Kane’s POV
1 caught my breath the moment Tessa turned around to face me.

The soft glow from the dim bedroom light hit her just right, making the fabric of the dress shimmer slightly as it hugged her curves.
She looked breathtaking- more radiant than I’d ever seen her- and it struck me all over again just how lucky I was to have her back in my
life.
Her eyes met mine, a flicker of vulnerability hidden behind that shy smile. It was like seeing her truly for the first time, beyond the chaos, the war, the fear. Right then, nothing else mattered but the woman standing there, glowing in a way that made every battle scar on my soul soften.
“There’s something else… hold on.” I tell her, turning to gather the necklace from the bag I had deliberately left it in as a last surprise.
I reached into the bag, fingers curling around the small velvet box I’d tucked away earlier. “Close your eyes…” I said, voice low and steady, my heart pounding hard in my chest.
I stood up, opening the box, revealing the delicate silver necklace, turning slowly to find her eyes crunched closed.
“Okay… open them!” I announce, as her lids peel apart and she found the box I was presenting to her.
Tessa’s hand flew up to her mouth, her eyes shimmering with tears that threatened to spill over. I watched every emotion flicker across her face – surprise, gratitude, something deeper and rawer that made my chest ache.
“Wear it tonight,” I told her softly. “For me. For us.”
She nodded, voice catching, “Of course I will Kane, it’s beautiful! I don’t know what to say!”
I smiled at her joy, helping her to fasten it around her neck as her fingers traced it gracefully.
We took a moment longer in that quiet space, just holding onto each other’s presence before reality pulled us forward.
“Let’s go… this is only the start!” I tell her, as she chews her lip and blushes at how much I was showering her with surprises.
I take her hand in mine, leading her downstairs where I trusted Alpha Kion had arranged something I never would have imagined possible in
the middle of all this…
We stepped outside, finding a sleek black limousine waiting just beyond the door, gleaming in the fading sunlight.
I reached for Tessa’s hand, squeezing it gently as we approached. Her fingers curled around mine, warm and steady.
“How did you manage to do all of this!” She breathed, her eyes wide and impressed.
“I can’t take full credit, Kion helped!” I grinned as she giggled.
The chauffeur opened the door with a respectful nod, and I helped Tessa side first, watching her take in the plush leather seats and the quiet
luxury of the space.

The limousine glided smoothly through the winding roads, leaving the doctoren behind.

As we approached the base of the hill, the road curved upward sharply, and the lights of a storming restent came into fexe, gabbed the a crown atop the summit.
Its architecture was elegant but understated–stone and glass walls reflecting the moonlight, with soft lanterns lighting the path leading inside.
The driver slowed to a smooth stop, and the door on my side was opened promptly by a sharply dressed attendent. I stepped out first, extending my hand to help Tessa down. Her fingers curled around mine, and I could feel the steady warmth of her grip grounding me in this perfect moment.
Two hosts stood waiting as we approached the entrance, their smiles bright and welcoming. One stepped forward, speaking in flawless English with a respectful bow.
“Good evening, Alpha Kane. Your table is ready, please follow me.”
I nodded, acknowledging the greeting, and gestured for Tessa to lead the way.
The doors swung open silently, revealing a grand yet intimate interior filled with soft candlelight and the murmur of quiet conversations. The
smell of fresh herbs and roasting meats drifted tantalizingly from the kitchen.
The host led us to an elegantly appointed staircase that curved upward to a balcony terrace. As we ascended, the city lights spread out below us like a tapestry of glittering jewels, stretching to the horizon.
When we reached the balcony, the moon hung high and full, bathing everything in a gentle silver glow.
Our table was set apart from the others, a small round table dressed in crisp white linen, accented with a single flickering candle by large
heaters – away from the rest for added privacy.
I pulled out Tessa’s chair, watching as she sat, her eyes never leaving the breathtaking view behind me.
I took my seat across from her, heart swelling as she smiled softly, her cheeks still flushed from the excitement and the unexpectedness of it
all.
“This, I said quietly, voice low enough just for her, “is for you. For us. A night away from everything else.”
