each one manifesting their Gilded Core power.
Powerful golden light erupted from them first, and then Linda and her crew lit up with the same golden glow right after.

Claudio and Craig caught the whole thing.
“The Golden Spell,” Craig muttered.

Rafael blurted out, surprised, “They’re from the Pathfinding Coven. Aren’t they supposed to be down south? What are they doing on First Unity Coven turf?”
Linda’s expression stayed cool. “So the Pathfinding Coven is working with the Barber family now?”
The three of them didn’t answer, just stepped up their attacks.
Every move was aimed straight at Linda’s weak spots.
“She’s a charm caster, Break her Sanctuary!” one of them shouted
Only by crushing Linda’s soul could they stop her from casting charms. Otherwise, there was no way to get close to her. And she wasn’t just handling her own fight.
She was also supporting Laura’s side.
The golden charms drifting through the air were firmly shielding Laura, the girl swinging that giant sword.
They weren’t showy or attention–grabbing, just quietly working in the background.
But those golden charms never faded, quietly shielding her the whole time.
Linda was controlling the entire battlefield.
Rex Alexander had been hiding in the shadows, watching everything unfold. Seeing this, he barked coldly, “Cripple that girl in white first.”
At his command, the five of them immediately charged straight at Linda.
Laura’s attack missed, and when she turned to see her opponents rushing at Linda, her eyes blazed with anger. dare bully Linda!”
Claudio’s gaze grew cold too.
“Don’t you
With five Gilded Core cultivators bearing down on her, Linda’s lips curled into a faint smile. “This is exactly what I was waiting for,” she said.
With those words, Linda stepped forward.
The Star Maze Enchantment had already been triggered.
The five of them charged in, only to plunge straight into a thick, swirling fog.
Travis yelled, startled. “Where did this fog come from?”
Linda’s voice was cool and distant. “From your dreams.”
None of them could see each other, but Linda’s voice rang out, clear as day. Their hearts were pounding, so fast it was unreal.
“Where did everyone go?” Winston Manwaring crept through the mist, nerves jangling.
Linda’s voice sounded low and close in the mist. “Right here.”
Winston spun around and found Linda standing right behind him. She gave him a cold smile, his pupils shrank in fear. In

the next instant, her palm pierced straight through his belly.
Linda whispered. “Time for you to die.”
Winston’s eyes went wide in shock.
He dropped to the ground with a heavy thud.
“Winston!” The other two bolted after Linda, but she vanished into thin air right in front of them.
By the time they got close, Linda’s sword drove straight through their chests, leaving them no chance to react.

Out on the open patch by the village entrance, Travis and the crew stared, wide–eyed, at a scene so freaky it made their skin crawl.
The five Gilded Core cultivators who’d rushed Linda were suddenly dropping like flies, one collapsed, clutching his belly, and with a look of horror, actually ripped his own Gilded Core out.
Another, eyes glazed and movements jerky, yanked out his sword and rammed it straight through his teammate’s heart. But before he could even react, his teammate suddenly smashed his skull in with a punch, out of nowhere.
It was creepy as hell.
The whole thing was downright bizarre.
Linda was just chilling in the center of the mist, fiddling with a little stone. Noticing everyone staring at her, she looked up and gave them a cool, confident smile.
“Alright, folks, don’t stop now. Keep going!” she called out.
The two late–stage Gilded Core cultivators were the only ones left, goosebumps prickling their skin as they edged back, step by step.
They kept retreating until their backs were against the wall, with nowhere left to run.
