Obsessed with the nanny
Chapter 9
Hilary Moretti.
Tuesday.
We left my room and descended the stairs.
“My beautiful princess, I’m so thrilled you landed your job, my father said, for the second time.
But my happiness couldn’t be contained; knowing they’re proud of my achievements fills me with joy.
“Thank you, Dad.”
My mother embraced me, followed by my father. They affectionately kissed my cheeks, then my forehead.
Take care of yourself.”
“I will,” I assured them as we said our goodbyes and headed to the car. I settled into the back seat while Matteo took the front.
“I forgot to ask, but how are the kids? You haven’t even been home; they must be worried,” I inquired as soon as Pietra started the car.
“They’re fine, baby. I’ve already called and spoken to them. But they keep asking about you. Seems my children love you more,” Matteo
said dramatically.
*Elias hasn’t stopped talking about you, either. Always asking when you’re going to visit. Friend, what magic did you work on our kids?”
I smiled.
“I just love spoiling them.” They both snorted.
“You spoil them too much; that’s why they adore you.”
Throughout the ride, we discussed the kids. I’ve pondered the future possibility of adopting. I know my parents are eager for a grandchild; I’ve always thought about adopting, but since I work with children, the idea has disappeared. Because they already occupy my heart.
“We’re here,” she announced, stirring my nerves.
I’m so nervous. Mrs. Lorena is here. She always makes me anxious.”
“Wait, you didn’t mention Mrs. Russo was interviewing you, Pietra said, incredulous.

Hearing, Mrs. Russo’s voice sent a wave of nerves through me; I couldn’t explain why. She’s only ten years older than me.
It’s Hilary, Mrs. Russo,”
“Oh, yes, Come in, dear.”
The gate opened.
I waved to my friends. The good thing is that my suitcases have wheels, so they’re easy to carry. Entering the mansion, I carefully pulled them along, and Mrs. Lorena greeted me at the door.
“Good morning, Hilary. Let me help with those.”
“Oh, you don’t have to,” but she insisted and took a suitcase.
“Come along, she beckoned as we entered the grand mansion. “I’ll show you to your room.”
I followed, awestruck. She halted before a door, opening it to reveal a spacious room that left me utterly astonished. “This will be your room,‘ she indicated where to place my bags.
But I kept looking around the room: a double bed, a large TV mounted on the wall, a vast closet, and even a study desk. The room, in light gray, was stunning.
I placed my suitcases where she pointed.
Come on, I’ll show you the kitchen and the rest of the house.”

And so she did, introducing me to every possible space, including the kitchen, and pointing out where food and essentials were stored.

“My granddaughter is not picky; she eats everything, Classes start at eight and end at one. Can you driver
“Yes. She nodded her head in a small positive gesture.
“There’s a car in the garage for you to use with my granddaughter. Take her to school if my child is unavailable, pick her up, or take her
to play in the square. She attends the School of Hope.”
(Author note: I made up this school; just go with it)
“I’m familiar with it.”
It’s the top school in Italy, attended by children from affluent families. And from what I’ve heard, they teach very
well.
“But there won’t be any classes this week or the next. However, I’d like you to wake my granddaughter at eight; I don’t want her sleeping in. Her bedtime is eight in the evening. And please put a diaper on her at bedtime; sometimes she wets the bed.”
“Understood. Does she take any medication?”
“No, but should she develop a fever, there are children’s medicines on the kitchen shelf.
We then heard slow footsteps and looked up to see a little girl rubbing her eyes. Lorena quickly ascended the stairs and scooped her up.
“Hello, my princess. Good morning,” she kissed her hair.
“Good morning, Grandma.” What a cute little thing!
“When you put her to bed, take the baby monitor so you can listen in. Also, I don’t like her walking near the stairs.”
“Understandable; it’s very dangerous. I’ll be cautious.”
“Darling, this is your new nanny, Hilary,” She descended the steps with her granddaughter in her arms.
The little girl continued to rub her eyes but then glanced at me.
Oh my God! Her eyes are a stunning dark blue.
“Nanny? Again?” I smiled at her adorable mispronunciation.
“Yes, my love. But this nanny is going to be great fun; she’ll play with you a lot.”
“Really?” Her eyes lit up.
“Yes, my little angel. We’ll have lots of fun together,” I approached and smiled softly, and she beamed back.

“Grandma, I like the new nanny!” she exclaimed, making us chuckle,
6:
“That’s wonderful, my dear. Now, Grandma has to leave, but you’ll be in good hands,” she handed her to me.
“Bye, Grandma.”
“Goodbye, my princess,” Mrs. Russo affectionately kissed her forehead, “Hilary, the car keys are in the garage. My children are home; they’re asleep right now. I’ve told them to stay with Lisa once they’re up and you’re settling in.”
“Take care on your way back,” I smiled.
“Thank you, dear,” she exited the mansion, leaving us alone.
“Well, how about we go have some breakfast?
“Yes!” I laughed.
That girl is absolutely adorable. I think I’m going to love it here.
