Chapter 62 Powerful Being
The power level wasn’t that high, just enough to raise a small mound of dirt, but the positioning was perfect. Whoever did this had wedged them in exactly the right spot.
Within seconds, Iris‘ view filled with countless zombies pouring out from every corner of the massive factory complex. They streamed out of the cafeteria area, spilled from workshops of all different sizes, and staggered out of the office building.
Most of them still wore their factory uniforms and moved like they were heading to their shifts. The sheer number of bodies surging forward almost looked like the factory’s old rush hour, back when it had been operational. ·
Of course, that illusion only worked if she ignored their rotting, maggot–infested faces crawling with flies.
This entire factory had become a zombie nest.
“Ha! You idiots probably don’t even know I’m a metahuman!” Dana stood on the rooftop, watching the armored vehicle get surrounded by the zombie horde, and he couldn’t stop grinning.
“That’s what you get for leaving us behind and running off on your own! This is what you deserve! Go ahead and die!”
That’s right! They abandoned us, so screw them!” The othe3:46

couldn’t survive, then nobody else should get to either.
The whole group watched eagerly, waiting to see the zombies tear apart the vehicle and everyone inside it. Then suddenly, a massive boom echoed across the factory yard.
A turret rose from the top of the armored vehicle that was completely buried under zombies.
Flames erupted from the cannon and blasted outward in all directions. Within seconds, every zombie on top of the vehicle had been incinerated and cleared away.
More zombies tried climbing up immediately, but razor–sharp spikes shot out from the armor plating all over the exterior.
The armored vehicle roared back to life with a thunderous rumble. The ultra–modern vehicle the system had rewarded her with automatically lifted its undercarriage, and that little dirt mound they’d built became completely irrelevant.
Iris slammed on the gas and the massive vehicle burst out of the zombie swarm.
This time though, she wasn’t driving away from the factory. She headed straight toward the building.
In the eyes of those with power, people had no inherent good or

More than that, people were simply nothing at all.
Iris didn’t feel any savior complex when she rescued someone, and she wouldn’t feel any guilt killing them either.
If they waited honestly for rescue, she’d save them and welcome them as law–abiding residents at her base. But if they dared pull dirty tricks on her with all their scheming and manipulation, then those people could go to hell.
Iris gunned the engine and drove the armored vehicle right up to the base of the factory building where they were trapped.
She retracted the cannon, let the zombies climb all over her vehicle, and extended a stairway from the top of the armored
car.
The people on the rooftop watched the vehicle still swarmed by zombies and couldn’t laugh anymore. Just moments ago, when they’d seen Iris and Logan getting attacked, they’d felt nothing but pure satisfaction.
Serves them right for not rescuing us, they’d thought. Let them die. Die already. Die right in front of us!
But now, the zombies they’d released were climbing up Iris‘ vehicle and heading straight for them. Every single person up there felt the terror of having provoked something demonic.

what they’d given her today.
The zombies climbed the ladder Iris had created and reached the rooftop quickly. The first one that made it up immediately lunged at them. They tried to knock it down but there was a massive horde pouring up behind it.
Everyone scrambled away in terror, but there was nowhere left to run. The iron door behind them was full of zombies, and beyond that was a sheer drop. No way out whatsoever.
The rooftop was overrun within seconds. Dana saw the zombie wave coming and immediately grabbed several people to use as human shields.
He rushed to the edge of the rooftop and activated his power to raise the ground below. His ability was weak, but desperate situations could push him harder. A small dirt ramp rose from the ground and Dana figured he could jump down safely.
At that moment, Iris watched his movements coldly on the monitor screen. She saw him jump and drawled, “Logan.”
“Yes!”
A powerful jet of water dozens of times stronger than Dana’s ability instantly destroyed the landing ramp he’d built.

Iris gave her armored vehicle a good shake to knock off any zombies still clinging to it, then pulled back from the horde. The sun was setting, and zombies always got more aggressive once darkness fell, so she retreated from the factory complex. As she drove away, she spotted another group of survivors huddled on a rooftop across from them.
That group had been watching them for a while now. They were all pressed together on the roof like scared deers, trembling as they witnessed everything that had just gone down.
Iris looked away and waved at Logan to move out. After they left, the people on the rooftop rushed to the edge.
“They’re gone.”
“They actually left.”
Their leader was a middle–aged man who was still trying to process what he’d just seen. “They’ve got powers too, and they’re a way more stronger than Dana. They’re on a completely different level.”
Everyone nodded in agreement. Those people weren’t some rescue team with a duty to save civilians, willing to risk their lives to help strangers. They definitely weren’t the kind of people you could push around or take advantage of either.
They were incredibly powerful. They had professional

anything they’d seen.
They could steamroll through a factory full of zombies like it was nothing. These were people you could only look up to, completely out of their league.
