Wow, this family likes very big things. This kitchen is the size of my house.
Come on, love. I’ve asked our parents to meet us in our father’s office; the good thing is that we don’t even have to go into the living
room.” Dominic said.
“Right.
We left the kitchen and walked down a huge corridor, turning left and continuing to walk. They stopped in front of a gray door. Max opened the door, and I tensed up to find his parents and Lisa.
“Daddy!” She ran up to him, and he quickly picked her up. “I missed you, Daddy.
“I missed you too, my princess. “He kissed her, and hearing her laugh calmed me down a lot.
“Lary!” Holding out his arms to me, he handed her to me. “I missed you too.
“Hi, my princess. I missed you too. “I kissed her beautiful cheek.
“Uncle here doesn’t get greeted, does he? I was sad. “He made a sad face.
“I haven’t forgotten, uncle. “I passed it to him. “I missed you, uncle.
“I missed you too, princess.” He kissed her cheek.
“It’s good to see you again, Miss Hilary.” I felt nervous.
“It’s good to see you again,
ma’am.
“You don’t have to call me ma’am, dear. We’re only ten years apart.
“Right. “I replied without being able to face her, wondering how she would react to knowing that I was dating her children,
“What do you want to talk to us about, children? Is it something that urgent?” Her father suddenly said:,
Max looks a lot like him: dark skin, dark brown hair, light eyes, tall; he’s not as muscular as Max, and he doesn’t have a beard.
“We want to tell you that we’re dating this beautiful woman,” Dominic said, pulling me close to him.
I could see their reaction; his mother didn’t seem too surprised, only his father.
“Well, I already suspected that this might happen,” she said, smiling. “I was enchanted by your beauty, Hilary. I knew that my sons

weren’t attracted to older women, but when I saw you, I had an idea of what might happen. I’m glad my intuition was right.
Furthermore, I’m very surprised.
“Well, if my children are happy, that’s what matters to me. They’re grown up and know what they’re doing, so welcome to the Russo
family, my daughter–in–law. I’m Alessandro; nice to meet you.” He smiled gently.
I smiled back, still not understanding. Had they accepted so quickly? Was I nervous for nothing?
“”
‘You mean Lary is going to be my mommy? ” My heart almost stopped when I heard that question.
“Do you want her to be your mother, love?” Max asked.
I looked at her in shock, noticing she was getting a little tense.
“If Lary wants to… I want to.” My eyes filled with tears. I was holding myself back from crying
“You don’t mind me being your mother, dear?” She nodded.

“I like Lary… You play with me… You read me stories… Likewise, you take me to the square, letting me stay a bit longer with your little
friends… You’re always listening to me… I want to call you Mommy.
I couldn’t stand it and took her in my arms.
“I’m going to love being your mommy, sweetheart.” My tears started to fall. “I’m so happy to be your mommy.
Her eyes were also filled with tears, she hugged me and began to cry on my shoulder.
“M–Mama.” She called me.
“Yes, my love.” I couldn’t stop crying, too.
This happiness was priceless. I’ve always wanted to be called that. I’ve always longed to have a family.
The two of them approached us. Dominic kissed my forehead and then kissed his daughter’s hair… Or, rather, our daughter. Max did the
same.
“Now you have a mommy, princess.” Max said, stroking her hair.
She hugged me even tighter.
“That was very emotional.” I looked at my mother–in–law, who wiped away her tears. “Tonight we should celebrate a new member of the
Russo family.

“Yes! I’m going to tell all my cousins that I now have a mother!” She perked up instantly.
I smiled at her happiness.
“Let’s introduce Hilary to the other relatives. “My father–in–law said.
They both sighed.

“Mom, I’ll tell you in a minute.” Max started to say something, but his tone wasn’t gentle. “If any of them start saying anything about our girlfriend, I’d better get my niece out of the room. I don’t want her to see what’s going to happen.
“Max. “I held his hand. “Please, I don’t want you to make a mess.
“”
He smiled.
Oh, my God. These smiles they’re giving me aren’t those of someone who is happy. It’s like a dark smile.
“I’m just protecting what’s ours, love. But it’s up to them; I’ll be quiet, I promise you.” He kissed my hand.
I looked at Dominic, who just smiled.
God help us; may we get home without them hurting anyone.
