Chapter 1172
Nathan opened his mouth, still trying to defend himself. “I…”
“Alright, Mr. Lowe,” Wanda cut him off. “Explanations just make it look worse. You know exactly what you’re thinking when it comes to Mrs. Lowe.”
Nathan fell silent.
She wasn’t wrong. Sometimes, he really couldn’t help himself.
Just then, Ivy came downstairs. “Morning.”
Nathan looked up.
Today, she was wearing a soft, pale yellow dress. Her long curls were loosely pinned up, and a pair of pearl earrings rested against her ears. She looked gentle and radiant.
Morning sunlight poured through the tall windows, wrapping around her as she stepped inside.
Nathan couldn’t take his eyes off her.
But before he could keep staring, Wanda stepped directly in front of him.
“That’s enough staring.”
Nathan was speechless. Was he not even allowed to look at his own wife?
Ivy took a seat at the table. Wanda set a glass of milk beside her.
“Have some milk.”
Ever since Ivy got pregnant, Nathan had the strong feeling his status in this house had dropped straight to the bottom.
Once the baby was born, it would probably sink even lower.
Ivy took a sip of milk.
She suddenly remembered the call from Edric. Roger’s birthday party was coming up, and he wanted her to bring Nathan home
with her.
The celebration was important. Nathan’s presence mattered.
Ivy glanced at Nathan across the table. She wasn’t sure how to bring it up.
The moment she asked, it would mean she was relying on him again. Would he even agree?
“Are you free tomorrow?” Ivy asked.
Nathan looked at her. “Tomorrow?”
“Yes. Do you have time?”
“Is something planned?”
“Not really,” she said softly. “I was thinking we could go out for dinner together.”
Nathan raised an eyebrow.
For a moment, his thoughts stalled.
She was inviting him out to dinner? Did the sun rise in the west today?

Chapter 1172
+25 Bonu:
“I’ll have Baxter rearrange my schedule tomorrow,” Nathan said. “I’ll go to dinner with you.”
Really?
Ivy’s eyes lit up.
She hadn’t expected him to agree so easily.
Right then, Nathan’s phone started ringing. He picked it up and answered.
“Good morning, Mr. Lowe,” Baxter said on the other end.
“I was just about to call you,” Nathan said. “Reschedule tomorrow’s appointments. I’ve got plans.”
“Actually, I’m calling about tomorrow’s schedule, too,” Baxter replied. “We just got word that there’s a problem with the overseas project. The team there can’t handle it. They need you to go personally.”
Ivy was sitting close enough to hear the conversation.
So there was a problem overseas. He had to fly out tomorrow.
Nathan’s brows slowly tightened. “What happened over there?”
Baxter lowered his voice. “Part of the construction site collapsed. There may be worker casualties.”
Nathan’s expression darkened. “I understand.”
After hanging up, he looked at Ivy.
“There’s an issue at one of our overseas sites. I have to go deal with it. Is tomorrow’s dinner important?”
Ivy had already heard everything.
Workers might have been injured. The situation was serious, and the local managers couldn’t solve it.
Compared to that, Roger’s birthday party suddenly didn’t seem important at all.
She shook her head. “No. It’s not.”
“I’ll be overseas for a few days,” Nathan said. “When I get back, we’ll go out to dinner.”
Ivy nodded. “Okay.”
Nathan stood up and left for the office.
