Kane’s POV
“Where are they?!” I stand to my feet instantly, seeing Arianna’s panicked face as she rushes towards
us without Tessa or Erin by her side.
“They… they are really really drunk…” Arianna breathes dramatically, clutching at her chest as I forgot for a moment that she was also only a human with shit stamina compared to us males.
“What’s happened?! Where the fuck are they Ariann? You had one job!” I snap, as the others gather up their shit and prepare for us to leave in order to go find them.
“Chill out bro!” Talon defends her, as I growl in warning at my cousin – who was suddenly forgetting
his place.
He’s on my land, family or not!
I want answers and I want them now and I don’t care how polite
or patient my tone is failing to be!
“They got roped into doing the wet t–shirt competition on the floats! Gary convinced them both! They thought that you would both like it as a surprise!” Arianna explains, as my heart sinks to the pit of my stomach with her words, my head cranking around to see the approaching trucks from the
distance.
I’ll fucking kill Gary… and the pair of them for that matter! Disrespecting and embarrassing me like that! How fucking dare they?!
“ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING?! WHY DIDN’T YOU STOP THEM THEN?!” I explode, my temper spiking and my wolf clawing at the surface itching for his release.
“I told them I thought it was a dumb idea and that you both would absolutely hate it! They were just too drunk and by the time I had tried to reach them they had already gone off with Gary. It was too late to convince them otherwise! I seen them climbing onto the trucks and so I rushed over here to get you all!” Arianna states her defence, as I groan loudly and instantly make a move.
“This shit has to be a joke right?! They haven’t done that? They wouldn’t dare!” Seth expresses the same annoyance as me, as we both rush towards the moving vehicles.

I instantly send out an urgent mind link to Gary, telling him to stop the parade and to get my fucking suitor off of that truck before I rip his head from his damn scrawny shoulderst
“They’ve crossed the line with this! It seems that they can’t handle a fucking tiny bit of alcohol – typical humans! Seth goes on, as I nod once in agreement, feeling my body grow hot as though a
volcano was brewing from within me ready to explode.
I was pissed off to new levels, having never thought Tesssa would be capable of even agreeing to
such a stunt like this. She is willingly going to flaunt herself around to all of the single males here,
encouraging them to stare at her fucking tits? I’ll massacre this whole place if I need to!
With that thought, I release a deafening growl, with those nearby making a quick move to get out of
my way as the trucks suddenly come to a screeching halt as I near them.
Anthony had held back closer to the bar with Talon and Arianna to keep an eye on our things whilst
myself and Seth cut around to intersect the vehicles.
I heard Gary’s voice apologising to the crowd claiming that there had been a mistake as my thoughts cloud over with snapping the creeps neck for even running these pervy contests year in and year
out!
The crowd erupt in a flow of ‘boos‘ as I ignore their ignorance and scan each cage to find Tessa for
myself.
With my eyes landing on the leading vehicle in the front, I move around it to only find two of Gary’s men attempting to draw them both out of the cage as I take mental note that they both look cold, uncomfortable and evidently don’t want to move their arms from their chests.
Good.
If I would’ve saw them doing anything else but covering up I wouldn’t lost my shit completely!
Maybe they got in too deep and realised they had fucked up?
But it was too fucking late for regrets now! They should have known better regardless of what the
excuse for this was!
“FUCKING MOVE OUT OF MY WAY!” I shove the first guy to the side before shoving the other down on to his ass before he scrambles to get away from me hurriedly.

I look up to find Tessa’s upset face, which only seems to irritate me further in that instant. This Is her fault and her fault only do
pity them!
Freezing and crying, they can suffer the consequences of their actions!
“SIT DOWN AND ILL BE ABLE TO LIFT YOU OUT!” demand, pointing down with my finger as she
follows the order and sinks on to her butt for me to reach her better.
I grab her waist, hauling her off of the truck, before my hand finds the back of her neck with one
thing on my mind leaving this damn shit festival!
I don’t wait for Seth, knowing that he will handle Erin, as I begin to march us both across the stretches of grass, not bothering to stop and make small talk with Talon, Arianna or even Anthony as
I pass them by either.
I’m not in the mood for useless chatter.
They will get the hint that I don’t want to talk, at least not now. All I want right now is to burn this whole event to the ground and make Tessa watch in order to realise the consequences of what she
has done.
She’s ruined a good day.
The last day of her trial at that!
“K–Kane…” My eyes narrow when hearing her small voice attempt to speak to me in this moment, as
I instantly snap at her.
If she wants me to keep what little self control I still possess then she needs to shut the fuck up
right now!
“IT’S ALPHA! AND I DO NOT WANT YOU TO SPEAK TO ME!” I yell, ignoring those around us as we near the exit and I breathe heavily.
Tessa all but chooses to apologise quickly, lowering her head in submission as my wolf paces from within me – unsettled and pissed off since he too was actually starting to like her.
We finally get to the car after what feels like an hour of restless walking, as I use my free hand to rip the door open before shoving Tessa forward to get inside – watching her arms shoot outwards in

Seeing the see–through shirt clinging to her bare chest sends me over the edge.

‘COVER UP!” 1 roar out, disgusted that she had firstly even taken her own top off from underneath
to even partake in the contest.
I could see right through the shitty material! This was nothing more than a hellish joke being played
on myself and Seth!
She knew what she was doing! She wanted to join in thinking what? That it would be a harmless
funny little stunt? She thought wrong!
Tessa’s arms cross over her front once again as she sits inside the limousine, as I wait for Seth and Erin to catch up which doesn’t actually take them long.
“Move and get in! Don’t speak either!” Seth grumbles, releasing Erin’s bicep as she quietly
manoeuvres inside of the car.
Knowing that they can both still hear us talk, I make it a point of sharing my disgust and fury on the matter as I speak to Seth about it from outside.
“F**king skanky behaviour ain’t it?! Certainly not cut out to me any of our mates!” I rant, ensuring to hurt Tessa’s feelings like she had done to mine.
I actually started to trust her…
I thought that she was some sweet and innocent human…
“Maybe they are better suited to males that will treat them both the way they acted tonight!” Seth retorts, as I see Anthony, Talon and Arianna approaching.
Today was Tessa’s last day on my trial, and now, I don’t know what I’ll decide when I take her back
to her centre tomorrow.
As an Alpha I wouldn’t tolerate my mate acting this way, so why then would I progress with mating myself to a human who does this shit?
“Sorry that I couldn’t reach you guys sooner or put a stop to it!” Arianna’s voice meets my ears as

She also annoys me most of the time too and I dont need her pity either – she’s probably loving this
drama!
IT WAS HER! SHE SIGNED US UP FOR IT WITHOUT US KNOWING! Seth’s eyes widen when hearing Erin’s outburst from inside of the car, as a storm brews from behind his eyes.
“ENOUGH! YOU HAVE BOTH CAUSED ENOUGH HASSLE FOR ONE NIGHT!” Seth states, climbing into the car once everyone had gotten in before I also get in and fill the last seat.
Erin’s eyes water and Tessa keeps her gaze fixed on her knees as she leans forward in an attempt to go unnoticed which right now, was impossible.
With a tense and awkward silence falling amongst us, the driver starts the car and we begin the journey home leaving me with nothing more than doubts in my mind after what I had thought was a
perfect day…
She ruined it, for us both…
