The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Cha…
Chapter 413
And then it was just us. Our family.
I picked up Arianna while Tristan got Adrian, and we carried
them upstairs to their nursery. The room had been redecorated twice
as they’d grown–first to accommodate their crawling, then again
when they started pulling up on furniture.
Now it was a mix of cribs they were almost too big for, toy boxes
overflowing with gifts, and the woodland theme we’d chosen before
they were born that still felt perfect.
We laid them in their cribs, tucking blankets around them even
though they’d probably kick them off within minutes.
“Goodnight, baby girl,” I whispered to Arianna, stroking her soft
hair. “Happy birthday. Mama loves you so much.”
“Goodnight, buddy,” Tristan said to Adrian. “Happy birthday.
Daddy’s so proud of you.”
We stood there for a moment, watching them sleep, before finally
retreating to our own bedroom.

I collapsed onto the bed face–first. “I’m exhausted.”

“Me too,” Tristan said, lying down beside me. “But it was worth
“Completely worth it.”
We lay there in comfortable silence, both too tired to move, but
too content to care.
“Tristan?” I said eventually.
“Yeah, baby?”
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For this. All of this. Our life, our family, our babies. For loving
- me. For being an amazing father. For being my partner in all of this
craziness.”
“Athena.” He rolled to face me, his hand cupping my cheek. I should be thanking you. You gave me everything. A reason to live
again. A family. A future I actually want to see. You saved me in every
way a person can be saved.”

“We saved each other,” I said, the same words we’d spoken at our
wedding, at our mating ceremony, countless times since.
“We did,” he agreed. “And I’d do it all again. Every moment. Every
challenge. Every sleepless night and chaotic day. All of it, a thousand
times over, if it meant ending up right here with you.”
I kissed him then, soft and sweet and full of promise. A kiss that
said everything words couldn’t, how much I loved him, how grateful I
was, how perfect our imperfect life had become.
When we broke apart, we just held each other, listening to the
quiet house around us.
From the nursery, I heard one of the twins stir–a small sound,
quickly settling back into sleep.
Our babies. Our miracle twins who’d come early and fought their
way into the world. Who were growing stronger every day. Who had
gifts we were still learning to understand and help them control.
Our family wasn’t traditional. It was complicated and sometimes
overwhelming. We lived with my brother and his family because it
made more sense than living apart. Our children had abilities that we
had to carefully monitor and teach them to manage. We were
werewolves trying to raise kids in a world that didn’t understand what

we were.
But it was ours.
And lying there in Tristan’s arms, in the house we’d made a
home, with our babies sleeping safely down the hall and family just
rooms away, I couldn’t imagine wanting anything different.
We’d been broken, both of us. Lost and grieving and convinced
our chances at happiness had passed us by.
But the Moon Goddess had brought us together. Given us a
second chance. Given us love and family and a future that was
brighter than anything I’d ever imagined.
“I love you,” I whispered into the darkness.
“I love you too,” Tristan whispered back. “Always.”
And as I drifted off to sleep, safe in my mate’s arms, I sent up a
silent prayer of gratitude.
For second chances.
For love that healed.

Chapter 413
For family that supported.
For babies who brought joy every single day.
For a life that was complicated and messy and absolutely perfect.
For everything we’d been through and everything still to come.
For all of it.
For us.
And I was sure our babies are going to be great, they’ll make
mistakes but they’ll be fine because they have their family.
THE END
Adrian and Arianna’s story will continue in Book 2: “The biker’s
savage Luna” and “The Biker’s human mate”
