Chapter 4
At the sound of that familiar voice, my father and brothers quickly let go of me.
When I saw the stately, elegant woman standing before us, the tears I had been holding back finally
fell.
Ignoring the pain, I crawled into her arms and wrapped my arms around her waist.
“Grandmother, I missed you so much,” I whispered.
She held me gently, her eyes full of pity as she looked at the bruise and swelling on my forehead. “Charlotte, I’m sorry I was late and let you suffer.”
“Don’t be afraid. Today I will stand up for you.”
Her arrival was completely unexpected by my father and brothers. Seeing her, the three of them exchanged panicked glances.
My father took a deep breath, steeling himself as he approached my grandmother.
“Mom, you’ve always disliked these kinds of events. Why didn’t you give me a heads–up so I could have met you at the door?”
My grandmother snorted. “Who’s your mom? I only had one daughter, Charlotte’s mother. I never had any sons, so don’t go calling me that.”
Seeing my tears, she gently patted my back and then swept a sharp gaze across the room.
“If I hadn’t come today, would the Ironclad Group have fallen into someone else’s hands?”
With that, she patted my head. “Charlotte, it’s all on me. I failed to look after you, and you’ve
endured so much unfairness all these years.”
After being scolded by my grandmother, my father tried to argue, clearly unwilling to accept the rebuke. “You misunderstand. Charlotte has been flaunting her position in the hall, acting
outrageously. She even laid a hand on Tiffany, embarrassing the whole company.”
“I’m her father. It’s my responsibility to teach her some discipline.”
My grandmother glared at him, her voice ice–cold. “You don’t need to explain. I’m not deaf. I heard every word you just said.”
“Listen carefully, William. I’m still alive, and already you’re scheming to take over my company.”

My brothers opened their mouths to speak for our father. “Grandmother, you really misunderstand
him-”
My grandmother didn’t even hesitate. She raised her hand and slapped both of them across the face.
“You two outsiders better shut up. You have no right to speak in front of me and Charlotte.”
Tiffany shamelessly stepped forward with a smile. “Grandmother, you should have told me you
were coming. I would have met you at the door.”
She reached to take my grandmother’s arm, but my grandmother pushed her away with force.
“You, a kept woman, dare call me grandmother? How shameless,” my grandmother said.
My grandmother had built the Ironclad Group from the ground up in her youth. She was the only female billionaire in Althoria, and everyone in the room knew her and knew of her legendary accomplishments.
Now, seeing her attitude toward us, the crowd finally realized the truth. I was indeed the billionaire’s real granddaughter, and Tiffany was nothing but a kept woman.
Immediately, the looks they gave Tiffany turned to disdain.
“What? Tiffany is a kept woman? And the man who kept her must have terrible taste to be with
someone like her?”
“The father and his sons must be out of their minds. Two of them call their own sister a mental

case,
“Wait… do you think Tiffany’s the mistress of all three of them?”
My father and my two brothers were listening to these whispers, their faces darkened with fury. Tiffany shot me a glare full of resentment.
None of them had expected that the first thing I did after being reborn was to call my grandmother
to back me up.
Seeing them all staring at me, I immediately shot back, “What are you staring at? If you did it, own
it.”
My grandmother nodded in agreement. “Charlotte is right. If you do something, you must take
responsibility.”
With that, she took my hand and walked to the front of the crowd. With eyes that had seen much and

remained sharp, she addressed everyone.
“Listen up, everyone. The young woman beside me, Charlotte Montgomery, is my true granddaughter and the heir to the Ironclad Group.”
“William, after today’s centennial celebration, Charlotte will officially take over the company.
My father and brothers were stunned, their faces filled with resentment.
They tried to argue again, but my grandfather ignored them completely, pulling my hand and leading me to the center seat on the stage.
I looked at the pitiful four of them, a slow smirk creeping across my face.
This was just the beginning. The real show was only getting started, and I hoped they would enjoy the role I had in mind for them.
