Chapter 101
Even though the plan was to stay the night in Greenwoods, I wanted
to go home. I didn’t want to spend any more time in the place that
had given me nothing yet taken everything away.
I asked Rocky if I could drive back with him and Taylor offered to ride
with Blake. She hadn’t said more than two words to me, and I knew
she was trying to avoid me. Right now, I didn’t care. I, to some length,
understood why she didn’t tell me about what Rocky was. Blake had
explained the whole secrecy thing, and it was between the two of
them. Somehow, I doubted I would have believed them anyway.
The start of the journey back was quiet. Neither of us knew what to
say. It wasn’t like we had never been alone together. I guess it was
more than our dynamics had changed. I kept trying to start a
conversation, but somehow it ended in a one–word answer.
“You must have a few questions about the events that unfolded
tonight.” He finally broke the ice.
“I do, but I don’t know what those questions are. I keep trying to
think about what I want to know and what I need to be explained, but
my brain turns off like it doesn’t want to know. I’ve lived this lie for
28 years, and today it’s all been shattered. So how does someone find
answers to that?” I looked down at my hands and fiddled with my

fingers.
“I’m still the same person, Rosy. Nothing about me has changed, just
like with Blake. It’s all the same. If you look at it, we both always
wished we had siblings. We wished that so hard that it came true. I
still can’t believe you’re my half–sister.” He let out a big sigh.
“Do you regret it? Wishing you had a sister, now that you know who
your sister is?” My voice was low, and I was nervous to hear his
answer.
“Of course not! I’m happy you’re my sister. You and I have been
through so much. I feel like this is a blessing. I don’t have to explain
my life to you because you’ve lived it with me,” he laughed.
“But I’m sure there are questions you have about my life. The life I
didn’t tell you about,” he sobered up from his laughing and clenched
the steering wheel.
“How long-… how long have you known you were a wer-… a
werewolf?” I didn’t know how to ask the question.
“Since I was 16. You turn on your 16th birthday. After that, you go
through some training, and once your 21, you’re a fully matured
wolf.” He replied.

He reached over and squeezed my hands.
“Ask me more, please. I don’t want this to be awkward.”
“Does Taylor know?”
He sighed again. “Yes, she does. I’m sorry we never told you. We
couldn’t. It’s against the rules to tell anyone that doesn’t need to
know.”
“Is-… is-…she one as well?” I hesitated.
“Not yet. She’s my mate, but we just weren’t ready for that
commitment. Taylor asked if we could wait till we were ready to get
married before we finished the bonding. Taylor is half–blood like you.
Grace was the full blood that then passed down to Mrs. Callum and then to Taylor. The boys haven’t shown any signs, and Mrs. Callum
didn’t either. It was just Taylor that had the scent.”
“Is that why you both have never gone out with other people?
Because you knew?”
Rocky nodded and smiled “she’s felt the attraction too. Not as much as I do, but she keeps saying no matter how much she tries, the love
Taylor has for me, she can never have for someone else.”

I chuckled. From the beginning, Taylor was smitten by Rocky. When
they first met at school, she said he was the one. Then, every time
they went on a date, she would come back even more smitten.
“You can’t tell her I told you all this. It’s her story to tell, and you
should definitely talk to her about it. Once we found out you were
Blake’s mate, she’s been itching to talk to you about it. But with how
you freaked out that night at the picnic, I didn’t want to say anything
with Blake approving it first.”
