Noah
I walked out of the bathroom hoping to find Aiden close enough that I could yank him into one of the stalls and suck him off while he griped and whined about how risky and dangerous the whole thing was–but let me do it anyway. Just the thought had me smirking.
The smirk didn’t last.
“Noah!” Lexie’s happy voice rang out. “Quite the star you are
tonight…”
Shit. Instinctively I wiped the coach’s dirty thoughts off my face like she could just read them by looking at me.
“Lex,” I said quickly, plastering on a smile. “You look beautiful as always.” And she did–shiny hair, glittering eyes, that perfect smile. The kind of girl everyone noticed the second she walked into a room.
She laughed lightly, looping her arm through mine as we headed back toward the tables. “And I’m so proud of the new team. You all looked incredible out there.”

“Thanks,” I muttered, trying not to trip over my own feet.
Then she slipped it in, smooth as butter. “So… how come you didn’t bring your girlfriend? The guys commented you were dating
someone.”
My brain stuttered. Girlfriend? Which girlfriend?
Oooh… shit. She must’ve meant the girl I pretended to be with. What was her name again? Candy? Cindy? Fuck.
I shook my head, hoping my panic didn’t show. “No, not really. I hung out with someone a couple times, but just friends.”
And just like that, I saw it. Her entire body language shifted.
Shoulders relaxed, eyes a little brighter, lips parting in that way that said, Oh, he’s available.
“So, keeping yourself open for the perfect girl,” she teased, smiling like she knew something.
I laughed awkwardly, I knew I was supposed to say something cheesy right now, like What if I already found the perfect girl? Jesus, just thinking about it made me want to gag. The things horny guys said to pretty girls…

And don’t get me wrong–I was horny. After my latest state of forced abstinence, my body was dying for release. The thought of being inside someone–warm, soft, beautiful–was enough to make me twitch. And Lexie? She was gorgeous. From her face, all bright blue eyes and lashes, to the silky blonde hair, the hourglass body, those legs, big tits, nice round ass–all perfect. If I were Ken, she’d have
been my Barbie, no question.
But unfortunately for both of us, I wasn’t exactly interested. At least not the way she wanted. Still, with my whole Cindy/Candy cover story blown, I figured I’d better start pretending before rumors got out of
control.
I gave her my best grin as we neared the tables again. “Once this crazy boot camp is over, I’ll be able to breathe a little.”
She tilted her head, smiling knowingly. “Has your coach been keeping
you really busy?”
I smiled on the inside. Oh, you have no idea.
Out loud, I just said, “We’ve all been busy. But yeah–I’m the outsider,
so I’ve gotta work harder to prove myself.”
She brushed it off with a laugh, leaning in slightly. “Well, you’re already impressing people. My father included. You should come meet

him. He’s very interested in you after that introduction.”
I risked a glance toward Aiden. Even surrounded by fans, drinks in hand, people buzzing at him from every side, he hadn’t missed a damn thing. His eyes were locked on me and Lexie, throwing daggers sharp enough I swore I felt them between my shoulder blades. I
looked away fast, conflicted, like I’d just been caught stealing
something.
Lexie’s father was already motioning us closer. “Noah, come, sit with
us.”
William Hart was all polished charm and quiet power, the kind of man who didn’t need to raise his voice to get a room’s attention. He studied me as I sat, then glanced at Lexie beside me, his smile softening in that indulgent father way, like he’d move heaven and earth to make her happy.
“I’ve heard quite a lot about you,” he said smoothly. “Your stats are impressive–more than impressive. If half of what’s been said about your arm is true, you’ve got better numbers than some of the pros.” And I have to say, watching you tonight… you do look the part.”
I swallowed, heat crawling up my neck. “Thank you, sir.‘
His gaze flicked between me and Lexie, lingering a little too long

before coming back to me. “If you really are what they say–a
promising star with discipline and drive–well, I believe in helping the right kind of talent reach its potential. Sponsorship,
introductions, guidance. With the right support, doors open. Big
doors.”
My chest squeezed. NFL. Contracts. The future laid out like a
glittering road.
And then he leaned back, eyes narrowing just slightly, and said, “And if my daughter believes in you, well… if she’s happy, I’m happy.”
Lexie smiled, radiant, like the conversation was already going her way. I forced a smile back, dizzy with the thought. It wasn’t an offer, not exactly. Just a suggestion. A subtle promise hanging in the air- opportunity tied up neatly with a bow that looked a hell of a lot like
Lexie Hart.
For a split second, I let myself picture it. Fame. Sponsorship. A real shot. My name in lights.
And then I shoved it back down, hard. I wasn’t a whore. I wasn’t about to ditch Aiden’and crawl into some investor’s pocket because it glittered with possibility. But still… just the thought lingered. A temptation tucked away like a card in the deck.

I stood, thanking Mr. Hart politely, shaking his hand like I’d just been
offered a golden ticket to the future. As I turned to leave, Lexie rose with me, her short lavender dress swishing in perfect time with her
body. She leaned in close, voice bright.
“My father really seems to like you,” she said. “I can’t wait for us all
to cheer you on at your first big game.”
I grinned, awkward but flattered. “Guess we’ll see if I’m worth the
hype.”
She laughed softly, her arm brushing mine as we walked. “You will be. I can tell.” Then, with a sly tilt of her head, “Would you like to leave?
Take a walk?”
The question hit like a sucker punch. I knew damn well where that might end. And Jesus, just the thought–her body, all curves and blonde shine, willing, warm–had my cock twitching, hard in an instant. My body was screaming yes, begging for any kind of release after days of holding back.
I sucked in a breath, forcing my head to win over my dick. “I can’t,” I said finally. “I’m supposed to stay and mingle, you know? Meet the people. Maybe some other time?”
“Of course,” she said sweetly, leaning up to press a kiss to my cheek.

“See you soon, Noah.”
I froze, her perfume clinging to me like evidence, then lifted my eyes -looking for Aiden, half–concerned about how he’d read that kiss.
But he wasn’t in the room anymore.
