They should finish and leave by 5pm
With his order given, the team split up and t to work
Iris once again joined Derek and Brett’s group
A rough guess formed in Iris‘ mind about Damon’s mission
The pharmaceutical factory must hold supplies valuable enough to warrant sending Damon and a Spatial–type metahuman like Louisa.
But what could be so critical here?
And was there a link to the Zombie King from her past life?
A sudden crash echoed beside her–a zombie in a tattered green hospital gown lunged, slamming hard into the glass wall of the office to her right.
A vivid streak of blood splattered across the glass, right in front of Iris‘ eyes.
It opened its gaping maw, bloodshot jaws gnawing at the glass like a rabid demon. Its nose, mouth, and cheekbones pressed tight against the surface, distorting as it feasted uncontrollably. 1/5

Derek and Brett drew their pistols–their heavy weapons lost only light arms remaining.
The noise attracted the attention of nearby teams.
“What’s happening?” someone called out.
“Captain Flint! There’s a zombie here!” Derek shouted.
Damon rushed over with the others.
Louisa stared at the zombie in the office row, certain. “This is the place!”
“Are you sure?” Damon asked.
“This is the lab area! It must be in one of these rooms–1 just can’t pinpoint which. Search them all!” Louisa instructed.
Damon inwardly cursed her incompetence but waved his hand, ordering everyone to search the row.
Iris followed behind, noticing the area differed drastically from the left side.
Instead of precision instruments, each room contained hospital beds, resembling wards.

five.
Detecting living beings, they hurled themselves at the glass, gnawing frantically.
An eerie tension hung in the air–surrounded by the undead, separated only by a thin pane of glass.
One crack, one shatter, and chaos would erupt.
Walking behind the advance scouts, Iris observed carefully, he mind racing.
All the zombies here were intact, no bite marks on their bodies meaning they’d mutated on their own, not from being bitten.
Why were so many contained mutated zombies here?
Had the factory been researching them before the zombie virus outbreak?
Iris doubted this small lab was the virus‘ origin.
The outbreak had hit globally at once; a single source would have spread outward from Aster City, not consumed the world simultaneously.
Still, it didn’t rule out early government research–they might have discovered the virus before it erupted.

One thing, was clear–this pharmaceutical factory was far from ordinary,
Damon hailed from the powerful Base K1, known for its evolution liquid. Their mission here was likely linked to that.
Lost in thought, Iris was interrupted by a voice up ahead.
“Pound it! This is the one!”
Louisa marched forward confidently, stopping before a fully enclosed metal door–resembling the radiation–shielded doors of a nuclear medicine room from her past life.
She swiped her card with a beep, and a password prompt flickered on the screen.
Guarded by her men, she typed in the code. But the screen indicated a second administrator card was required: [Please swipe the No.2 Administrator Card.]
All eyes turned to Iris.
“Ms. Hale, could you return my card?” Damon requested.
Strolling over slowly, Iris murmured, “Are you begging me?”
Louisa snapped, her temper flaring. Begging? That card kylenged to them!

The lingering ache in her neck reminded her of the earlier confrontation, so she bit back her words, glaring at Damon to resolve the standoff.
Damon sighed in exasperation, saying, “Ms. Hale, cooperate.”
“Cooperation’s possible–for a price. I’m going in with you,” I said casually, twirling the card between her fingers.
“No!” Louisa snapped.
“No? Then I’ll head back first.” Iris turned to leave. “Logan, let
go!”
