“I-… I don’t know” was all I managed.
“You know how long I’ve been looking for you? When Richard
told me about you, I asked him to bring you home. Begged him to
bring you away from the pit your mother had you in. He kept saying
that he didn’t want to remind me of the mistakes he had made and so
he couldn’t.” Tears were sliding down her cheeks as she looked me up
and down like she had seen me for the first time.
“When he left, I begged him to tell me where you were. I begged
him just to let me see you once because my conscience couldn’t live
with the knowledge that my foolish mate had left an innocent girl in
a whores house. Little did I know that you were right here. That your
brother had already found you. God, I wish I had known earlier.”
Her words pinched my heart, and I let go of all the tears I was
holding on to. My tears streamed down my face and blurred my
vision.
“I’m so sorry, Theresa. So very sorry. What my mother did, it’s not
forgivable. She was the reason your family fell apart. I don’t know
how you can be so kind towards me, knowing I’m the reason your
husband walked out.”

your fault. What Richard did, it’s all on him. A child is never to blame
for the mistakes their parents make. You didn’t ask to come into this
world. You didn’t ask to be associated with your mum’s world. I just
want you to be happy. You may be a Peters, but you were born a
Waltz. Embrace that name, sweetheart.”
“Technically, she’s a Cooper now. Ma” Rocky laughed from behind
his mother. She turned and whacked him on his arm.
“She’s not a Cooper yet. She’s going to be my daughter first
before I let the big bad wolf take her away” she laughed and pulled
me into a hug.

I felt another pair of arms wrap around us. Rocky’s warm embrace
made my heart full. He squeezed us and sighed.
“Come on, guys. Your crying is breaking my heart,” Rocky said,
squeezing us again.
“M-… mi-…. mine too,” Taylor sobbing filled the room.
I opened my eyes to see Taylor standing next to Blake, crying.

Blake was rubbing her shoulder, trying to calm her down.
“Oh god, come here, little one” Rocky laughed and pulled away. He
walked over to Taylor and wrapped his arms around her.
Theresa held me at arm’s length.
“So Rosy, what do you say? Would you like to join the Waltz family? Be a crazy person like us?” Theresa laughed.
“Yes, Ma, I do,” I said, carefully watching her face lit up with a
grin.

“Shut up, will you! Ruining all the moments,” Taylor finally
wiping her eyes.
“Welcome to the family, sweetheart. I am one lucky lady. 2 sons and two daughters that love each other and me more than I could ask for.” A single year slide down her cheek.

Theresa looked around.
“Yes!!” The boys yelled in a union.
Theresa laughed and walked into the kitchen.
I watched Rocky hug Taylor and comfort her. They were always so

“We’re not ready yet for that kinda commitment.” Taylor’s same
