He chuckled” fix and fill the holes in your life aye? Oh, there’s a hole between your legs I do want to fill actually. What’s to say I’m not
doing it just for that?” He got even more closely with every word he said. There was a cheeky smirk playing on his face.
His words dawned on me and I felt my cheeks heat up.
“Is that what you want?” I whispered.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled my flush against his chest.
“I want you. All of you. Your past, your present and your future. You are beautiful Rosalie and I wish I could show you how beautiful through my eyes. You have an unfortunate past but I don’t define you by that. I define you by your present and in the present, I see a very smart, successful, independent and sassy woman whom I want to call my wife. I assure you my family feel the same way. So please,
stop with the whole I’m a hookers daughter and believe when I say I want a future with you”
I felt tears forming in the corner of my eye. His words were making my insides mushy and I really wanted to believe him.
“Forgive me for being sceptical. My past has given me wounds that have taught me not to believe words but actions.” I knew I sounded like an absolute jerk for saying that but it was the reality of my life. I had believed in Vince and he was someone I had known for a very
long time. I hardly knew Blake.
Blake let go of me and took a step back.
“That’s why we are here Rosy, so I can show you I’m not lying. Hopefully, I succeed. Anyway, this is your room, settle in and freshen up. I’m in the room to your left as you walk out. Let me know if you need anything”
He turned around and walked out. I felt shit! He was being so sweet and sincere and I was being a bitch! I just didn’t understand why
he was so adamant that he wanted to marry me.
He kept referring back to his parent’s relationship. They had met twice before marriage and the love between them ignited for the rest of their life. Was it that simple? To just fall in love with someone?
He had never said he was in love with me, though his actions some days made me question it.
I opened my bag and grabbed my toiletries and a plain knee–length dress. While I was here, for even the shortest amount of time, I was at least going to try and fit in. After seeing Blake’s mum, I felt underdressed!
The balcony door was open and a slight breeze made the curtains fluttered. The balcony overlooked the backyard of the Cooper Mansion. There was a gorgeous pool with a pool house on one side and an entertainment area on the other side. There was even a
projection screen set up in the entertainment area.
The pool was surrounded by a massive lawn with the lawn ending at what I would describe being a forest. Tall pine trees arched around

the lawn with the mansion nestled in the middle. Huntly was a seaside town like Mariners Bay but it sat at the end of the bay that was
shared by main other towns. It was the town that had the best of both the sea and the forest.
walked over to the door to close it when my eyes landed on a large dog walking past the pool house towards the forest. I had never
seen a dog that big before. It looked like a husky on steroids.

Suddenly a loud howl erupted from the forest startling me. I gasped and the dog looked up towards me. Did it hear me?! It tilted his
head to one side and stared at me. Its eyes held me captive. From the distance, I couldn’t make out the colour but the fact that it was
staring directly at me gave me goosebumps.
Another howl erupted and echoed through the forest. The dog looked towards the forest and I took the opportunity to quickly close the door and shut the curtains. Weird shit. My heart was racing and my mind didn’t want to believe what I had just seen. Was that a dog or a
wolf?! Neither animal should be that big right?
I picked up my things and walked into the bathroom. Maybe a shower would help me recover from what I had seen.
