Chapter 34 THE PLANNES CHAOS
OLIVIA’S POV
The double doors burst open with a deafening slam, echoing through the opulent conference room like a warning bell.
Before any of us could react, the security guard I had noticed earlier lunged forward with shocking speed. Gasps rang out, chairs scraped backward, and panic rippled through the room like fire through dry grass.
He grabbed the nearest Luna–a woman from the Thornhill Pack–and pressed a blade to her throat, his eyes wild with unfiltered rage.
“Nobody use mind–link to call for help, or there will be consequences,” he growled, his voice as sharp and cold as the knife in his hand.
The room descended into chaos. Screams. Shuffling feet. Frantic eyes.
But even as everything spun out of control, my gaze remained fixed on one thing: the tattoo on his forearm.
That symbol.
I knew it.
Where…?
The same circular emblem with jagged edges that looked like a burst of flame–I’d seen it before. I sensed something ominous about that mark but I had no time to think about it. The situation was getting out of control and I could see the Luna he captured was shivering in fear and that blade was already making a prominent wound.
The man’s gaze swept across the room, then zeroed in with fury.
“Which one of you is the Luna of Blackwood Pack?” he bellowed.
Silence fell. Dozens of eyes darted between me and Evelyn.
I could feel every gaze on me. Judgmental. Confused. Hesitant.
Evelyn stood tall at the head of the room, her chin lifted, but she didn’t speak..
My stomach twisted painfully. No matter how fractured my relationship with Dominic was–no matter how sidelined I’d been-
I was still Luna. My title may be disputed, but my duty wasn’t.
And these women were guests in our territory.
If they were harmed, the stain would be on Dominic’s name… and mine.
I stepped forward.
“I’m the Luna of Blackwood,” I said, voice steady despite the fear that surged inside me.
The rogue’s grip on the Luna loosened as he shoved her away. She collapsed to the floor, sobbing, but unharmed. I took a single step toward him, heart pounding in my chest like a war drum.
Dominic will come.
He has to.
But before I could take another step, a blur of movement flashed from the corner of my eye–Evelyn.
She lunged at the rogue.
Claws swiped through the air.

Chapter 34 THE PLANNES CHAOS
Chaos exploded.
I barely had time to react before I felt a sharp sting across the back of my head.
A dizzying pain followed.
I gasped, my knees buckling. It took me a moment to realize that sharp claws have stung me and I think Evelyn did it deliberately.
The world tilted. The ceiling spun.
And then…
Darkness.

I woke to the sterile scent of antiseptic.
A soft beeping filled the room an EKG monitor.
–
My eyelids fluttered open, and I turned my head slowly, wincing as a bolt of pain shot through my skull.
I was in a hospital.
And beside me sat James, his expression tight, eyes stormy.
“You’re awake,” he said gently.
My hand immediately flew to my stomach.
“The baby-?”
James reached for my hand, holding it between both of his.
“The baby is fine,” he said. “You were lucky. The blow could’ve been worse. Without your wolf’s healing… it could have led to a miscarriage. How many times do I have to tell you that you have to be careful?”
His words struck like ice water.
My wolf had been silent for weeks now, ever since the mark rejection.
I was healing like a human.
Before I could process more, a nurse stepped in, a clipboard in her hand. She hesitated, eyes flicking to James.
“You should-‘
But before she could say another word, James cut her off with a sharp look. “Later.”
The nurse glanced at me as if she wanted to say something else. But she nodded and left the room.
A strange unease settled in my chest.
“James… was there something wrong? What was she going to say?” I asked cautiously.
He shook his head. “Don’t think too much. Just rest, Olivia. That’s what you need right now.”
But the unease refused to go.
Then I heard it.
Cheers.

Loud. Jubilant. Celebratory.
They echoed from outside the hospital–voices chanting, clapping, howling.
James turned toward the window and sighed. “They’re celebrating Evelyn.“”
My heart sank.
“Celebrating?” I asked, even though I already feared the answer.
“She… saved the other Lunas,” James said slowly. “Fought off the rogue. Protected everyone. They’re calling her the Phoenix Luna–the perfect leader, the rightful mate. Some even said she showed mercy by saving you.”
I couldn’t breathe.
Mercy?
She had clawed me across the head–deliberately. That blow wasn’t an accident in the chaos. It was personal.
She had meant to hurt me.
But now?
Now the whole pack was singing her praises.
Calling her brave. Glorious. Honorable.
And me?
I was lying in a hospital bed, silenced by pain, forgotten by the very people I had tried to protect.
Outside, the celebrations continued. They praised her strength. Her beauty. Her destiny.
But I knew the truth.
She hadn’t saved me.
She had tried to destroy me.
And now…
The world was letting her win.
