Chapter 114
I know you will not be overly excited about Greg’s arrival. However, I
really need your help. I have sent you all the information you will
need on Greg and why he is there. In this file, you have very
confidential information. Please read it carefully and ensure Greg
doesn’t see it. Our business in Bakers Field is at stake here, and by
“our,” I mean you too.
Nate and I are working in the background for a permanent solution, but for now, please help me out, kiddo. It’s a sincere request from this old man. Blake said, you wouldn’t turn me down. I initially suggested you go to Bakers Field, but Blake threatened not to give me great-
grandchildren if I made you go.
I totally understand if you don’t want to do this. Call me if you have
any issues.
Thanks, kiddo! All the best.
Love,
D Cooper.

Chapter 114
I closed my eyes and sighed. Ugh! I could
n’t say no to that. Because
of Dwayne Cooper, I had become what I am today. How do I say no?
I zoned out of the meeting and started reading through the folder. Greg’s history was fascinating, and so was all the information in the folder. By the time I was done reading, the meeting was over, and everyone started to leave. I got up and collected my belongings.
“You lucky bitch. First, you get the billionaire hunk; now you’ve got Greg too. Can you please let us have some fun too?” Sarah complained as we walked to the door.
“Please take both of them. I could care less right now” I rolled my
eyes.
Greg awkwardly stood near his chair, looking at his hands. I sighed and walked over to him.
“I’m sorry about my reaction. I wasn’t asked or told about this arrangement, and it’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have made you uncomfortable.”
I stuck out my hand. “I’m Rosalie Peters. Call me Rosy” I introduced
myself.

Greg put his hand out and shook my hand.
“It’s totally fine. I only got told about this yesterday as well. So I
don’t hold anything against you. It’s nice to meet you. I’ve heard a
lot.” He smiled at me.
“Lord, I hope it’s all good things. Come on, I’ll show you to the spare office, and then I’ll take you for a walk around so you can see a few things. I’ve got a team meeting at 1 pm, so you and I can have a chat about how you want to progress between now and then” I started to
walk out of the conference room.
As we walked out the door, I heard a familiar voice call my voice. I
stopped and slowly turned around to face an annoyed Blake.

“Can I please see you in my office?” He said, looking between Greg
and me.
“I have a scheduled meeting now, Blake. Can we have a chat later? Just got a few things happening this morning on top of the extra work you guys give me without consultation.” I narrowed my eyes at him.
Blake clenched his jaws, and anger flashed through his face.
“Okay” was all he said before walking away.

“Wow. Mr. B didn’t look very happy. You’ve got some balls,” Greg
chuckled.
“Uh–huh,” I turned towards my office.
Greg followed close behind. I spotted Lilly at her desk as we got
closer.
“Lillian, my office, NOW!” I said loudly before opening my office door and walking in. I motioned for Greg to have a seat.
“What what what?! What happened?! Whatever it is, I didn’t do it!” She burst through the door looking panicked.
“People just love to piss me off early in the morning. Don’t worry. No one died,” I muttered. Not yet anyway.
“You said, Lillian. No one calls me that unless I’m in trouble.” She
looked scared.
“Lilly, nothing happened. Listen, I’d like you to meet Greg. He will be working with us for the next few. Can you please get that spare office cleaned out for him?” I started to sort out the files on my table.
“Yeah, sure thing” Lilly introduced herself to Greg and disappeared.

Chapter 114
“So, tell me, what inspired you to want to do this job?” Greg was
making small talk.
“Well, I wasn’t really looking for this job. I had finished my Masters in Sales and Marketing and Finance and got an internship here at Cooper & Co. I had just started my second Bachelor’s degree. Dwayne Cooper visited one day and fired the previous Sales and Marketing manager due to fraud. I was helping the department pick up the pieces and honestly put my heart and soul into every job they gave me. Three weeks later, Dwayne Cooper calls me into his office and offers me the job. He said he loved my determination and persistence. He thought I could do great things, and he wanted to help me achieve
it.”
“I explained to him that I was still studying, and he said do what you need too, but this job is yours. Here we are six years later, still working my ass off” I was going through reports and collecting all the stuff I needed for the meeting.
“Wow. That’s impressive. Mr. Cooper did say you were very driven. So do share, how do you run your department?” He asked, leaning
forward in his seat.
I smiled at him “come, let me show you.”
