Chapter 129
“I don’t celebrate my birthday. It’s just another day. I don’t find the
need to celebrate something that’s caused so much pain to others.” I
looked down at the cake. I had stopped celebrating my birthday when
I was 18. Blake knew that.

“Okay, baby. No celebration. Whatever you want. Can I at least have
a cuddle?” He was standing behind me again.
“No, Max, you may not. I would like you to leave before Blake finds out you were here” I pushed him away and created distance between
- us.
“Baby, what are you talking about? It’s me, Blake,” he laughed
nervously.
I took another step back. I knew it wasn’t Blake.
Max’s face dropped, and his forehead creased.
“How did you even know it was me and not Blake?!” The warmth
was gone, and cold Max was back.
“You will never make me feel the way Blake does. Never. I

understand you want to make me feel something for you, but the only
things I feel are kindness or empathy. That’s all.”
“At least try. Please. I’m not as bad as everyone makes me out to be,
Rosy. I can be warm and kind; just give me a chance” he took a step
And tried to grab me.
I moved away immediately and quickly shoved my hands into my robe pocket to press my phone button three times so it would dial
Blake’s number.
“Stay away from me. I’ve asked you to leave me alone, Max.” I begged, backing away from his advances.
“Rosy, please. This is my only chance to have a mate. The only way I’ll feel a little more part of my werewolf family. Just give it one try.
You will feel something!” He kept moving closer.
I prayed that Blake had answered the call and was in his way.
Just then, the main door flung open, and a furious Rocky stood at
the doorway.
“What is with you assholes trying to force my sister into things she doesn’t want?!” He exclaimed through clenched jaws. He walked over
to me and examined me.

“I’m fine. Just get Max out of here.”
Rocky nodded and turned towards Max “aAlright, asshole. Let’s go.
Shows over.”
Max put his hand up, stopping Rocky.
“At least let me take you on one date. Just one. So you can see I’m
not so bad.” Max was back to begging.
“No, Max! Why don’t you understand? I don’t want to see or feel
anything. I’m sure deep down you’re a really nice guy, but I don’t
care. I don’t care if you can do hugs and kisses. I love Blake, and I
would never change that. Please try and understand.”
Max looked a little taken back, but he didn’t say anything. He
turned around and grabbed a t–shirt that was sitting on the couch. He
pulled it on and walked towards the door.

He stopped at the doorway and looked over his shoulder. “I will find
a way to make you mine if that’s the last thing I do. Blake will not
take the one good thing that could happen to me. He has everything,
and I want just one thing” he walked out, slamming the door shut
behind him.

I let go of the breath I was holding and stared at the closed door.

When will Max stop?!
“Rosy?” Rocky’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
I turned towards him and gave him a tight smile.
“How did you know?” I asked him.
“Blake linked me. He got your call. He’s still on the phone if you
want to talk to him” he gave me a small smile.
I pulled out my phone and pressed it to my ear.
“Blakey?”
“Hey Angel, you okay?” He asked, his voice filled with concern.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Max didn’t hurt me.”
“He won’t hurt you, Angel. I know my brother can be an asshole, but
he won’t hurt you. I’m on my way. Rocky will stay with you until I get
there.” I could hear that he was driving.
“Okay,” and I hung up.

I sighed loudly and picked up my coffee cup.
“You okay?” Rocky was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his
phone.
